Walking and reading at the same time was a skill Giulia had acquired a long time ago. It wasn't especially difficult as long as you were mindful of the people around you and didn't get completely absorbed in the story. She was still trying her best to improve her English by reading books in the language, though it wasn't quite as feasible while walking. Every time Giulia hit a word she wasn't familiar with her hand twitched for the pocket dictionary she carried, but reading one book while walking was enough of a task, adding a second to the mix almost certainly wouldn't go well. So she just soldiered on, getting more and more frustrated as she started losing track of the plot in amongst all the unfamiliar words. She did her best to follow the story, but it quickly became clear she wouldn't be able to understand this book properly until she had time to actually sit down and read.
