Stepping outside her classroom, Alice took a deep breath and smiled to herself. The smile was one of relief, and after the heavy DADA class, there was nothing more exciting that going to meet her best friend. She had met Danielle Warbeck just before she had come to Hogwarts, and even though they were in different houses, they friendship had only increased. Touching the locket around her neck, she ran her finger along the cut edge which made it obvious that it was one of two. Smiling again as she thought of Danielle wearing the other half, she began to make her way down to the kitchens. She had spoken to some elves before the lesson and asked them to create a small basket of food for the two friends to share on a mini picnic. The start of the year had felt empty without her best friend and someone to share the feast with. She had so much to tell Danielle and the excitement filled her steps with an extra bounce. The crumpled note in her pocket asking her to meet on the great lawn with some food felt warm and friendly. Nodding her thanks to the elves, she swiftly manoeuvred between the growing crowds and onto the great lawn. Scanning around, she found her eyes resting upon her friend before wandering over, a lightness about her walk. The basket growing heavy, so walking over, she placed it down next to Danielle.
"Hey Stranger!" She smiled, hovering close, wondering whether a hug would be in order or whether it would be awkward right now. Her friend had been sick, and having worried over it too long, she smiled warmly, letting off her emotions that she had carried around for the last few months. Sitting down next to her friend, she pointed to the basket Danielle had brought with her. "Well we have lodes now!" She commented, her tone light, fluffy and friendly. Opening the lid of the basket, she waited for Danielle to say some stuff before spilling into a long talk that was needed between the two friends. She wanted to catch up on summer, the start of school, how it was going with Ryan, and whether Danielle was feeling better, but there was time for this, and time she had, so waiting patiently would be the best thing. Waiting patiently would help the two girls to pick up where they left off...
