Teddy was finally a sixth year and over the hurdle of OWLs at last. There was still NEWTs of course, but not until next year, and this was a chance to breathe. Maybe even enjoy himself a bit and spend time with Audrey like the good old days. Teddy was almost over his almost perfect OWL results too. Eleven O's and one bloody E in Potions. An E. He could still feel the sting of it. He’d worked hard to let it go, to remind himself it wasn’t everything. But it had knocked him down a peg, and he wasn’t used to that.

Things did feel better being back at school after a break. He had new longer robes. Quidditch was starting up again soon, and the sign ups for the Brotherhood were soon too. He'd even missed his prefect duties a bit although he wouldn't admit that. However he could admit he had missed his friends the most so when Audrey had come to him for help, he had been more than happy to help her. And it was that which brought them to the student lounge where they had set up a few items on a table including matches.

Teddy held one match and pointed his wand at it, "Flammeus Tailora!" It shimmered then transformed into an extra sharp and shiny needle. "And to think I once thought this was a pointless spell," he said with a smile then looking around the student lounge which was nearly empty except for the two of them. "It probably needs sterilising though. I can heat it up." Even with that Potions blip, he still knew what he was doing. Probably.

Yes, Teddy definitely probably knew what he was doing.

Audrey had desperately needed the break from school after OWLs and all the missed sleep and everything that came with it. Her marks had been a mixed bag. She'd gotten the marks she needed, though some like Divination had ended up being a bit of a throwaway. Narrowing down her coursework for NEWTs was something she could cope with, even if it was unfortunate she couldn't learn absolutely everything. It had actually been her new boss who had talked her down, since she'd picked up some work at Scrivenshaft's over the break. She'd be better at the things she decided to focus on rather than splitting her focus so widely. It also meant her animagus studies would be given more time, so she could really show how dedicated she was to it.

But this wasn't about study, thank Merlin. Audrey idly ran a finger around her ear, feeling the helix ring and the two studs in her earlobe. She felt very cool, like she'd fit in with Dion and his card game buddies if she wanted to. Even though she wasn't great at poker. Terrible, actually. "Did you tell your dad you think that? I'm sure he'd be thrilled," Audrey teased, looking at the sharp needle and swallowing down the hesitation in her chest. It'd be fine, surely. "Just never mention turning quills into spoons in front of my boss. Thought he'd have a heart attack." Better him than her. "Yeah, light a match, it's probably sterile because you just transfigured it but better be sure," she went on, rubbing the ice cube over her nose. Water was dripping onto her collar. Sure, when she'd got it done properly there didn't have to be any of that sort of stuff for it, but they also didn't have access to professional products.

Audrey's rational brain was questioning what on earth she was thinking. But the more impulsive side of it was drowning those questions out. Cool, impulsive Audrey was the one who'd make a statement and get noticed. Rational Audrey could rest until classes started in earnest.
