Henri was exploring the gardens, his interest in bugs hadn't died away, but he felt the pull of transfiguration and the sorting hat. But he was also still interested in the bugs, and the day was nice enough - for the first time in a while to merit him going outside to the gardens. henri had come out and immediately found so many bugs, he'd chased one up a tree, and then noticed another bug. he had slipped a little in his haste to see the next bug, but hadn't quite fallen. he had slipped and now was hanging upside down out of the tree, looking at the bug, with his book on the ground below him. He'd need to figure out how to pull himself up or just let himself fall, but after he got a closer look at the bug.

Sage was out exploring the grounds, wanting to be fairly familiar with her ne place of residence. (For now, at least.) She was trying to keep to herself, unseen (or unnoticed) by the other students. At least, that was her plan... but then she saw the idiot hanging from a tree. She bit back a sigh and walked over, brow arched and hands in her pockets. "What in the world are you doing?" She asked, trying to sound stern.

The voice next to him startled Henri. He hadn't expected anyone to approach and in the startling and trying to glance round at her, Henri ended up falling out of the tree, and landing on his back on the ground with a soft. "Owe," he said, just staring up, blinking a little to reorientate himself. "Sage!" he
had spotted the voice and smiled widely, even from his position of laying on the ground.

Sage rolled her eyes, not bothering to offer a hand to help him up. She crossed her arms. "Something must be wrong with your head," She scolded him lightly. "Do you make falling out of trees a habit?" She complained, nudging his side with her foot. "Don't tell me you were chasing some dumb bug." Sage griped. Did she really have to be stuck with this idiot? She wondered idly if she could be mean enough to make him leave.

Henri just shook his head and then didn't say anything, since she had told him to not say anything if he'd been chasing a bug. Instead he extended a hand, looking to be helped back to his feet. "Whatcha doin' anyway?" he asked curiously. "Are you chasing some dumb bugs? Please do tell me, if you are,"

Sage raised a brow and left his hand sitting between them for several heartbeats before letting out an exasperated sigh. She reached out and grasped it, pulling him up. "You're a dumb bug, but no. I wasn't. I was just walking, getting more familiar with the area." She explained. It was the best she was going to give him. "It was just dumb luck I found you before you really hurt yourself."

Henri rolled his eyes at her, and then laughed lightly. "I was fine," he assured her, though he likely would've done that even if he hadn't been fine. "And you know most bugs aren't actually dumb, probably dumb by like our standards but they're not actually dumb," he told her, knowing he was contradicting himself a little, but unable to explain it without launching into a much longer and more detailed explanation.

Sage snorted. "Right, sure," She agreed sarcastically. She sighed. "You are so weird," Sage shook her head. "I'm going," She turned, starting to walk away. She half expected him to follow her anyway- he seemed the type to follow her around. How had she gotten stuck with him? She bit back a sigh. She wanted to be annoyed, but maybe there was a tiny piece of her that didn't mind so much as she was saying she did.

Henri watched her turn to walk away and immediately followed after her, launching into a detailed explanation into all of the ways in which bugs were actually smart, he was sure she wanted to hear about it. she hadn't said no about what he'd said, so he was more than happy to regal her with stories about bugs and how cool and smart they were.

Sage sighed deeply. Why was he so annoying? She didn't say anything, instead just letting him follow along and chatter like an idiot while she walked the gardens. She wouldn't admit that his chatter was a little comforting, or that his current obsession was mildly interesting. "So, what," She started when he drew a breath, letting in a few breaths of blessed silence. "You're going to be some big bug guy when you grow up? An um... entologist or something?" She asked, trying to remember what the name for it was.
