The brunette sat at the table in the library, eyes flicking across the pages of her book. Roxan wasn't one to go talk to the others in her year. She was rather quiet, and got nervous when speaking to more than three people at one time. And even when she did speak, her voice was as quiet as a mouse. She couldn't help it. Growing up at home had never required her to speak to many people other than her family. Being home-schooled when in primary school had it's perks. Then public junior school was ok. But, Roxan still wasn't good with talking to people. That's why she stuck to her books. And why she was so shocked being a Gryffindor. She thought she would've been a Ravenclaw or something for how hard she tried at school. Still, the Sorting Hat must've known what it was doing... or else it wouldn't have placed in her in her house. She just had to trust it's decision.

Turning another page in her book, Roxan frowned slightly when she realised she had finished it already. Books really didn't last that long, didn't they... not with so much time to spare. Pushing her chair out and standing up, she gripped her book with both hands and went to return it to it's shelf. She vaguely remembered it being on a rather high one, and being petite in height, Roxan had needed a stepladder to reach it. Finding the metal contraption tat she had used previously, she placed her book on it and pushed it so it was in the right place. As much as magic would've seen the easier option... she knew not to be completely dependant on magic all the time. Yes, magic was very helpful, but Roxan also knew that doing things by hand was also as satisfying. Step by step, she climbed the ladder before slipping the book back in its place, and taking the sequel to it.

Placing both of her feet firmly on the ground, she leant against the bookshelf, reading the back of it. Tilting her head slightly, Roxan nodded and released a sigh. Well, she didn't have much else to do with her day.

Steve sat in the Hufflepuff common room. He was bored. Simple as. He hadn't made much friends, hadn't spoken to much people. The only people she had spoken to were the two Hufflepuffs he had met on his first day in Hogwarts. Since then he had been checking out the castle. He had found a drum kit down in the conglomerated club classroom. He had decided to join. It sounded interesting and how knew he might make some friends out of it. He was glad though there was a drum kit. He had been worried there would be known and he wouldn't be able to play but he was delighted there was one here. Now he could go down whenever he wanted and play his heart out, that was unless someone else was there. That would suck but Steve could easily go to an abandoned room and sing his heart out, or even draw some comics. Unfortunately for him he wasn't in the mood for anything like that. He was still a bit home sick which explained his mood. He had just received a letter from home. It had been one from his mom asking how he was and what he thought of Hogwarts, the usual. What had really broke his head was a letter from his younger sister and a picture from his youngest. Needless to say he had barely understood the letter, his sister had only started school and half of the letter was rubbish but at the end she had managed to write I love you and I miss you. His little sister had a drawing that he guessed was meant to resemble the whole family together. Until then he had been dealing pretty well with leaving home but this had just brought it all back to him.

Steve quickly got up from his seat, he needed to do something. Anything at all. He ran out of the common room and onto the fourth corridor. In his hurry to get out he managed to knock into a poor girl who was carrying a bunch of books. He stopped what he was doing and turned to her "I'm so sorry"He said bending down to help her pick up the books. "Let me help you"He said taking some books. She thanked him and said she was going to the library. Steve followed her. He wasn't sure what age she was, she had thankfully forgiven him for knocking straight into her. Steve really needed to get his act together. Once they arrived into the library Steve left the books where the girl asked. She thanked him and Steve nodded, embarrassed. " No bothers"He said quietly before leaving. Any normal person would stay and talk to the girl but Steve wasn't embarrassed and couldn't look her in the eyes. He quickly walked away and down an aisle of books. He wasn't looking where he was going, he was continually looking back to make sure the girl wasn't going to try and talk to him. Suddenly he walked right into something hard "Ow"Steve said loudly as pain suddenly burst from his nose. He looked up, is vision blurred from the tears in his eyes. He could make out a ladder, why the hell was there a ladder in the middle of the aisle?

The young Gryffindor jumped about ten foot in the air when she had a clash. Brown eyes wide, she clasped her book tight to her chest and looked around. Oh shoot! She thought. Some boy had walked into the ladder. Roxan bit her lip. That had been her fault. Ah, merlin damnit! Putting her book in the lethal mechanism, she faced the boy, and looked at his nose. "Um... You o-ok?" Letting out a small whine, she pushed the heavy thing that caused this to the edge, as far away as she could get it. Hopefully it wouldn't cause any damage over there. Them, she walked over to him again. "Your nose...! Do you... feel ok?" Roxan's voice was quiet, and she pulled her sleeves over her hands.

Roxan shuffled her feet. She felt really bad now... Really, really bad! She looked down, brown eyes trying to keep away from looking at this boy. A light tint of pink was dusting her cheeks this had been really embarrassing. When did she leave that stupid ladder there?! "I'm... very sorry!" Swallowing, she let out a shaky breath and looked back at the boy's nose, wincing lightly.

Luckily Steve's nose didn't seem to be bleeding. That would have been super embarrassing and annoying. He had just got a bang, he would be grand. That didn't stop the pain though. His nose was stinging and his eyes were watering. Steve wiped his eyes angry at himself for acting this way. He was a small bit annoyed that someone had left the ladder in the middle of the aisle. Thankfully no one had been on the ladder because he would have knocked him off and they would probably be kicked out of the library. His vision started clearing as he heard a voice. He could just make out a girl moving the ladder. He could barely hear her as all he could hear was the blood pumping in his ears. "I'm okay, don't worry"He said after a few minutes of regaining his proper hearing and sight.

This was obviously the person who had left the ladder there. She seemed small and quiet and nervous. Steve knew she obviously hadn't left it there on purpose and felt bad. He could also see that she was blushing, clearly embarrassed "You're grand , don't worry about it"He said moving his nose around. It was okay now. It might be a little bruised but he'd live. Before it got awkward he decided to introduce himself "I'm Steve"He said putting out his hand. It was a sign of forgiveness and friendliness.
