Freya sat in the window seat in her old room with the heavy embroidered curtains pulled closed, concealing her in her own little cocoon. She looked out the window over the deep green forest that lay below. Her thoughts wandered to that of her husband. She found herself thinking less of him on a daily basis. She knew it didn't mean she loved him less, she had just begun to accept his death and decided that perhaps now was the time to move on.

Moving on didn't necessarily mean that she was looking for love, but perhaps it might mean not turning away from it if it should present itself to her. She gathered up her knees and hugged them. Resting her head on her knees she closed her eyes and drifted off to that dream world where her and Tyr could be together, always in love, always together. Now was the time to say goodbye.

While she slept, unbeknownst to her, below in the forest of her childhood, the decaying leaves on the forest floor rustle with familiar footsteps, also from her childhood.

Wind blew cool and soft in the dark forest under growth. Jake wandered aimlessly picking up small bits of twigs and branches to make his fire for later that night. His mind kept going back to the day he left St. Mungos. The nurses and healers could not tell him why or how long he had been there. Or even why after all these years he had finally woken up from his coma.

The years before his stay at the hospital were all a complete mystery to him as well. He had no memory of who he was or where he had come from. The nurses at the hospital helped him pick out a name and once he had been sent off into the world he did not know where to go. Did he have a family? Did he have friends?, a job? a home? He wandered around for several months and finally found his way to this forest. He wasn't sure why it felt familiar but it helped his feelings of emptiness and loss.
