Personality: Gabriel is always cheerful, and quite silly, when he's not working, though when he is working, he's very focused and serious. He's extremely chatty, and knows how to have fun whatever he's doing. He is rather naïve and childlike at times, and gets confused easily, though he can also be mature, and is hard to embarass. He is very hardworking, and never quits once he has set his mind to a task. Gabriel dislikes animals, and hasn't had any pets since he was three years old. He also has very bad spelling (though he is always sure to triple check his spelling before tattooing words on anyone) and dislikes writing things. He is very bad with money, and though he earns a fair bit, he spends it easily, and almost never has much in the way of savings, though he always pays his bills, and a little of his pay each week automatically goes into a saving account for when he is able to open his own tattoo parlour.

History: Gabriel's father died before he was born, and Gabriel grew up never knowing him. He was born and raised in Dunedin New Zealand, where he had a reasonably average childhood, being accepted to Hogwarts Scotland when he was eleven. At Hogwarts he was fairly popular, and had lots of friends. It was there that he figured out that he liked both men and women, and had his first boyfriend (A disastrous relationship that only lasted a week.) and it was also there that he developed a love of drawing. Whenever things got too much or he needed a little time to himself, he would climb one of the towers until he was totally alone, and just sketch whatever he felt. When he was seventeen, on a dare he got a tattoo done by a friend, a blue star on his ankle. He scratched at the scabs though, and the tattoo is ruined by scarring. That didn't stop him though, and soon afterwards he got his lip pierced, again on a dare, by the same friend. When he was eighteen he tried to tattoo himself with a sewing needle and writing ink, a matching blue star on his wrist, though it didn't work at all, and he had it retouched professionally later in life, when he had his sleeves done. When Gabriel graduated Hogwarts he started an apprenticeship at a tattoo parlour in Edinburgh, where he learned all he knows about tattooing. He stayed there until his apprenticeship was finished (at which point most of his body was covered in tattoos) and then moved back to New Zealand, where he lived with his mum and got a job at a local tattoo parlour. He moved out when he was 25, getting his own flat, where he lives now.

-Charlot Linette Blume - Charlot and her younger sister Adeline grew up in France, with a French mother and a New Zealand-Jewish father. They moved back to New Zealand when Charlot was twenty and Adeline was fifteen, and Charlot (Who had originally planned to go to medical school and become a doctor) fell in love and married, becoming pregnant at twenty one. Her husband was killed in a car accident while she was still pregnant though, and she almost broke down. She stayed strong though, and raised Gabriel as well as she could, sending him to Hogwarts Scotland when he was eleven, as at the time it was the nearest wizarding school. When Gabriel was seven, she completed training as a nurse, and started working at the nearest hospital while Gabriel was at school, to bring in extra money. She doesn't speak to her family much, but despite how hard her life has been, she is very happy most of the time, and she and Gabriel love each other immensely.
-Keelin Teague Flaherty - Keelin and his brother Tarin grew up in Ireland, but when Keelin was 23 he moved to New Zealand because he was given a scholarship to study Medicine at Otago University. There, he met Charlot, and married her. He was out drinking with friends one night while she was pregnant, and was involved in a car accident. He sustained heavy injuries on impact, including several broken limbs and a severed spinal cord, and died on the way to hospital. The other passengers and driver of the car survived the accident. Gabriel has always known what happened to him, but beyond being curious about who his father was, isn't affected by it much.
-Fauve Miette Claude Blume and Tobias Joshua Blume - Gabriel's maternal grandparents, Fauve is French, and grew up in France. She went to Otago University when she was 19 to study teaching, and met Tobias. Tobias is New Zealand-Jewish, and went to Otago Uni to study English. He and Fauve fell in love instantly, and when they finished university, they moved to France together and married, having two children in France, Charlot and Adeline. They moved back to New Zealand when Charlot was 20 and Adeline was 15.
