Aras wasn't sure if he was going to be trusted with a position at Slytherin's quidditch team again. The lineups weren't yet announced by their captain and his chances were quite slim taking into consideration that during last match he didn't even show up. He thought he had nothing to lose and tried out again. The team's practices were something he was going to look forward each week and a good way to kill some of his free time. Regardless of their captain's decision, Aras was spending a couple of hours daily at the pitch to get in good shape and practice shots.
He was planning to do so this afternoon as well but to his disappointment, he found out that Hufflepuff team had booked the pitch for their weekly practice. He considered a jog around the grounds but then he had a more devious idea. When it came to both dueling and quidditch, Aras Ivanauskas had the same philosophy. Know the strengths and weaknesses of your adversaries. Embrace your opponent, just to be easier to strangle him when the time was right. Hufflepuff had been doing a spectacular job the past few years and they had won the quidditch cup last semester. It would be good to know their strategies or at least the chasers' tactics. He could share the information he was going to obtain with the Slytherin team or just keep it to himself for his own self-improvement. He just had to be careful not to be seen.
Dressed casually, with no robes and insignia betraying his house or his connection with any quidditch team, he made his way to the pitch earlier than the time that Hufflepuffs were going to meet. He had noticed during Slytherin's tryouts that the decorative tapestry on one of the stand towers had a hole on it, possibly from a misdirected bludger. It was big enough for someone to spy from within the wooden stairway that was leading to the top of the tower, but small enough to remain unseen. So Aras was there hidden when Hufflepuff team arrived at the pitch. It was quite tiring standing there behind the cover of the decorative tapestry that was covering the whole tower's wooden frame but he hoped to see something that he could use to his advantage.
Half an hour passed and the sneaky slytherin hadn't seen anything special. No tactics were presented so far. Just laps around the oval pitch and casual shots to the goal posts. Aras had started realizing that he was wasting his time there when something ripped the cloth of the tapestry a few inches away from him, opening a second, bigger hole this time. The bludger darted past him and punched through the the wooden wall behind. He looked out of the new hole and saw the beaters zooming his way. He started storming down the tower's stairs and reached the base where he left the pitch from an emergency exit. Believing he had escaped, he slowed down and started walking casually his way through the grounds. He glanced over his shoulder and to his disappointment, Aras saw someone on a broom flying his way from the pitch. He decided to play dumb in case he was going to be addressed. He could convince them that he wasn't at that tower stand.
