Thomas sat back leisurely in his armchair as he stared into the fireplace that was located across the room, but still close enough for him to slightly feel it's warmth. His Home was nothing as big as the childhood home he grew up in with all of his family before they were murdered off but it was a place he had grown comfortable in. He used to have a wife and quite a few children running around but most of them were killed off over time so now it was mostly him and a few house elves. Sometimes his few remaining cousins came to visit but now that Nicolette had her own family to worry about and Nicolas was teaching at Hogwarts their visits became else frequent. Thomas didn't always mind being alone though, sometimes not having someone around was calming and relaxing. Especially recently with the whole elections thing going on now, he always had people in his face now and sometimes it made him want to wring his own neck. He was determined to win this though and if that meant people were going to hover so be it. When a House-elf offered him some tea he waved it off for now before deeply telling it return in a little bit because he would probably want some then. Right now the golden eyes man was currently expected some company, or rather someone that was coming over for reasons he found quite annoying but decided to agree regardless. Apparently some Aurors were assigned to be Thomas' Guard. And he was meeting one of them today, hopefully this Auror could answer some of his question as well as be willingly to commit to trying to have a decent conversation with Thomas.

Even if they did not share the same views and was more of a solitary man he did like an occasional conversation or two. And if this Auror was supposed to be his guard hopefully he could find some common ground so he would trust this person, even if he didn't think he was really risking that much with the platform he had. "When the Auror arrives, bring him or her in here." Thomas started as he muttered to another house-elf his instructions, he managed to pull himself from the comfort of his armchair and stood over by the fire for a moment. The closer and closer the elections came the more he was risking, but Thomas was going to fight with every last big of energy he had left.

Vincent was given an assignment today and that was something that was worked really well with his schedule and gave him something to do other than just train and wait for Alyssa Snow, the love of his life, to get home from school. Vincent had a partner, Irene Meredith that he did not know well other than the fact that she worked at the office with him. Vincent wore a casual outfit, and he looked up the address to the candidate, whom was running for the pure-bloods, and he groaned. Thomas Hensel. He didn't want to protect him. But it was an assignment, and he wondered if he had anything against Part-Veelas. His grandmother was a muggle-born as well. But Vincent was not about to bring these facts up. He apparated to the address and he opened the gate with a flick of his wand. He put the wand away, looked around with his blue eyes, before he braved his way to the door. With a knock of his fist, a noise erupted from the sound of his knuckles thumping on the door. He glanced down when a house elf answered the door and led him inside, Vincent at first did not know what to think other than Be on your guard. He was led into a room with an older man, which Vincent did not recognize. Though he boldly walked up to the man and he stuck his hand out for a proper greeting, "Vincent Chevalier. I will be your guard as well as one of the Aurors performing background checks. How do you do?"

Thomas turned to face the Auror expecting someone far different but when he got a good look at the Auror his golden eyes widened slightly in worry. "My god, your just a kid! Oh I apologize I am just merely shocked at how young you are yet willing to be an Auror at times such as these. Thomas Hensel, pleasure to meet you." Thomas motioned for Vincent to follow him once he finished shaking the boys hand. Thomas sat back down in his dark green armchair before he motioned for Vincent to sit in the one across from him so they could talk or whatever the poor boy as here for. It was still unknown to Thomas why this was necessary at all, the didn't need to be guarded one bit especially by a kid that probably had a lot to live for then babysitting some old man that was probably far to into politics to really associate with. A House-elf came by and asked if Thomas wanted any tea before another one came along and asked the same thing of Vincent, since it was unknown if the boy preferred anything else or not. Once the thing scampered away Thomas fixed his gold eyes onto Vincent eerily before he smirked.

"This is what you came here for...to pry into my past? I must also ask why you people think I need to be guarded at all? Is there something I should be concerned about?" Thomas asked wryly, he wanted to know what was going on and why people thought this needed to be done. The background check didn't bother him either as he had nothing to hide at all, if the boy wanted to know what suffering was Thomas' past would surely give him a nightmare or two to think about.

Vincent raised his eyebrow when Thomas called him a kid. Why do I always get that response? Nonetheless, Thomas shook his hand and motioned for him to take a seat. Vincent did just that and he made himself comfortable by sitting up straight and looking almost professional. He said that he did not want anything when a house elf came by, and once it went off to do whatever, Vincent turned his blue eyes to look at the older man. He had weird, golden eyes that just creeped him out. Vincent suppressed a shudder before he returned a hard stare back at the man. He attempted to mimic his father and his coldness but it was impossible for Vincent. But hell if he did not try. "Actually, just to make sure that you aren't some dark lord or a killer or a Death Eater. I don't know why you must be guarded, but at times like these, you might be attacked by a civilian or something. People have been getting killed left and right, and dad recently took a Death Eater to Azkaban. You will never know, Thomas." Vincent shrugged lightly, but with the way he was being, Vincent was more concerned by him attacking others rather than vise versa. Vincent leaned back against the cushions, and he complimented, "You have a nice place here, by the way." Anything to lighten the atmosphere in this room.

Thomas was a bit enlightened that despite the fact that this Auror was quite young he took his job very professional when chances were high that he didn't exactly support Thomas. He would hopefully soon have an idea on the boys ideals if the Auror wanted at all to speak to him. "Well I can assure you that I am neither but feel fry to look into it to make sure, I have nothing to hide. I see. Let me ask you something though young man, have you ever even come face to face with a Death Eater let alone dealt with one?" This boy was supposed to protect him but depending on the age of the Death Eater that came along this boy may or may not have an issue if he had never tried to deal with one before. They could be a bunch of nasty people when wanted, solid proof was in those Thomas had met in the past, it was too late for him to do or say anything when he found out who they were. Settling further into the chair Thomas glanced at the fire eagerly, he sometimes liked the younger crowd because some of the things that came from their mouths was a riot.

"Thank you, it gets a bit lonely here at times though. Which reminds me that in a bit a close relative of mine might stop by." Thomas admitted as his eyes turned away from the fire and back onto the Boy known to him now as Vincent. Once thing the man immediately noticed was the boys eyes, they were a very stunning blue that made them easy to look into without flinching or being weary of him. "Tell me boy, before we get any further into getting to know one another. What are your views on Muggle-borns, Muggles, and Half-Breeds? I'm just merely curious." Thomas wanted to know whether or not this boy agreed with his views or if he didn't. It would not affect the way Thomas thought of him but merely whether or not he needed to be careful what he said, this boy was protecting him afterall.

Vincent was not one to act cowardly in the face of danger, but he was not about to laugh at the face as well. He knew much better than that. He was his father's son, and that was enough to keep him going and enough to keep him in line. Vincent ran his fingers through his hair, and he listened to Thomas. Slowly, Vincent shook his head, "No, but they have taken away my mom before. I remember waking up when I was two to look outside and see that dark mark hanging in the sky. So, I think I can handle dealing with one. My dad has put a lot of them behind bars, so I am hoping that I have some of his genes in me." His mother was a good Auror too, so he had it from both sides. He just hoped that he could count on his bloodline. Vincent hated Death Eaters and their like. He hated them, because they destroyed his family. Then he remembered that he had not heard from his dad in a while. He needed to stop by on the Auror. Last time Vincent saw him, something was bothering him. Vincent turned his blue eyes to golden ones once more, and he nodded once. "Good that you have family to come and visit then. When is he or she arriving?" Vincent wondered if he knew this person that would be arriving or not. He had met someone with golden eyes before but they did not click in his mind. When he was asked on his views, Vincent answered, "Everyone bleeds red blood. That's it. You can figure out the rest from there." You can't get much more equal than that.

Thomas stayed silent as the young boy explained his experiences with the Death Eaters since he found it a little interesting that the Death Eaters had taken away the boys mother. "I hope our sake that your right. I'm sorry to hear about your mother though, in a way I understand. I lost my entire family over the years." Thomas started out softly he was trying to be as friendly and genuine with the boy as possible even though there was no also an awkward air in the room for Thomas. They both lost family over the years but he had to admit that the boy was sort of lucky to have lost his mother at a young age rather then be older and actually understand the concept of it. Thomas was fairly young still when he lost his family but he was old enough to actually know what was going on and remember it even to this day how there was so much blood, all the screaming, everything. "I'm not sure when he'll be along. He's never very accurate when he tries to guess when he'll arrive." Thomas shook his head and sighed when he thought of his older cousin Nicolas who was such a carefree person at times that he sometimes forgot that he needed to do actual work and stuff if he ever wanted to get that far in life. Then again Nicolas seemed quite content with his life anyways. Even if the love of that mans life had been killed and everything.

Hearing Vincent's opinion made Thomas smirk. "I once thought the same way you did, but then I realize it's not the blood that makes us different. But the different worlds we come from....if you know what I mean." The muggleborns for example were brought up in a world without magic. They were not raised in the world that those who were born into the magical world. Half-breeds were half human half creature, why would someone want to live their life only being considered half-human. Hoping that Vincent would try to get more involved he wondered if Vincent would be swayed by something he said.

Vincent glanced over at Thomas and he wondered what family he had lost, when he had a relative coming over to visit. “I’m sorry to hear about your loss. The only family member I have left is my dad. Everyone else died. It is nice we have something in common, just not in favorable circumstances.” Vincent sighed slightly, and he wondered what would happen if a Death Eater would roam in and try to kill Thomas Hensel. But why should they? They would love what he stood for. That would be horrible for his own account, since he was supporting anyone but Thomas Hensel. Vincent was just a lad still, and he didn’t know who to support, but he knew who to not support. Vincent’s blue eyes roamed the room that they were currently in, and he wondered if there were something dark in this room. He did not see anything worth investigating. Vincent was going to be bored for the time that he was here. Vincent wanted to go write Alyssa a letter. He wanted to tell her that he was guarding someone, and that someone happened to be against what he believed in; equality. Vincent nodded, “All right. I look forward to meeting your relative.” Vincent honestly did not know if he did look forwarded to the meeting or not. He did not know what to expect from the relative. Did he believe in the same way that Thomas Hensel believed? Was he too pure-blood? Vincent ran his fingers through his hair nervously. He felt rather intimidated by Thomas, and that was not something he liked. Vincent raised his eyebrows at Thomas’ words. Vincent inquired, almost sarcastically only with a calm, cool voice, “What planet did you come from, Jupiter? Cause I come from planet Earth and from what I know, there is only one ‘world’ here. A world where humans and animals co-existence under one single sun.” Vincent rolled his eyes and he shrugged lightly. So, it was what he thought, and he was basically saying that he was equal with everyone, and wanted equality with everyone. And if the Death Eaters did not like it, they could remove the stick from their arses and grow up.

Thomas raised an eyebrow when Vincent told him that it was only him and his father now because for a moment it reminded Thomas of when it was just him and his mother. This was before he knew that Nicolette and Nicolas were still alive, such a pity he didn't know such a thing earlier. "Just you and your father? Are you an only child then?" Thomas himself had a brother once long ago, and a father too but they had both died so long ago he could barely remember their faces at times. But there was a time to let go in one's life and Thomas had chosen that path very long ago to save himself from the suffering this would bring. Vincent told he that it was nice that they had something in Common even if it wans't in favorable circumstances and Thomas smirked just slightly. Oh how he loved the youth sometimes. The elder male sat up more in his chair before he folded his hands together and rested them on his leg patiently. "I'm sure we have a lot more in common then you realize." Thomas stated. He would have chuckled at his own words but a part of him felt that doing so would be a little creepy. He was a creepy man though whether he wanted to admit it or not. Thomas felt it was the eyes, it unnerved a lot of people. But then again it wasn't something the Hensel's could really help but it was something they had all been born with. It seemed to be lessening out a little with the newer descendants though because it seemed like one of Nicolas' children didn't have gold eyes, he had yet to find out about Nicolette's children.

"It's been a long time since I've spoken to a smart-a**. People continue to find and dream for equality but it something that will never happen. Muggleborns grow in a world without magic most of their lives then suddenly they are brought here, why expose the Magical world to people who don't belong here? Half-breeds are more tolerable but at the same time just as wrong. How can man-kind try to accept a person who isn't even fully human themselves and able to bring various amounts of danger." Thomas could say so much more about these types of people and even get into muggles but if the boy wanted to smart of Thomas would just explain to him how lowly he felt those people could be at times. He did think it was harsh but it was something that he felt should be thought of, it's differences that separate people and forever what would continue to separate them. "Understand now?" Soon Nicolas should arrive and hopefully would break this ice, he wasn't as prejudice as Thomas was but he had his moments. Actually from what Thomas knew he was more afraid of them over anything.

Vincent answered, "Only child, yes." Vincent sometimes wished that he had siblings, but he did not. He wanted a little brother and sister; yes, he wanted both. Sometimes it was only for him being an only child. He only had his dad, and half the time, his dad was not around. And Vincent was always worried that his father would get killed on the job. Vincent nodded at Thomas' statement, but in his mind he thought, No way, we do not have a lot in common. Vincent let out a soft sigh and he glanced over at Thomas with his blue eyes, brighter than his fathers and not as vibrant as his blue. Vincent chuckled at Thomas' words and thought that they were something else. Vincent pointed out, "Muggle-borns have magic in them. Keeping them in a world without magic, they don't belong there. They belong here, where they can learn their magic and control it and use it for good. About half-breeds, in most cases, it is just like dwarfism and giant-ism. As for werewolves and Veelas, similar to Animagi. You just have to keep an open mind about things. Now, full blooded creatures, they are a different story." Vincent knew that there was no getting into this man's old skull. "Look, we aren't going to settle into the other's beliefs, so we might as well just shut up about them before it ends in a huge fight, and this would stop it from getting it out of control. Okay?" Vincent was trying to be reasonable with the man.

Although Nicolas realized that he probably should have arrived at his cousin Thomas' house probably an hour or so ago he seemed to keep putting it off till just about now thanks to a certain pretty lady that seemed to live around here. The front doors were opened by a small house elf that squeaked a hello to him, which he responded to with a friendly wave as he strode past it and into the room that he figured Thomas was in along with that Auror Guard of his. "Hey Thomas! Sorry I'm late man but you have this really pretty neighbor that I uh...sorry." Nicolas paused halfway when he noticed Thomas looked pretty pissed off at him right now, to his cousins dismay Nicolas wasn't really anything like him and it was probably pretty obvious by this point. He was much more carefree and easygoing about things, he wasn't a womanizer either but merely he really liked to just talk to people whenever they seemed friendly enough to him. Within less than a moment his gold eyes caught onto the young looking Auror sitting across from his cousin and gave a brotherly grin. This boy didn't look much older than the older students he taught at Hogwarts, but if he was recruited as an Auror he must have had some talented skills because it was not easy to get into the business of being an Auror. Nicolas would know.

"Oh hey, I'm Thomas' cousin Nicolas! I teach Potion for all the upper years at Hogwarts New Zealand. Nice to meet you." He held out his hand for the young man to shake his hand before he went over to an open chair and pulled it over so he could sit next to his cousin and try to hold a conversation with the young man in the room. For a moment he was tempted to ask the young man what Auror training was like these days but decided against it for now because he honestly didn't even know the guys name yet so it would probably be an awkward question.

Thomas actually sort of respected this young man now because he stuck by his beliefs and managed to actually politely end the conversation unlike most other who spoke to him and disagreed did. Settling back into his chair her turned his eyes to the door and frowned when he saw that Nicolas had finally arrived and was trying to use some excuse to get the heat taken off of him. Thomas narrowed his bright green eyes at the man before Nicolas actually shut up them Thomas rolled them once again at man's behavior, he was must too carefree for his liking. "Lovely for you to finally join us. Nicolas used to be an Auror like you Vincent." Thomas commented softly. He had no problem with the Aurors because they did their job and thats how things were supposed to were, without people keeping an eye on the streets and locking up the Criminals New Zealand would be ripped apart by criminal actions. What Thomas didn't like was their fairness towards all different bloods and races when they didn't deserve it. Glancing at Nicolas he was tempted to question where on earth Nicolette was but then he remembered being told that she didn't like Aurors for some reason. Thomas was unsure why but it was probably due to her feeling abandoned by them in her youth.

"However, I agree. We should not talk about our belief's any longer, it appears your dead set on keeping yours at the time. Perhaps we should just get to know each other better then." Thomas wanted to drill into the boys head about the wrongness of his belief but if the boy would not listen or open his eyes then Thomas could not force him. Nicolas wasn't blood prejudice either from what Thomas had figured but the man did have his issues with the others. Though he did accept the Half-breeds as long as they descended from a magical family. Once again; the man was too carefree for Thomas to agree with.

Vincent glanced up with his blue eyes when another man with golden eyes entered the room. The family resemblance could not be ignored. He stood up and shook the man's hand before sitting back down. "Vincent Chevalier. Pleasure to meet you too." Vincent glanced from Thomas to Nicolas when Thomas mentioned that Nicolas was an Auror at one point, but now he taught Potions at Hogwarts New Zealand. Vincent glanced over at Thomas and he nodded curtly, "Yep. Mine won't be changing at any point. I was not raised to believe anything either." Vincent shrugged once more. Vincent believed in equality, and nothing either of these two men could or would ever change that fact. He loved his beliefs, and he would not pretend to believe in the same thing as the one he as going to protect.

Nicolas raised an eyebrow when Vincent commented about him not changing his views or beliefs or something and suddenly rolled his eyes at his cousin. "Dude quit trying to convert people. You have enough psycho's agreeing with you." Nicolas chuckled, he did somewhat agree with Thomas but at the same time thought that people were entitled to their own opinion. He meant it as more of a friendly comment though to break the tension between Vincent and Thomas because he definitely picked up on the tension between the two. He knew things would have been even worse if Nicolette was here because of how much she disliked the Aurors. She felt them all to be no worse than all other criminals but with special privileges because they liked to 'play hero'. Nicolas secretly saw no problem with them even though they had not done much to help those taken prisoner by James even though he knew they knew about the lab and stuff. Shifting he grinned at Vincent softly, he seemed like a good kid. But he seemed similar for some reason, or at least the name sounded familiar to Nicolas for some reason. Where had he heard it before?

"Do you have Siblings or family at Hogwarts New Zealand Vincent?" Nicolas peered closely at the male sitting across from him and his cousin Thomas. Sometimes he had students related to people outside of school and recognized their faces, their names, or just stuff about him that reminded him of the person. It was one of his favorite things about teaching. Well that and it gave him an excuse to brew more and more Potions then he had been doing before.

"I do not convert people." Thomas responded softly as he crossed his arms over his chest and shot his cousin and annoyed look that told him to stop while he was ahead of himself. What he did was tell people his opinion and if they agreed with him and wanted to see him go further they supported him and went to his speeches and such. It annoyed him to no end that he was being picked on by his own family member about this. "I'm trying to become Minister which means spreading my opinion." Thomas rolled his eyes. His eyes locked onto Vincent when Nicolas asked if he had any siblings or family at Hogwarts New Zealand. He knew the young man had no siblings but was unsure if he had any other family anywhere out there that lived in New Zealand. Besides he figured that Nicolas would be unhappy if Thomas opened his mouth and answered for the young man.

Vincent snickered when Nicolas accused Thomas of trying to convert Vincent into the ways of a pure-blood supremest. Vincent glanced over at Nicolas' question, and he thought for a moment. He shook his head and answered, "No, I don't have any siblings or family going to Hogwarts New Zealand. It is just me and my dad. He is an Auror too." Vincent turned his blue eyes to Thomas and wondered if he would ever have a good time guarding this guy. He had a feeling however, that he was not going to like the elections, and like having to guard someone who was for everything that Vincent was against.
