The sun shone brilliantly above and a cool wind ruffeled through a girls hair as she walked excitedly out to the gardens. She had an excited grin on her face as she walked out to meet her best friend. Harri had missed Ellie over the summer more then she thought she would, although she had seen Ellie at the Gryffindor welcome party it had been busy and they hadn't had much time to talk. She walked over and sat beneath the tree that their secret place was in. She looked up and sure enough there it was, it was well hidden though so anyone else who looked up would think nothing of it, she grinned and sat down gently on the springy grass.
 
Ellie grinned as she ran out of the castle and into the gardens, the sun shining above her. She was meeting her best friend Harri, at there special place, and was really excited! She couldn't believe she hadn't seen her all summer, and the only time she'd seen her after being back was at the Gryffidnor Party, and they hadn't talked much then to the fact that it was rather crowded.
Spotting Harri, Ellie ran towards her and hugged her excitedly.
 
"Ellie!" Harri squeled jumping up and returning the hug, "How are you? You have to tell me all about your summer!" she said excitedly sitting down then somehing popped into her head "Hows you and Mike?" she asked, she realised she was bombarding Ellie with questions but she couldn't help it.
 
Ellie grinned and sat down, "Oh i don't know, Ihaven't seen him since i got back! Summer was good! We moved house, but it's not home yet. It's got a pool and everything thiough so it's quite good. But guess what, my dad's got a girlfriend! I can't believe it, shes called Lily Hendry and she's awful, I hate her, they have nothing in common, I can't believe he's going with someone, mum only died in January, while the rest of us are still grieving hes going about with Lily! It's as if he's already gotten over Mum, I can't imagine him with anyone else but her and it's all confusing! I really want him to dump her, but feel selfish 'cos it's as if i don't want him to be happy but i do, Just not with Lily! I stayed out there way most the summer, i don't know what to do, but i sent him a letter yesterday and just need to wait on his reply, so how was your's? And how are you and ehmm.. what was his name? I'm sorry i've had so much on my mind lately!" Ellie rambeled on, hoping Harri had understood her!
 
Harri put her arm round Ellie "Sounds like you had it rough," she said symphetically "Is this Lily really that bad? Is she a witch?" Harri asked, "Oh my summer was great, and me and Kevin are doing good!" she said grinning at her friend, she hoped Ellie wasn't having too much of a bad time with her dads girlfriend.
 
Ellie grinned, "Thats good" She said, "And yes she's a witch, but she hates me, and i hate her, I feel like she's taking my dad way from me" She told Harri.
 
"Silly woman, whats she like?" Harri asked "Who could hate you?" she said laughing slightly.
 
Ellie laughed, "Thanks" She said with a smile, "Oh she's annoyingly pretty, she just flutters her eyelashes in my dad's face and he does anything for her, But when his back's turned it's growlers to me 'cos she knows i don't like her and i told my dad that in front of her!" She asnwered Harri laughing and remembering, the shock on Lily's face was unbelievable, "She's the kind of women that thinks she's everything!".
 
Harri laughed "Good for you!" she said "Aghh I hate that type! There so annoying! They think there all perfect!" she said, if someone didn't like Ellie then Harri certainly didn't like them. "Well your dad will see her for what she really is won't he?" Harri asked "He sounds like a decent bloke! He can't be fooled by her for long!" she added.
 
Ellie smiled, "Yes i hope not, I sent him a letter telling him exactly what i thought, so just have to wait for his reply, i mean it can't get any worse!" She said, hoping and praying that it couldn't!
 
Harri smiled "Well atleast he'll know what you think! And he'll take that into account surely!" Harri said "She sounds awful!" Harri agreed with Ellie.
 
"Yeh" Ellie said, perking up a little and grinning, "So, fancy a climb?" She asked, looking up the tree, she could just see a small incove, her and Harri's secret place!
 
"Course!" Harri said climbing up the tree and jumping inside, she looked at the ingrving of their names and smiled as she thought this part of her would always be here, and when they were older maybe even Harri adn Ellies kids would find this place! She laughed, she was thinking way to far ahead.
 
Ellie grinned and climbed up behind Harri, falling into the alcove as she reached it. Her eyes found there engraving instantly and she grinned, it said Ellie Sparks and Harriet Turner, Best Friends!
She loved the fact that noone could ruin there ingraving, the same as noone could ruin there friendship!

Harri smiled "Its there forever just like our friendship!" Harri said smiling as Ellie also looked at the ingraving.

((I'm off to look now!))
 
"Yehp" Ellie said with a grin. "So, any gossip?" She asked Harri, wondering if anything had been happening she didn't know about.

"No not really, except well I really really like Kevin! More then i thought I would!" Harri said blushing "Is it weird cause I'm only 12, I don't want people to think I'm taking it too seriously," she siad, she had been wondering for a while but couldn't confide in anoyone but Ellie.

Ellie smiled, "That's so sweet! Sorry." Ellie said laughing, "You're not taking it too seriously, i feel that way with Mike, but i think he's gone off me as we havn't done anything since we've been back!" Ellie said with a small sigh. Why were boys so confusing?
 
Harri sighed in relief, "Good," she said quietly, "No he can't have gone off you! Everyones been busy! You'll just have to arrange to meet up!" Harri suggested leaning back against the bark.
 
"Good idea" Ellie said with a smile as she began to play with the leaves scattered along the floor of the hole.
 
Harri smiled "The of course you'll have to report everything back to me!" she said giggling "Oh you can go to the yule ball together!" she said excitedly.
 
Ellie giggled, "Like i'd keep it to myself" She said laughing. "Oh that would be soo good, I didn't go last year!" She said, thinking about getting dressed up and heading to the Yule Ball and how exciting it would be, her bright brown eyes sparkling.
 
Harri smiled "Good!" she said laughing "Yeah, have you got a dress you can wear?" she asked excitedly.
 
"Yehp" Ellie said with a grin, remembering the light blue ball dress she had gotten for the last Yule Ball, before she had decided not to go!
"I don't know, I might get a new one though" She said, wondering if her blue one would still fit her!
 
Harri smiled "Whats the dress like?" she asked, she loved dresses.
