Springtime weather in New Zealand was unpredictable to say the least; something Dash had gathered over her childhood, of sunny mornings laden with frost that felt chillier than winter, and of overcast days that dulled the newly blooming flowers. Springtime was known for having what felt like every season appear in the space of a day, sun leading to overcast skies, leading into a full downpour in a matter of a few hours. Dashley, despite knowing what the weather could be like hadn't been prepared for it to rain so suddenly, so heavily on her way back to the castle after visiting the gardens. It caused her to scream loudly, moving a hand to grip the pink beret on her head in the hope it wouldn't blow away in the wind and inevitably ruin her hair more than the rain already had. She ran as fast as she could to the great lawn, seeking shelter underneath a large tree and moving to lean against the center of the trunk. "Ugh! My hair!" She shouted in exasperation, moving her hands to try and scrunch some of the water from the curls she'd spent an hour styling that morning.
