It was a cold, moonless night, and it was approximately past midnight. Everything was dark and you could just see the silhouette of a twelve year old girl walking further and further into the forest. Her wand tip lit but the light was very soft so it was a struggle to see. She had been coming out here every single night for the last week to think, to decide what was going to happen to her. Was she going to admit to the others that she was a half-blood or keep on pretending that she was a pure-blood forever? Was she going to keep on being a member of a sinking group, or make up a new group of her own?

She sat on the familiar log that she had been perched on the last week, and pulled her knees in towards her, wrapping her arms around them, shivering slightly. It didn't matter that she was wearing black jeans with a matching black jacket, she was still freezing cold. Especially on this night as it was colder than the others.

'Oh come on.' She muttered to herself, how could she be scared? She had to be brave, especially to come out in the Forest at this time with all of the dangerous creatures by herself, she had been doing it, and nothing had happened, but still, she was terrified. If she wanted to be the future Dark Lady though, she had to do this, she had to be able to manage this, she would hopefully be able to control these creatures later.

Liam stood at the edge of the forest, he knew he shouldn't be out this late but he couldn't sleep, not with everything that had been going on. Afterall, he had just gotten back to Hogwarts, Liam sat down onto the grass fresh with dew, turning his head up to the sky he looked to the moon, wondering if it'd ever be the same.

It felt like hours since he had sat down onto the grass, but soon something in the distance caught his eye. Was it another student, perhaps? Keen on sneaking out? Or maybe a creature from the forest.. Either way it gave him the chills, he watched the blob make its way into the forest before he leapt up to his feet, wand drawn. He felt the need to find out what it was, even if he was too scared right now!

Liam wandered down the forest path, slipping and sliding on the grass as he went, it was a little sloped on the way into the forest. Once he managed his way into the forest he noticed it was.. Well, you couldn't see at all, the tree's seemed to go forever up into the air so, Liam, flicked his wand before muttering an incantation. "Lumos.." He said under his breath, and as he did so he could see, still, very little around him but it was enough to follow the path atleast.

Liam felt like an hour went by, sure it was only ten or so minutes but still, it felt forever to a twelve year old. Liam nearly tripped over from a root of a tree sticking out of the ground and cut his hand supporting himself on another tree. "Ouch!" He said quietly, just before walking into a log which, to Liam's suprise sat a girl on it.

Alyss' eyes were on were on the boy the whole time, and as he ran into the log she began to snap 'Watch where you're go-' Before he ran into the log where she sat on. She stood up and pushed the boy to the ground, standing over him. 'What are you doing out here?' She hissed, her wand pointed at him threateningly, she hated how when people disturbed her, especially tonight, when she was doing some important thinking.

She knew this boy was a Gryffindor, as she remembered him being sorted when they had first arrived here at Hogwarts, but then he had disappeared for quite some time and she had heard the teachers being concerned about him. And now this dumb Gryffindor, appeared to have resurfaced again. Great. Did he have a death wish or something? Coming out here alone? At least Alyss could protect herself, while he couldn't.

She still glared at him menacingly, waiting impatiently for his answer, her eyes glinting furiously at him. He was testing her patience.

"Oof." Liam grunted as he hit the ground, he looked up to the girl with the wand pointed down at him, he raised an eyebrow. He knew this girl might be trouble so he managed to stand himself up, his own wand down at his side, he looked to her wand before laughing a little. "My apologies. I thought you were some creature of the forest, heh.." Liam said, slyly, looking from the wand to the girl.

"I did not mean to intrude on you, if you are insulted. But, I would however like to know why you are out here aswell." He raised his eyebrow again, keeping a firm grip on his wand, obviously this girl thought Liam was some sort of idiot, this didn't faze him as he stood firmly on the spot, waiting for his answer this time.

Alyss narrowed her eyes at him, despite him being a Gryffindor, she still didn't trust him. Honestly, she considered her to be a creature? Yeah, right. She rolled her eyes and had her wand still pointed at him as he stood up. 'I come out here to think.' She answered simply, she wondered if she had revealed too much, she didn't want to ruin her tough Slytherin girl reputation and if it got out to the other Dark Elites than they would find out about her being a little different than what they expected.

She realised that it wouldn't matter if they heard that she came out here to think, but it would matter if they found out that she conferred with a Gryffindor without a battle, so she tightened her grip on the wand. She wouldn't start a fight, but if he did something that she deemed wrong, then she would shoot a curse at him.

'You must have another reason to be out here.' She said coldly, 'You honestly could not have thought that I was a creature.' She emphasised the word I sarcastically as she raised an eyebrow at the boy in front of her. If she didn't know better, she would've sworn that she had just been flirting with him. Shaking her head quickly, emptying that notion out of her head, she told herself, I'm a Slytherin, He's a Gryffindor, I'm a Dark Elite, He's a goody two shoes, not going to happen.

Liam watched her facial expressions carefully, making the simple error of letting himself forget about the wand he noticed her eyes narrow at him. "Ah, think.. That's always nice." Liam nodded, returning his attention back onto the wand and her, seeing as it would both matter if she decided to attack him. Liam shrugged his shoulders before setting his cut hand into his sweater pocket.

Liam wondered what house she had belonged to and wondered if she was a Slytherin, he doubted a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff would keep their wands raised at him in such a threatning manner, noticing the slack in her wand hand tighten he felt himself feel a little nervous, yet he grinned at her.

"Oh? I could of, where I was you looked like a tiny blob, hard to work out what you looked like at all." Liam spoke, before continuing. "And you brought me into the forest, I was sitting out on the lawns for awhile, til I saw you, o'course. He finished, chuckling about him thinking she was a creature of the forest.

Alyss wasn't silly enough to lower her wand, but she did let her hand loosen slightly on the wand, before noticing Liam put his wand back into his sweater pocket, if he was going to attack he would've done it already, so Alyss lowered her wand to the ground, not quite so ready to put it in her pocket just yet. If she hadn't know any better, she would've sworn that the boy standing in front of her was flirting with her, and as she told herself that was ridiculous, there was something in his eyes that made her think that maybe it just wasn't.

She heard him chuckle and a slow smirk was on her face slightly, but she was glad that her wand was pointed at the ground so he couldn't see her smirk in the darkness before wiping it off her face. 'Well, now that you know that I'm not a creature, what are you going to do now?' She sneered, trying to sound like a cold, condescending Slytherin. It was never this hard for her before, and she had usually done it with ease, so why was it so hard for her now?

Liam watched her set her wand to the ground, grinning still he felt a little more secure, now knowing that if he was to be attacked it wouldn't be from her, probably. He could feel his hand dripping inside of his sweater pocket and felt an odd shiver run up his spine, he hadn't looked at it but it probably wasn't that bad, he could just get it cleaned once he returned to the school.

Liam's attention was once again on her facial features and he could of swore he saw a smirk within the darkness that consumed the area around them, he grinned again himself thinking about it. What am I going to do now? He asked, looking at her with a silly grin. Well, if we were at Hogwarts I would ask if you were thirsty and wonder if you'd want some juice or sorts, but --" Liam motioned around him with his other hand, showing that they were in the forest, before continuing. "That is obviously out of the question, unless you enjoy drinking sap?" He teased her, still grinning.

A tiny genuine smile slid across Alyss' face when she heard him teasing her before she composed herself, yet again glad that it was dark so he couldn't see him. She raised an eyebrow at him before realising that yet again he couldn't see her facial expressions. 'Well, it depends if tree sap is quite delicious, but I don't think that I would like to try it to find out, unless you try it out first.' She responded, her tone light and slightly flirty, but she knew that that musn't be true, she wasn't teasing him, was she?

She shook her head to compose herself, and placing one of her hands in her pocket to keep it warm, she inquired curiously 'So, why haven't I seen you around for a while?' As soon as the words were out of her mouth she instantly regretted it because it made it seem like she had been looking for him which wasn't true. She had wanted it to sound like that she was being a natural Slytherin, demanding and wanting to be on top of everything, but the words came out the wrong way instead unfortunately.

Liam flashed his smile a bit, looking to one of the nearest trees and thinking about drinking the sap almost made him laugh. "Not sure if I'd be able to hold it down, heh." He grinned, he could of swore she was like a Slytherin, but.. Usually they were quite rude, were they not? He thought about this for a few seconds, before shaking his head, getting rid of his current thoughts.

His eyebrow raised up as if from instict, he looked at her through the consuming shadows as she asked her question and remembered that he was at Hogwarts. "Oh, right, that. Yes, one of my parents were in St. Mungo's, so I left for awhile, all is find now thought." His grin dissapeared for a moment but came back a few seconds later. "Oddly, though, for my first few months of school I did not see you either." He squinted his eyes, attempting to see better in the dark before remembering he had a wand and raising it so it illuminated their faces in the darkness that surrounded them.
