It was only in the past five years that Jeremy had come to realize how important a holiday Halloween was in the wizarding world. His parents had never celebrated the day, but then again, they were not the celebrating type. Even now that Jeremy lived solely with his father, they never went to parties. Mostly, they stayed home, his dad working and sending owls, and Jeremy reading or studying. Here at school, Halloween was a day of fun that everyone seemed to get in on. Jeremy had saved up his sickles and knuts all summer long so that he could afford the costume that he was now donning. As he pulled the mask over his face, the young boy marveled at how very muggle-like he appeared. The package said that he was a 'surgeon'which he had looked up and knew was a healer for muggles. It was a very fitting costume because it was what Jeremy wanted to be once he left the school.

Jogging down the steps, Jeremy walked into the Great Hall, where the music was already playing and the food was already laid out. The teenager beelined for the tables and picked up a cookie with a ghost design on it and bit in. Oatmeal, yum, he thought to himself as he walked through the crowd. He saw the Headmaster dressed as a dementor and Professor Weasley was dressed as something with a sword. Pausing as he decided where to head, Jeremy nodded his head to a few housemates who walked by.

Sapphire had coiled her hair up tight so it could seem short under the hat and the shorter loose strands flat pressed so that they looked straight and smooth. Halloween at the house had been about ritual and paying respects to the dead more than the fun and costumes that come with Halloween at Hogwarts. Then again Halloween at home also came with her mother telling them about what lurks in the woods of within the Bella-Donna manor. Thinking about it made a chill go up her spine as she flatened her skirt and looked at herself in the mirror before abandoning her glasses for just one night. Green perciption contacts made it so she could see as well as make it so that her eyes where green instead of blue. Picking up her bird shaped baton she made her way down stares to join the festivies.

The first person she looked for when she went into the Great Hall was a certain Ravenclaw that she had the world's must unbelievable crush on. Not that he would ever know it. She liked him but knew that he only thought her as a friend. Still that didn't stop her from having her own little pretend world revolving around him. As Jeremy took a bite of his cookie Sapphire pounced on him from behind. It was times like this that she wished she had a voice so she could shout 'Boo' but settled for letting him see her with a bright smile on her face.

Jeremy jumped a mile high as someone leapt onto him. He spun around and his heartbeat, which was racing from the scare, remained like a drum against his chest. Standing in front of him was none other than Sapphire, but she didn't look like the normal art-loving, glasses-wearing girl he knew. She looked totally different, the absence of her glasses being the most obvious difference. "Wow..." Jeremy said softly, his cookie forgotten in his hand as he stared at her a moment longer before realizing what he was doing. He couldn't just stay staring at her. She would think he was weird or something.

Clearing his throat, he leaned in closer, hoping the music had covered up his initial reaction. "You look...cool" he said, taking another bite of his cookie as he stood straight again. "Do you know what I am?" he asked, wondering if she'd seen a picture in a muggle book or anything.

Dymetris, at the last minute concluded that the Halloween feast was something he couldn't miss this year. he knew Tara would be there, with her group of friends and such, so he took it upon himself to dress as something very unusual. He was completely blue from head to toes and had a different shades of eyes color. He still look the same, except he drag his tail from behind and ignore the stares he would get from everyone that he first made eye contact with.

Talk about hiding behind a customer, Tara saw him she would know right away it was him. Still he slip into the crowds swaying the tail around from behind him. All the illusion and make up was used with magic. He had help thanks to his parents, they were artistic of the good and ugly. He somehow look in between their designs, edging close to the dessert he saw while he passed by his friend well Jeremy the boy who he knew clearly by name now with a girl he met too but never bother to ask what her name was. "Hello Guys, what's up?"

Sapphire blushed deep. She had noticed that he had been looking at her for moments too long making her think that maybe she had chosen the wrong costume. The shook that thought when Jeremy had said she looked cool. Sapphire smiled wide the studied him so she could answer his question. Your a Healer! She made her baton say with glitter over her head. She wondered if that was what he wanted to be when he grew up. Or maybe she had gotten it wrong as she remembered Healer's had green robes not pants. She looked at him for a moment more until someone very blue came up to them.

SOMEONE HAS CURED THIS CREATURE BLUE! Sapphire made the staff shrek but it was a joke. She knew that he was Dymetris, her newest hufflepuff friend. She liked his costume very much but that didn't stop Sapphire from poking a bit of fun at him. It was only right seeing as he had been so twitchy when he had first met her.

Jeremy waited, finishing off the last of his cookie quickly. He read the glittery message over her head and then shook his head. "No, but you're really close. I'm a Muggle healer...they're called surgeons" he explained to her over the music. Jeremy stepped to the side as a couple swept past him and onto the dance floor. He didn't need to hear Sapphire's staff to notice the blue boy that had approached them. He was not someone who was going to be missed, not even in this crowd.

By looking at his face it was easy enough to recognize Dymetris under all the blue paint and it seemed that Sapphire recognized him too. That made sense of course since they were in the house...and perhaps the same year. Jeremy wasn't exactly sure what year Dymetris was in. With a smile, the Ravenclaw spoke. "You're really blue" he said, touching the guy's shoulder and realizing that the color was caused by some kind of magic because it didn't simply wipe off. "That's awesome man. How long did this take you?" he asked. With a third person in the group, Jeremy didn't feel any of the awkwardness that had been in the air a moment before. He turned back to Sapphire. "He looks like he could be a character in one of your comics" he laughed.

The girl enthusiasm took Dymetris a little back, he read what was written above them and laughed. "Does she means cures or cured?" he had a hard time reading but smile anyways, simply cause she found her facial expression that much amusing. "I like your costume by the way...ermm but what is it?" he asked Sapphire, he was terrible at guessing and when he look over at Jeremy, his outfit reminded him something out of a muggels book.

"Oh yeah your one of those muggels doctors right? I saw them near my old neighborhood once...I think" he said almost lost, but the attention was turn right back at him. "Yeah my parents they decided to help out this year, it's pretty neat right? I bet they could've done you two as well" they are pretty amazing with makeup and hair designs, just about anything in the beauty world of the wizarding world. Nothing was ever plain or simple for them. "How's the festival so far?" he ask them both.

Sapphire put her hand over her mouth to signal that she was giggling. A muggle healer, she should have guessed seeing as she was taking muggle studies but then she never really payed attention to the lessons really. A time filler more than anything else. That was my next guess She made the glitter say with a large smile on her face. He would know she was lying from her grin.

Sapphire held the staff over her head and stuck a pose. The glitter spouted the words Card Captor Sakura! as she put her other hand on her hip. She smiled wide then found the quill tucked around her let ear. It's a comic book character which came from one of my muggle born friends. She quickly wrote on a napkin for you. Are you a smirf? She asked under the first message. Sapphire would have used the glitter but she was getting a bit tired of having to do this all the time. She handed the note to Dymetris and waited for him to answer.

Jeremy shook his head. "I don't know." The quiet Ravenclaw allowed the two Hufflepuffs to speak for a moment before he said anything. Finally, he nodded his head, glad that the guy had guessed right and laughing at Sapphire's reply. "Suuure Sapphire" he replied sarcastically before giving her a grin to match the one on her face. "Wow...that's incredible. They're really good" he replied to Dymetris. Compared to these two, Jeremy felt like he'd put almost no effort at all into his costume.

When she pulled out a quill and began to write, Jeremy glanced towards the dancefloor to see who else was out there. He saw plenty of vampires, a bunch of dementors and even a few kids in no costumes at all. When he turned back, it was to see Sapphire pass Dymetris a napkin filled with writing. He frowned slightly, wondering what they were saying to each other. His stomach tightened slightly and he reached for another cookie to ease it. It wasn't hunger pangs though. The young Ravenclaw was feeling the beginnings of another kind of pain. He peered over the boy's shoulder. "What the Merlin is a smurf?" he asked, confusion etched on his face.

Dymetris gave out a confused expression. "Sorry Sapphire I have no idea who that is and will never know in a million years" he said with an unease chuckle. The sparkles got to him and he was glad she stop using it after a while. "No and I have no clue what a smurf is...?" he said laughing both at Jeremy and Sapphire. "I'm an avatar at least that's what my mums told me when they made it over me" Dymetris said to her and Jeremy.

"Jeremy that looks good least right now it does" he reach for a cookie and a bit of punch, he wander more towards the table and, tried another sweet that he had never had a chance to devouring. "Wow I've been missing out on these, should've known what is bad can sometimes be good for you" he nipple more on the cookies!

Sapphire shook her head and smiled wide. It's alright I'm a nerd. She made the glitter say. She wasn't going to use it on overly long sentences but things like could be expressed without a problem. She too admired how skilled his parents where at making costumes like that. She hoped to get as skilled at creating things too. Maybe one day she would even let people other than her friends see her work. Sapphire thought that Jeremy's costume was good too but before she could express so Sapphire was being told that they didn't know what a Smirf was. Instead of telling them she drew a rough sketch of one. She showed them a sort of smoothed out gnome with a funny cap and pants. Under she wrote One of my dorm mates swears she saw one. Then showed it to them only to find that they where attacking the food. She pulled on Jeremy's sleeve and gave him a big eyes look which clearly expressed she wanted a cookie too and she wanted him to give her one.
