Cleo walked through the Garden, her head clouded with thougths and confusion she sighed as she slowly ripped up a letter in her hands not worrying about who she ran into or who looked at her funny, her blonde hair cascaded like a curtain around her face. The Letter teared easily in her hands, she had just recieved it from her Father only an hour ago, her hands trembeled as if the letter she was holding was pure poison itself. Cleo picked up her pace and ripped the letter some more, she made sure the words Unfaithful, sorry, different, accident were torn thoroughly, she couldn't believe what was happening, her own father had betrayed her mother... or who she thought was her mother, she always thought that her mother treated her different to her Brother and Sister and now she knew why, Her mother wasn't her mother, Apparently she was the Daughter of her Fathers rebellion when her parents had a bit of a fight and a rough moment because Lake was giving them so much trouble so he went off and 9 months later she was left on the door step. Cleo knew that she had never seen any photos of her in the hospital with her mother but she just guessed that they were in a photo album hidden somewhere or that they were to unprepaired to take photos and they had forgotten a Camera.

Cleo ripped up a few more peices of paper Veela was torn as small as she could make it, she left the tiny peices of torn up paper in a trail behind her as she moved towrds the cliffs, or somewhere where she could scream or let it all out or something, she felt as if her skin wasn't hers, it was something diffferent, she didn't look like her half sister or her half brother they were both brunettes she was blonde, her sister was beautiful and she wasn't, but she was Half-Veela, she was meant to be Beautiful. Cleo knocked past someone and felt as if her body was going to give way to her right then and then, she was struggeling to hold all her emotion in, her legs felt weak. Cleo trembelled slightly and took a deep breath and tried to keep on walking but she felt stuck. Cleo's hands shook as she looked at the torn paper in her hands, words hand been torn out and the edges ripped. Cleo tried to take one step forward.

Deme was having a really good day today, he was finally outside in the sunlight, allowed to run around crazily. In all honesty, he'd decided to take a short break from classes, because he felt that he could easily catch up on them, someday, and the sunlight was too lovely to neglect these days. The Russian-born boy wasn't used to seeing the warm sun all the time, but he most certainly liked it and tried to spend as much time outside as possible, though sometimes he'd catch a burn and that was never much fun. Usually Deme wasn't a fan or running all over the place, because he'd get tired and want to sleep. Not today though, he was feeling particularly energetic and happy today. Walking through the Hogwarts Garden happily, Deme looked at the tree and their brown leaves that were s sure sign that Autumn was well set in, which meant that Spring was near, also known as Deme's favourite season. Truth be told, the young Ravenclaw was a little lonely, since it was difficult for him to make friends, he had only met four people really, and he had not been able to keep in close contact with any of them because he wasn't sure if he should. Deme wasn't sure if he could keep up with them, except maybe Cleo, because they seemed to both be quiet people. Taylor was a very chattery person, and Collin seemed really grown up and serious, which made Deme feel a little small, especially since he was older and had been a little cranky at the Ravenclaw for nearly blinding him with a spell, well, that's how it felt to Deme.

Deme continued walking, and shook his head slightly when he remembered when he met the Headmistress in the Forbidden Forest, that wasn't something he wanted to re-visit, because she was the Headmistress now, so it was a little scary now. Deme looked forward, and smiled when he saw someone familiar, Cleo, the fellow Ravenclaw he met in the Library. Deme watched her come closer, but quickly realised that she seemed to be ripping something up, she didn't look too well either. Deme nearly tripped over when she bumped into him, but managed to keep his footing and grabbed Cleo's wrist carefully so she'd atleast slow down, he didn't want to hurt her wrist, but he wasn't going to let her just bump into him and storm off looking like she had just gotten the worst news ever. "Cleo!" He called, pulling on her wrist gently. "Vhat happened?" He asked frantically, his strong Russian accent showing, he was really worried because he wasn't used to people being upset, it was all new to himnd when he was feeling strongly about something, his accent seemed to become very strong.

Cleo felt a hand on her wrist and her heart Pounded in her fragile chest. She gasped slightly when someone said her name, was it her name? Did her real mother give it to her or did her pretend mother name her Cleo. The Half-Veela cleared her Vision and saw Deme on her Wrist she panicked slightly, Deme was one of the only people in the entire school she talked to and she didn't want him to be freaked out by her situation.

Cleo blinked a few times before she realised he had asked her what happened. 'I'm a mistake' she said weakly, her heart felt like it was pumping concrete and getting heavier by the minute. Cleo looked at Deme, she stared at him for a moment before looking down and allowing her hair to shield her face 'Do you think I'm Alluring?' she asked nervously 'Do you find me Attractive, like irresitable?' she asked her heart getting heavier by the minute, she was also certain that her chest was visibly thumping. Cleo looked up from under her hair and stared into Deme's eyes. Cleo was nervous and terrified, she wanted to know if he could read her as a Half-Veela or not. 'Do you know what a Veela is?' she asked not really fully giving Deme time to answer her questions.

Cleo fumbeled with the paper using one hand while Deme held her wrist.

Short Reply, My bad

Deme relaxed when Cleo finally stopped walking away and paid some attention to him, but her words were horrible, and he wasn't sure why anyone would say that, even if at one point in his life he thought the exact same thing. The young Ravenclaw was confused, because Cleo was quite shy, but she didn't at all appear to be a negative person when they met last time, in fact, she seemed quite positive and happy, maybe a little quirky, but that was never a bad thing. Deme frowned when she looked at him, she seemed really distressed and he wanted to help her, it was the least he could do, she was one of the only people he'd spoken to in this entire school, that included his own adoptive siblings, and he felt that it was his responsibilty to help her out, as a friend. "Cleo... you're not a mistake-vhat?" In the middle of his attempt to comfort her, Cleo asked some of the strangest questions the eleven year old had ever heard. Was he supposed to take them seriously? Cleo had asked so many in such a small space of time that he wasn't sure if he should even try to answer them all, besides, he was eleven, he wasn't sure what he felt about Cleo. When Deme looked at Cleo, he saw a girl, with very long hair and clothes, his eyes didn't really pick up anything 'alluring' or 'attractive' about her, because his age caused him to not really see girls as anything more than not boys.

When Cleo seemed to ask her final question, Deme nodded. The Ravenclaw knew what a Veela was, but he had never-to his knowledge- met one before. They were supposed to be really pretty or something, but that was all he really understood of it, and that they were apparently not human, but looked human, which he had always found a little confusing. "Yeah... I know vhat a Veela is." He answered slowly, he wasn't sure where Cleo was going with this and all of her strange questions were starting to really confuse him a lot. His brown eyes moved to the torn paper in Cleo's hands. "Vhat is that?" He asked, finally releasing her wrist.

Cleo shook her head when Deme said that she's not a Mistake 'Yes i am' she insisted she felt a cloud swarm around her brain making her feel a bit foggy, too much to handle at once.
Cleo pushed her hair out of her face with one hand trying to bring back her sense which had seemed to get lost somewhere in the confusion. 'Veela, What makes Veela's so Special' she whimpered softly. The young Witch realized that Deme holding her wrist was attracting attention and she was glad when he let go of her wrist. Deme had noticed the paper in her hand and she sighed scrunching it slightly in her hand 'Proof' she said in a small voice.

Cleo looked up at Deme her hair falling half in front of her face she clutched the paper tightly and held it in front of her face 'Proof that my life is a lie, that I'm a mistake' she said she ripped it in two straight down the middle 'Would you still be a friend to me if i was different' she said her voice shaking slightly, she was taking big breaths but it probably looked like she was hyperventilating... was she hyperventilating. Cleo looked at Deme, her blue eyes watching him closely.

Deme continued to frown, he wasn't sure what brought on this behavour, it didn't seem natural for the blonde, sure, Deme wasn't exactly her best friend that had none her since the dawn of time, but usually people displayed emotions like this all the time if they were this upset. "I don't think you are." He soothed. How could anyone be a mistake? "I'm sure your parents don't agree with what you're saying. Vhat about your sister? I don't think she'd say you're a mistake." He added, trying to get the fellow Ravenclaw to see reason. It was rare for someones whole family to think they're a mistake, and Cleo's sister, from what Deme knew of her, seemed to only be thinking about Cleo and trying to make sure she got friends, even if her methods seemed totally crazy to Deme, he wasn't a girl, so he doubted he would understand anything they did. When she spoke very queitly, Deme almost missed what she had said, but he had got the gist of it and sighed slightly, he wasn't exactly sure what to say, because he wasn't very sociable, and he had never dealt with a problem like this, stuff like this was meant to happen to older people, not eleven year olds, and his adoptive siblings had never commented about anything like this, and they never seemed upset about being different, especially Fayt, he could talk to snakes, if that wasn't scary and creepy, Deme wasn't sure what was!

Deme still wasn't entirely sure why Veela's were in the conversation, he figured that that torn paper had said something about them, something that had managed to upset Cleo so badly. When she named the paper 'proof', the small Ravenclaw nodded slowly. "Proof of vhat?" He asked, he didn't want to miss something and comfort her for something that wasn't happening, he was pretty confused and right now direct answers would help him out just that little bit more. Cleo soon answered him and he sighed once again, she seemed determined to lie to herself, calling herself a mistake, it wasn't an easy comment, and it shouldn't be said on a whim. "Cleo, you're lying to yourself. You are not a mistake." He insisted, he was getting a little upset because he didn't want, maybe the only person that he could call a friend, to see themselves as a mistake. Deme stared at Cleo as if she had tried to kill him, what she had said had to be the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard. "Ofcourse I vould!" He said quickly. "I'd be your friend if you had three eyes." He added, trying to calm her down before she caused herself to hyperventilate or anything, and when she started taking big breaths and shaking, Deme held her shoulders to try and keep her stable. "Cleo, please calm down, please!" He cried, he was eleven and his friend appeared to be paniking, so naturally he began to panik like crazy. "I am your friend, I promise!" Deme was speaking hurridly and was worrying, maybe a little more than was nessesary, but he tended to overreact to situations.

Cleo looked at Deme like he was Crazy, why was he insisting that she wasn't a mistake when she clearly was, Cleo shook her head when he said that his sister doesn't think shes a mistake 'She doesn't know, no one in my family knows, just my Father and my...' she paused not knowing what to call the person who was her Mother. Cleo shook a little with the realisation that she had lost one of the people she looked up to who was her Mother.
Cleo held out the pieces of paper out to Deme, it probably didn’t make much sense since it was now ripped in two and certain words were torn out 'Proof that I'm a mistake' she said softly as she waited for him to take the paper.
Deme seemed to be very certain that he would be her friend no matter what; she waited for him to read the paper that way he would know that she is a freak
Letter to my Daughter said:
Dearest Cleo,
I am Writing this Letter because you are such a big girl now that you deserve to know the truth about yourself. I am sorry for keeping this a secret from you but it was for Bev's sake. The Truth is Cleo; Your Mother isn't really your Mother. When Lake was young Barb and I had some problems with our relationship and I did a very bad thing. Long Story short you're an [____] I'm sorry you never knew but your real mother is a Veela, which makes you a [_____] Your Siblings are really your half siblings but they don't know about you, they still think that you’re a child of Bev, their mother. It's your choice if you chose to tell them, I will not.
I Love you and I am so sorry.
Love
Don

<FONT font="times new roman">Deme stared worriedly at Cleo, she was starting to get him really worried, would she be okay? Was this normal? Deme couldn't be entirely sure because he usually stayed by himself, even when with his family. No matter how much he insisted hat Cleo wasn't a freak, nor was she hated, the blonde didn't seem to be listening to him. Folding his arms across his chest quietly, Deme shook his head, his dark blue hair blowing in his face. As Cleo began to explain that only her and her father knew about... something. It seemed to be a really touchy subject and the young Ravenclaw wasn't sure if he should try and push the envelope, he knew how much he hated when people used to continually ask questions about his real parents, but that had all stopped these days, no-one really cared anymore since they'd gotten the idea that Deme wasn't going to talk about them. Deme looked at the paper in Cleo's hands carefully, and took the paper gently, then he opened it, soon realising that it was quite torn, so he held it delicately and read on.

Deme read over the letter a few times, imputting a few words so that it made some sort of sense in his mind. It seemed that Cleo's real mother was a... Veela, which obviously made Cleo have some Veela in her too. Was that really a bad thing? Deme grew up in a rather accepting household, and they mostly mixed with muggles, so he'd never really learnt about most of the stereotypes, or prejudices that would surely show themselves at some point in his life. So naturally he didn't really see Cleo differently. A frown formed on his pale face when she had automatically decided what his reaction would be. "Cleo, I don't have a reason to say I don't know you." He corrected, moving his hair out of his eyes. "Doing something like that is just stupid. I don't see you any differently, honest."

Cleo waited while Deme read the letter, her heart seemed to be trying to squeeze through her throat and out of her mouth and go for a walk, it scared her, she hadn't felt so nervous before, apart from when she was going to be sorted into her House at Hogwarts, she had the same sort of feeling but not as strong. Cleo knew that Veelas could be known as very persuasive but she never thought she would make someone do what they didn't want to do.

Cleo looked up from under her hair when Deme had finished the letter and said that he didn't see her any differently. 'You Don't?!' she said with shocked delight, the next thing she did almost shocked herself, she jumped and threw her arms around Deme and squeezed him tightly a hug that was only reserved for her siblings... or half siblings. Cleo stopped and froze, she pulled away from Deme suddenly and started to apologise 'I'm So So Sorry, I didn't mean to get in your space, I’m sorry' she said biting her lower lip looking down trying to hide her face from the embarrassment.

Cleo smiled shyly, she was so excited that he was still going to be some sort of friend, she wasn't sure if he knew exactly what a Veela was but it didn't matter, she had a friend!

Taking one last look at the letter, Deme folded it up neatly, and gave the letter back to Cleo quietly, Deme sighed with relief when he'd finished the letter, and Cleo calmed down and was no longer acting like he was going to refuse to be her friend, just because her mother was a Veela or something just as silly. To be honest, Deme didn't really care who, or what Cleo's mother was, she was pretty cool and nice, she wasn't weird and scary, unlike some other people. "No, I'm still your friend. Really." He said honestly. He wasn't sure he could stand Cleo going bananas again with worry about him deciding that she wasn't worth knowing, because he would never think that, that would be really mean and cruel, two things Deme liked to think he wasn't.

Cleo still seemed pretty shocked, but atleast she didn't seem to be thinking that he hated her, because he didn't. But when she suddenly hugged him, Deme had no idea what he was supposed to do, because he wasn't really a hugger at all. But he still hugged her back, it wasn't like he was going to push her away and be mean, he'd just finished convincing her that he didn't hate her. "Umm... It's okay, I guess. don't worry about it." He said, smiling weakly. "So is everything okay now?" He asked, making sure that she was no-longer worried and scared.

Cleo accepted the letter from Deme, he was handling the situation very well, she wasn't sure if it was because he might know someone who was half-veela or even full veela or he was just a remarkable person. Cleo tilted her head 'I was under the impression that since I'm a result of something awful between my parents and I am different that social rules state that you must dislike me and treat me like an outcast… or that's what the books say' she said using logic she has gained from books since she has no life experience in the matter. Cleo played with her long blonde hair to take her mind of the fact that he should dislike her.

Cleo smiled shyly when he asked if everything was okay, Deme was being so nice to her she didn't know how to comprehend it. Cleo smiled at him, she didn't want to cover up her smile even though she had started to think that it might have had some sort of charm or something now that she was half-veela.. well she had always been Half-veela but now she was aware of it. 'I need to study Veela's and half-veela's more closely, before I do something I don't know how to handle' she said 'Before I get a legion of guys following me around the school and I don't know what to do' she said as she giggled, she didn't want to scare Deme away with her concerns, he understood and she still had a friend, She could sort her problems out by herself later.

Cleo pursed her lips slightly 'Please don't tell anyone Deme' she pleaded softly 'Not until I sorted this out' she said hoping she could trust Deme, he hadn't given her any reason not to yet.
