Not sure what to wear Leonidas threw some of his Quidditch pants on the floor, what does one wear for a private lesson in Aerial Dueling? The class hadn't even officially started at his school but with his mother being who she is he managed to score himself a private lesson with the new Professor. He grabbed a pair of black Quidditch pants and threw on a loose T-shirt, he assumed he didn't need any padding or guards for when he practiced Quidditch, getting hit by a blunder wasn't the most pleasant experience although he had yet to have any major incidents he often came close.
Leonidas picked up his wand and quickly realized he hadn't a place to store his wand for training like this, his mother had a place to fasten her wand on her forearm but Leonidas had nothing of the sort he normally tucked it into his boots when he went flying what if there was some regulation, he imagined most students would be given the correct gear on their first day of class but he was starting before everyone else. Grabbing a pair of boots her laced them up and shoved his wand in the side of them making sure it was secure enough before grabbing his racing broom and making his way outside.

Leonidas was excited, he purposefully chose to stay in the background during most opportunities offered to him and his classmates whilst he was attending the academy, he never wanted to be noticed or had attention drawn on himself, thankfully playing Beater meant he normally protected his team and didn't really have to rely on anyone to watch his back aside from his other beater, but this opportunity was different, it was a private lesson just him and Professor Laspas who seemed like an interesting guy from the brief interaction they had had. Walking outside of the school Leonidas made his way towards the Main pitch which he asked his mother to book for his lesson so no one else would show up. Leonidas wondered if Professor Laspas would be there already waiting for him or not.

Rhex arrived at the academy's main pitch earlier than the time of his private lesson with Kida's son. He was clueless of what were his superiors' plans about this boy. The orders he had for now were to just earn Leonidas' trust and he had thought that a private lesson was a good start. The dark-haired man strode towards the centre of the pitch. He dropped a palm-sized, golden board that enlarged to one and a half meters long before hovering a few inches off the ground. He jumped on it and balanced immediately before putting weight on the front foot and darted towards the golden hoops. The wind howled around him as he performed a couple of fast laps, weaving around stand towers and rolling swiftly while maintaining direction during the flight. In the blurr of shapes, he spotted the figure of someone on the grass who had just arrived at the pitch. He slowed down and recognized the boy. Without losing his balance, he reversed abruptly and dove straight towards the ground.

"Hello Leonidas!" He greeted the boy as he jumped off the board that shrinked back into palm-size and zoomed in his hand. He walked towards the boy with a smile. "Ready for some duelling while flying?" He nodded at the broom the boy had brought with him.

Noticing a shadow cast over him Leonidas looked up and with his spare hand blocked the remaining sun from his light grey eyes. The New Professor descended before him and he noticed he wasn't on a broom but instead some board, he watched it shrink back into a small size 'cool' he muttered under his breath as he adjusted his grip on his broom, it was large and unconventional to carry around but if he could shrink it up to be small he'd have a reason to carry his broom everywhere, he briefly pondered how he could make that happen before realizing he had been asked a question 'yes sir' he responded and looked towards his broom lifting it a little to display, he had a few brooms to pick from but he decided with his lightest and most maneuverable broom 'I didn't bring anything in particular; was anything required?' he asked curiously.

The dark haired boy was excited to learn some new skills from this new professor, most other professors knew his connection and tried to play favourites but he ignored them, so it was good that one of the teachers actually showed interested other than just being Kida's Son, although he wished he brought some form of robe or jacket to throw on, the wind was particularly cool today being Spring it was hard to know how it would be from day to day.

Rhex responded to Leonidas' question in an unexpected way. His wand jerked out of his shirt's sleeve straight into his hand and aimed it at the boy. "Afoplisius!" He spat the incantation of the disarming charm in his native tongue and the broom flew out of Leonidas' grip. Rhex grasped it in midair and shot a cunning look at the teenager.
"Only vigilance is required. Be always on the ready." He replied and handed back the broom to him with an encouraging smile, no ill-will intended.

A moment of silence passed. Rhex realized that he was once that mellow boy that he now had before him, that needed to toughen up to survive the competition. The man proceeded and rolled up his sleeve on his wand hand to reveal a leather sheath strapped on his forearm. It was there where he had stashed his wand before taking Leonidas by surprise.
"You could also make good use of this." He unstrapped it and handed it over to his student. "Keep you wand always close to your hand." He advised, this time shooting a disapproving glance at Leonidas' boot where he had shoved his wand. "Place you wand in it. A light jerk and the wand will extend to your palm." He explained and let him strap it on his dominant arm first."Come on, give it a try." He prompted him to test and get the hang of it.

Admiring his broom Leo didn't register the word that Rhex has spoken, he went to look up puzzled but before he could react his broom was ripped from his grip and he stumbled forward in it's direction, Leonidas dropped to one of his knee's placing his hand on his wand before looking up at his teacher/ he sighed and stood up brushing off his knees and accepting his broom back, he knew he was far too slow in that interaction, his time at the academy had made him complacent of the actions of others, after all he spent most of his time isolated which he enjoyed, doing his own thing.

Adjusting his grip on his broom he awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck
'I don't think I can purchase vigilance from the shop' he quipped being his normal charming self trying to move past the fact he had just made a fool of himself within minutes of his private lesson. The boys silver eyes followed the direction of where a leather sheath was on his professor, he knew he would require one eventually but most of his every day clothes allowed for a place for his wand and he didn't take his wand with him during games so he just never got around to it. Graciously he accepted the item and moved his broom to tuck under his arm whilst at the same time he began to roll up his sleeve to fix it to his own arm he awkwardly tried to adjust the straps for the first time before dropping his broom so it hovered and kneeling back down to grab his wand out of his boot, he met the disapproving glance of his teacher and quickly snatched the wand out of his boot and fixed it to his arm, correcting his posture so he stood up right.

Following the encouragement he looked at the item now fixed to his arm trying to figure out what he meant by a light jerk, his mothers wasn't automated so this was a new piece of equipment to him, he moved his wrist back and nothing happened his brow furrowed as he instead moved his wrist forward which sent the wand out into his palm, he quickly grabbed it making sure it didn't go flying off into the distance.
'Whoa' he said impressed before adjusting his stance into a more dueling position 'neat' he added making some slight movements with his dominant arm making sure the new attachment didn't counter balance him too much. 'So when do we fly?' he asked eager to try it all out on a broom.

Rhex dropped down again his board that enlarged back to mountable size and hovered above the ground.
"Some things can't be bought, can they? I mean you could buy a dark detector but it would be of no use if you don't sharpen your own skills." He responded casually to Leonidas' quip and let him experiment with the sheath's mechanism, bringing a soft smile on Rhex's face the boy's reaction. He rolled up his other sleeve as well and stepped on the golden board and balanced on it.

Rhex had realized that the boy wouldn't appreciate theory, at least at this stage so he decided to proceed with the method of trial and error. "Now! Follow me!" He announced promptly at Leonidas' question and lifted into the air, steadily accelerating and flying away. Rhex bended slightly his knees as he zigzagged fast towards on set of hoops. He looked over his shoulder to see how Leonidas was faring and pointed at him his wand. The jet of light of a stunning spell zoomed towards the boy and Rhex kept his attention on him as he passed through the hoops. He was ready to react in case Leonidas wasn't able to block or dodge the spell or fell from his broom.

Leonidas was expecting a full run down of rules and regulations and the method of Aerial Dueling before he would be allowed to fly, his broom hovered aimlessly at his side he waited to hear the dangers and the safety measures he would have to follow but instead Professor Laspas took off on the golden board he had seen him on only moments ago. Leonidas grasped his broom and took strides forward so he could throw his leg over, once off the ground Leonidas shot forward at an alarming speed which to anyone not skilled with flying would have probably caused them to clutch the broom for dear life, but not for Leonidas he lazily held the broom with one hand his wand in his other.

Heading towards the hoops he watched the board in front of him glimmer in the sunlight, but for a boy with his skill he wasn't easily distracted, being a Beater he was used to sensing all kinds of objects heading in his way, he recognized the spell and as if his broom had lost all charm instantly dropped out of the air allowing the spell to go whizzing over his head, he moved his broom back up to the altitude he was at before and came up the back side of the hoops not sure if he was meant to cast a spell back
'So whats the end game here? to get the opponent off their broom? or on the ground?' he called out as he moved keeping his distance from the new professor, moving his broom in a way that he was moving in an almost serpentine pattern whilst also changing his elevation ready to move, the young boy was ready to fire some spells to show the Professor that he wasn't just a fly boy but he wanted to impress the new Professor as well and not assume he knew how the duel worked.
