Gazing out the window

[Jaken Styx]

Jaken walks up to the tower for the first time. His eyes looked out the window. He wondered if she would even read the note and come up to the tower to meet with him. He sighed, and he felt rather nervous, even with the potion of luck still coursing through his veins. He waited patiently, and smiled to himself. He wasn't wearing his robes today, and it felt nice to be back into his old clothing. The sun wasn't shining as severe as it had been.

There weren't any students in the tower right now, and it felt good to have a private meeting with her if she were to show. He hoped with all his strength that she would.

Quite unlike herself under the influence, Estrella found herself skipping down the corridors and up the several flights of stares, gathering odd looks from many people. Underclassmen might wonder why the oldest Ravenclaw prefect was acting so silly, but at the moment she didn't care. Felix Felicis was absolutely wonderful. It compressed all of her troubles to the side so much she forgot they were even there. I need to learn how to make this stuff! she found herself thinking, knowing full well that if she knew how to make it she would be drinking this potent substance all the time. It was way better than that glass of goblin made wine she had consumed.

Ignoring the burning pain in her calves as she almost literally flew up the stairs to the North Tower, finding herself to be here quite lately, she moved into the small room to find Jaken. Grinning broadly at him from ear to ear, more so than she would usually, she inquired quite good naturedly, "So, what's up?" She was inclined to be overly giggly at this point but now she didn't care. She didn't care if she sounded silly if she could feel this happy all the time. Is this how the Hufflepuffs do it?

Jaken felt rather calm to be under the potion. This was his happiest feeling, him being as calm and smiling. He heard someone coming toward the location he was at. Jaken turned and leaned against the wall, wondering who it was. Not surprised, he sees Estrella, under the influence of the potion.

Jaken laughed once he saw Estrella being all giggly. It wasn't like her. Then again, he wasn't like himself either. On his eay up to the towers, he found his lucky coin from Bulgaria stowed in his pant's pocket. After hearing her ask, Jaken gave her a warm smile, "Well, first of all, I didn't expect you to even show up, considering that you don't even know much about me. And second, I was meaning to ask you a question." Jaken had gotten right down to his purpose, but wondered whether or not he should ask her now, or wait a few moments.

Estrella beamed as she looked back to Jaken, finding that she was teetering back and forth on her ankles, quite like a five year old. Holding her hands behind her back, she inquired, "Oh, what is your question? Of course I would come! You're pretty cool." Under normal circumstances she would not really be using that word to describe a person, but she felt that today, nothing could go wrong.

She cocked her head to the side, interested in what he had to say. She wished this feeling of euphoria would last for eternity.

Jaken giggled, something he would never do under any circumstance, at her child-like behavior. Jaken would have felt nervous over what he wanted to ask her. He seemed like he was on top of the world. He finally answered, "I couldn't help but wonder if you would like to attend the Yule Ball this year, with an ex Durmstang student such as myself." Jaken thought that he sounded smooth, something he doesn't do a lot.

Did I just ask a girl out to a dance? Especially a girl that I have only met once? Not that it matters anymore, I'm happy. She is an awesome girl, so I wonder what her answer is. Jaken waited eagerly for her responce.

Putting her hands to her sides, Estrella's eyes flickered in surprise as she looked to Jaken. The flush of embarrassment that had risen within her soon disippated, appearing only as a rush of pink on the tips of her cheeks. How was she going to answer? She had to say yes. But what was the right way?

Ah, screw it, she thought to herself. "Of course," she stated warmly, grinning broadly. She definitely had not been expecting this, as this was only practically the second time she had met with Jaken, but it was still awesome nonetheless. She felt as if she were queen of the world at the moment, still feeling a rush of euphoria from the Felix Felicis. How could things get any better? Her stress was gone, and she had a date to the Yule Ball!

Jaken beamed, though he was under the effects of the potion. He saw the embarassment on her face. He laughed, "I know you weren't expecting it, but I figured I ought to ask you, before some other guy got you first." Jaken then wondered how much time was left with the potion. The effects were still running ariot. Surely they would dissipate soon. He wondered whether he would still decide to go with her once the effects wore off, or would he be mad?

Jaken then laughed to himself. He wouldn't get mad over something as little as this. He talked to her for a long time before this, revealed some information he wouldn't have over just one meeting. Especially his predictament with his previous relationship. He flushed a bit of a red tone. He really was starting over, with an awesome beginning of the school year. He had a date to the ball! He felt majorly excited.

Estrella's grin spread from ear to ear, quite flattered by his statement. She found it even the more funny because she had not expected to even have a date for this year's Yule Ball. She was planning on simply skipping it. Now that she had a date, however, she couldn't say that she was sad about it either.

Beaming, she stated, "So, did you want to go flying or something? I mean, there's not too much to do up here." Except snog, and that wasn't really in her regime right now. For Merlin's sake, she had just met the kid.
