Hazel loved creating things. For the first few years at Hogwarts, she had mostly focused on accessoires, like clay earrings or beaded necklaces, but now... she had really focused on fabric over break. She was able to sew things together pretty well, though she knew she could still use the practice. It felt a little silly to make clothes at Hogwarts where they had to wear their uniform for 90% of the time, but it was what Hazel liked to do. She had headed to the arts room, grabbed a dress form, and was now draping fabric over it to make herself a skirt. It was going to be so colorful and fun, she couldn't wait. She had gathered different fabrics with different colors and patterns and she was planning to combine them in some way, then adding some colorful buttons for decoration too. She cut some fabric and hummed as she started to sew pieces together, completely in her element.

Marley enjoyed everything that was arts and crafts. She loved making jewellery from the beads she had or anything that she could find. The Hufflepuff had decided to make her way to her the arts room and maybe make some bracelets or something, When she entered the arts room, she realised that she wasn’t the only one in the room. Marley smiled happily and noticed it was Hazel. She vaguely knew Hazel from Accio, but didn’t know her all that well.“Hiya!” Marley says happily with a wave. She then looked down at what the girl was doing. “Oh! What’s that you’re making?” Marley gasped in excitement, intrigued by what the girl was making as she made her way towards Hazel.

Hazel wasn't sure how long she had been working on the skirt, once she got started on something and focused, she could stay in the same position for hours to work on it. She looked up when she heard a voice, smiling at the sight of Marley. She was older and in a different house, but Hazel knew her through Accio. She also felt like they had quite a bit in common, she seemed to be creative and fun as well. "Hey! I'm making a skirt." She said, stepping back slightly. "It's yellow but I'm adding this pink tulle to it." She said, gesturing. "And maybe some of this blue fabric..."

Marley watched and listened in excitement as Hazel explained what she was making and other things she was thinking of adding. "Oh, nice! What sorta skirt are you thinking?" Marley asked the girl curiously, trying her best to imagine the skirt in different lengths. "I think the pink and yellow together would be nice, they go well with each other. What were you thinking of doing with the tulle?" Marley asked the girl curiously, as she pointed to each fabric in turn. Marley wasn't an expert at creating clothing, or really using fabrics as her medium, but she knew the basics, plus she was curious on what the younger girl was curious about doing.

Hazel looked at the skirt and back at Marley, she was asking a lot of questions and Hazel was more a go with the flow type of person, but her interest was appreciated. "I think like.. knee length." She said, glancing at what she had so far. "And putting the tulle under and letting it peek out of the bottom maybe? I'm not sure." She said with a shrug. "Just trying things out." She glanced at her. "Did you come here to make art too?" She asked the older girl.

Marley nodded along as the younger girl explained what she was thinking of doing. However, Marley felt like maybe she was bombarding the girl with questions, especially since she didn't really know the girl all that well. "I'm sorry, were those a lot of questions? I tend to ask too many questions when I'm curious about something" Marley asked sheepishly, she hoped she wasn't annoying the girl too much, Marley was okay with leaving the girl alone if she preferred. "Oh yeah, I was gonna make some jewellery I guess. Though I couldn't really decide if I wanted to make a couple of bracelets or a necklace or two" Marley says with a small shrug, as she then decides to make her way to where the materials for jewellery were. While she had brought her own with her, she also liked to use some of what the school supplied.

Hazel shook her head at Marley's concern, smiling. "No worries, I don't mind answering. I just don't tend to have a big plan when I make something." She admitted. Her interest was piqued when Marley said she was going to make some jewelry. Turning to look as she headed to the materials. "What sort of jewelry are you making? Something with beads?" She asked, just as curious about the other girl's creative process. She was also a little worried her jewelry would be better than Hazels, though she knew htat shouldn't really matter.

Marley nodded her head as Hazel reassured her as well as talking about her process. "That's understandable, everyone's process is different when making their craft" Marley says with a nod and smile. Marley nodded happily as Hazel asked her questions. "Yeah, usually I make the jewellery with beads and charms that I may find. I think it's one of my favourite things to do aside from painting" Marley explains with a smile. Making jewellery was one of her favourite things. She knew she wasn't the best at it, but it was a fun and creative process. "I made these ones. They took forever to make though with all the knots and tying up I had to do" Marley says with a small smile, as she makes her way to the girl again and shows her the two bracelets that were on her wrist, They were a little rough on some edges but she didn't mind, she was happy to practice them again.

Hazel nodded enthusiastically as Marley said everyone's process was different, that was her experience too. Hazel tended to be a bit chaotic, which honestly resulted in her best work. She listened as Marley spoke about making jewelry, starting to smile. "I make jewelry like that too sometimes." She explained. "But I don't really paint." She didn't want Marley to think she was copying her, or something. She leaned forward to look at the bracelets and gasped slightly. "Oh my gosh, you have to show me how to make those little flowers!" She said excitedly.

Marley smiled, glad that there was also someone else who made jewellery similar to her which was pretty cool. The Hufflepuff nodded. "That's okay! Painting isn't for everyone. Making clothes from scratch isn't really my thing, but it's yours. That's what makes us unique in a way" Marley says with a small smile. The Hufflepuff wasn't bothered if painting wasn't really the younger girl's favourite. Everyone liked different things. Marley smiled happily and nodded excitedly at Hazel's comment. "Totally! I'd be happy to show you whenever you'd like. I dunno if I'd be a great teacher, but I'd be happy to teach you!"
