It was getting closer to Christmas, and the weather was improving. Clara Antolini had spent most of her winter days inside, and she was having a day where she actually felt like going outside. Of course she had used her whole morning up by sleeping, but she figured it would do her some good to get some fresh air and sunshine. Clara packed a couple of books and quills into her small backpack, and started down the stairs towards the Lawn. As she left the castle, Clara squinted slightly as the glare of the sun shone in her eyes. It was a nice feeling, having the sun on her skin, the winter days had made her forget what it felt like. Hugging her poncho closer to her chest against the wind, Clara moved forward, keeping to the side so she didn't get into anyone's way. The blonde had bumped into people before, and hated being scolded by them. In her five years at Hogwarts, she had learnt how to stay out of the way. Of course she had learnt more than just that, but that was an important rule to her. Other people didn't seem to care about the rule as much as she did. Other people just walked as they pleased, and it bothered Clara how inconsiderate some people could be.
Clara had luckily found a lonesome tree that she could lean against. She made sure that she was still in the sun, and she took her poncho off, beginning to feel the sun's warmth. The Hufflepuff placed it down on the ground, and sat on it so her pants wouldn't get dirty. Before opening her backpack, Clara leaned against the tree, closing her eyes and enjoying the brightness before she had to get started on her homework.

The holidays were arriving soon, and Lucien Snow did not have a single plan ahead. Well, that was not always true. He had plans to go see his paternal family, which was always a treat. He did not celebrate the holidays like normal people, which some might consider to be strange, but that was his family. It was definitely strange. Lucien did not have any plans with Bothizar or Avie today, and was dying to do something today. That was why he was heading out to the lawn, without his robes. His other part of the school uniform was neat and straightened. The only thing messy was his blond hair. The sun greeted the Slytherin, and almost like a vampire, Lucien flinched from the contact at first. The gusts of wind only made his hair worse as he continued his walk outside of the castle. He looked forward to not worrying about exams though. Lucien could not wait until he could sleep in, and just do nothing all day. Now, that would be a dream.

Heading toward a tree, Lucien was almost toward it until his silvery eyes looked upon a poncho. He did not know what it was but he did know it was a girl's thing. He peeked around to see that there was a girl sitting on the ground. And damn, she was smoking hot! And, she was doing some homework. It was something he did not recognize, so either he wasn't paying attention or she was older. If she was older, oh boy. Lucien decided to make his presence known, "What is a pretty girl like yourself doing alone out here on a gorgeous day? Surely someone can entertain you more than homework." Of course, he was meaning he could entertain her, but let's see how this played out. She could be feisty.

The young Hufflepuff had started on her homework, though she didn't entirely feel like doing it. Usually it was a way to keep her mind off of...well her mind, but she was enjoying the sunshine and wished she could just close her eyes and have a nap. Clara continued to push through, compromising with herself. She would finish quickly, and then have a nap once it was all done.
A voice pulled Clara out of her concentration; she hadn't even noticed anyone arrive. She noticed a handsome boy standing in front of her, and when she heard his words, she had a quick look around to make sure he was actually talking to her. Her cheeks reddened as she realized that the boy was indeed, talking to her. Was it flirting even? Clara had only ever been called pretty by her family, and didn't know the first thing about flirting. She had no idea how to respond. She looked down at her homework books. "Ohhh, umm. Just trying to get it all done." She managed to stammer out. If life played out like it usually did, this boy would realize what an idiot she was, and would turn around and walk away. Clara found she didn't want him to. She closed her books and sat up on her knees. "I'm Clara." She said in a quiet voice, holding out her hand. Did people handshake these days? She didn't know. How do people do this?!

Instead of running away like Clara's conscience told her, not that Lucien knew anything about, but he knelt down next to her, and settled in. He could even smell her sweet scent. Merlin's beard, she was so hot. Lucien could really appreciate the girl from this angle too, as he was looking somewhere other than her chest. However, as soon as she talked about how she was trying to get it all done, his eyes suddenly went up to hers. He didn't even show any sort of remorse where he was staring, but he was just admiring the goods. Her name was Clara, huh? How about that, a pretty name for a pretty girl. "Clara. It is a pleasure to meet you. I'm Lucien." She closed her books and seemed to want to talk to him. At last. Maybe he could get a girlfriend out of this after all. Well, almost like a girlfriend. Someone that would do girlfriend things without the commitment. "Let me be blunt with you, Clara. You are gorgeous, and I am not half bad myself. How about you and me grab some dinner during the next brightstone? We can really get to know each other there. I shouldn't be distracting you from your work, after all. OWLs are supposed to be pretty tough, right?" Lucien knew that he was being so forward, but it was just him. He could not resist. Clara was blonde, she was pretty, and she seemed to be a little easy for him to manipulate. If she would say yes, that is.

Clara was pleasantly surprised when the boy sat down next to her. She withdrew her hand, realizing he wasn't going to take it, and she felt stupid for having it out in the first place. The blonde watched him as he introduced himself, and she somehow felt a touch of intimidation from him. He was incredibly good looking, and very confident.
Clara sat up straighter as he began to talk. She couldn't help but smile, feeling special that someone like him would ask her out. Clara wondered why he was, and she glanced around quickly to see if there was anyone around, sniggering in the distance, watching this prank unfold. It had to be someone messing with her right? But Lucien seemed sincere, and she couldn't spot any laughing teens around, so it had to be true. Right?
Clara's smile hardly faulted while the thoughts swiftly went through her head, so she nodded her head in reply. "Uh, yeah, they are. And yes. I'd love to." Clara replied. "Umm. Will you owl me a time, or...?" Clara trailed off, not sure where they went from there. But her heart was all aflutter, and she couldn't stop smiling.

Lucien smirked when she agreed to come with him. Yes, it was working. He reached over, cupped her cheek and pressed her lips to her cheek, almost sweetly. That was very bizarre for him. He murmured, "I'll come and get you first thing in the morning. I know the corridor the Hufflepuff house is on, after all." Lucien stood back up and he gave her a subtle wave, "I'll see you real soon, Clara."
