Once again the time for Halloween had drawn near. The Great Hall had been transformed by many talented wands and diligent house elfs into a truly frightening yet entertaining scene. A scene fit for ghouls, ghosts and the living; although the latter would do well to watch for any pranks pulled by the former. In the middle of the darkened hall a gypsy woman spun slowly in a circle. Bangles clanged musically as she moved from pillar to post, waving her wand to direct cobwebs across tables and such.
The house tables were lovely. Cecily lowered her wand, finally happy with the decorations. It truly was an avant garde, gothic celebration; tables draped with black and silver lace, fake spiders crawled about, ceiling charmed to resemble the starry sky with a brilliant blood red full moon.
In the back of the room, toward the large doors and spilling into the entrance way were many fun activities and games students and staff alike could partake in this year, after having stuffed themselves silly. Bobbing for apples, pin the fangs on the vampire and many other games, party favors and even magical cameras had been provided for everyone to record this happy event with their friends.
Students and faculty piled in, chatting excitedly as they took in the Halloween fare. Cecily held up her arms with a large smile, the many bangled bracelets on her wrists sparkling and tinkling together. "Hello and welcome to another wonderful Halloween at Hogwarts!" She regarded their many faces and threw up her hands. "Forget the speech, let's party!" She pointed her wand straight above her head and confetti burst out to dust the students.
Food appeared on all the tables, a feast fit for saints and devils. Laughing, she took her seat at the table and dug in.
