Freddie Mitchell Alfaro​

MEANING​

Freddie - In German the meaning of the name Freddie is: From the Old German name Frithuric, meaning peaceful ruler.​

Mitchell - The name is derived from the Middle English and Old French name Michel, a vernacular form of the name Michael. The personal name Michael is ultimately derived from a Hebrew name, meaning "Who is like God".​

Alfaro - habitational name from a place in Logroño province named Alfaro, apparently from Arabic al 'the' + Old Spanish faro 'beacon', 'lighthouse'.​

WHY​

Freddie was chosen as his name because his mother had always liked it, it wasnt a particularly cuban name, but she liked it and when she held him he just felt like a Freddie so she was happy to give him such a name. Its not short for anything, or anything like that, Freddie is just his name. He doesnt mind it at all, in fact Freddie loves his name, he likes that its simple and sometimes quite playful, he knows that to be called Fred or Fredrich would be quite boring so hes happy with Freddie as the choice of name and since hes been living in the united states of america for most of his life he really likes that its then not difficult for people to say. Freddies middle and surname are just both the surnames of his parents, his mother sent a letter to his father asking for such permission and thats why he holds the surname Mitchell, but she didnt want her son to not have part of her since at the time she had intended to raise him and so put her name in the middle, he doesnt mind it at all, occasionally, since he hasnt seen his father in awhile wishes he could have his mothers last name as his surname and the fathers surname as his middle name but he isnt so annoyed about it and appreciates them both and the names theyve given to him greatly. ​

NICKNAMES​

Given that the name Freddie is in many ways a nickname Freddie doesnt actually have any other nicknames. Some people might call him Fred but thats about it, its just not necessary when he has a name like Freddie to have a secondary nickname. Freddie is short and simple and thats half why he likes his name so much. There is little way to be stern when someone says Freddie. So, hes pretty happy with his name and the lack of a nickname. Although in saying all that he wont be upset if someone was to give him a nickname. ​

FATHER​

Keith Mitchell, wizard, 49. Also attended Beauxbatons in France. After which he moved back to New Zealand where his sister was staying and started working at the ministry of magic as a janitor. He had never been overly bright, but got by quite well, he'd just had a bad time at school, and during his time working in the ministry ended up retaking a number of his OWLs and NEWTs. It was after about five years of working at the ministry that he ended up getting married a woman he'd met in his work, fellow witch Heather Mitchell, who was a little reluctant to move in with Keith's sister, but since she really loved Keith so did so. Heather is a registered private tutor who prides herself in being able to teach all material from home. She tutors kids for up to three hours a day, though has always spent a little more time with her own. Taking more time off work to deal with her own children. The pair also own a local restaurant with traditional French food. It had always been Keith's passion to open one, so when the opportunity came up he took it. A lot of the time, their own kids help out at the restaurant, and has become one of the primary sources of income into their house. While holidaying in Cuba alone on a work related trip, he met Freddies mother and they had an impassioned weekend, and as a result they had a son. Since Keith left soon after their weekend it wasnt until Freddies mother sent him an owl explaining the situation and since he was married with two sons, and lived with his sister and his nephew who looked to him to care for them, he couldnt leave, but he sent any money he could to Freddies mother, and visited a few times in the early years until his home life became too hectic and he could only write. When Freddie was given up for adoption it was the last time that his mother contact his father, but after Keiths sister and later his nephew died, he decided to come clean about what happened and plans to find him and bring him into the family. ​

MOTHER​

Freddie knows next to nothing about his mother, he doesn't know what her name was, only her surname, or who she was. She was just a small part of Freddie's life. he loves her, though he knows its a little silly. He wishes he had gotten the opportunity to get to know her better. ​

SIBLING(S)​

Freddie has had many foster siblings over the last few years, but he doesnt know that he has two brothers who are a little older than himself. Honestly, Freddie has always been glad to not have any siblings growing up because he knows that it would be unlikely theyd be kept together but hes going to love having two half-brothers. Freddie loves the idea of having siblings and wants older siblings who could help him whenever he needs it. ​

The brothers he hasnt yet met are; Dave Mitchell born on 26th September 2018 and Nathan Mitchell born on 3rd May 2021. ​

OTHER​

He doesnt have any other members of his family, apart from perhaps his fathers actual wife, who might become a bigger part in his life. He doesnt have any grandparents, and therefore he doesnt have any cousins. ​

Freddie was never able to get any pets, since he was constantly moving between homes, and even though now at school he could get an owl, he hasnt really wanted to do that, though his desire for an animal was quite strong he doesnt know how well he would take care of it and he doesnt want to have too much responsibilities. Since being at school, he's grown to really love animals, taking specific interest in owls. ​

THOUGHTS ON BLOOD STATUS​

Freddie knows hes a mixed blood, and he doesnt really mind it, the boy has always had more things than blood to worry about, so being mixed blood was never an issue for him. It was only a part of who he was, and he was happy to just accept his blood and it really was only a problem when he got to school and people had started asking him about his blood and family. It made sense that they would, but it wasnt until then that the boy ever felt the pressure of his own blood. Freddie knew that his blood type was quite good, hed never run into any problems with his blood but hes seen how some of the pureblood students can treat others which he doesnt particularly like. ​

HOMETOWN​

Havana, Cuba, was where he was born and spent the first few years of his life. Though he has spent more time in other places within the US, but he would never consider them to be his home town, but Havana is, he really loved the place and he missed it, though his memory of his old house and the town is blurry, he doesnt remember much of it. Freddie would like to return but he doesnt think he ever will, at least not while hes still so young.​

CURRENT RESIDENCE​

Because Freddie has lived in so many places over the years he doesnt consider himself to have a current residence, perhaps he might considered his current residence at the school as where he is living, but not entirely, he likes school but its not his home, its not. Freddie wants a permanent home, but its not something he thinks hell ever get, despite the fact that hes found his New Zealand family and is going to be spending time with them. ​

THE PLACE TO LIVE​

Though he remembers very little of it, hes always wanted to live in Havana, or go back to it. It just always seemed better, and though hes seen a lot of people and places that are awesome, he wants to go back to the place where he was born and spent a little part of his life with the mother that he loved dearly. It would be have to be where he would chose to live. Though he is very much enjoying spending time in New Zealand with his new family. ​

HAIR COLOUR​

Freddie has dark brown hair, it remains rather short and he keeps it at a controllable length. He does let it fall flat on his face and he spikes up his hair using magical product that he now can access it. As he grew up he kept it a little longer, allowing his fringe to cover his forehead but he stopped doing that when he got to school. He didnt used to take much care of his appearance because he didnt spend too long within one place to really want to try, and now that hes at school and remains at the school he knows and wants to make friends so he has begun to think about how he looks. Freddie likes his hair, even though it can find it fairly boring to have to deal with. Freddie doesnt like having to deal with his hair, but he wants to make a good impression upon people.​

HAIR HAS BEEN DYED​

Freddie has thought about it, but he thinks hes still a little young for it. Freddie wants to try dying his hair things like blue or pink but he hasnt yet managed to get the courage to dye his hair but probably will when he gets older. Freddie wants to learn the spell that would allow him to change his hair without using any products and also then have the ability to change it back at will. ​

EYE COLOUR​

Freddie has brown eyes, they are a rather dark colour and he doesnt love his eyes, he doesnt see why people focus so much upon eyes. He doesnt like his own eyes, he doesnt really find them interesting. He thinks that they can be interesting, but that his own eyes arent at all interesting. Despite this, Freddie has an extremely expressive face and very wide and expressive eyes. He doesnt realise it at all, but he frequently uses his expressiveness to get what he wants. ​

Freddie has a lanky and thin frame, he hasnt ever been very good with food, he can be fairly picky with it, and therefore is very selective in what he eats. He has a rounder more expressive face and is of average height for his year group. He will grow to be fairly tall since his father is quite tall, and he is getting better at eating since being at school. ​

The boys blood type was found out when he was quite young because of the fact he was in the foster care system, and he was happy to know it. While it doesn't always appear like that, he likes to be in control of things and know whats happening around him, so it would serve him well to know what was happening, and to know it incase he was alone and in need of muggle help for any reason.​

WHICH HAND?​

Freddie writes with his right hand, he has always been right handed, and has never bothered to learn or even attempt to write with his other hand. He doesn't have to worry about it too much, it's not a huge thing to him what he can write with, it's just a natural thing. He takes a pen in his hand and writes without thinking about, and largely because there were always bigger issues in his life he's never really thought about it. ​

Though he was born in Cuba, because of the short amount of time he spent there, he has a largely plain non-descript american accent. He speaks rather fast and often without pausing in between his sentences. He speaks excitedly and often barely finishes saying something before he moves on. He doesn't mind his voice at all, but wishes he had a little more of his heritage in his voice. ​

I CAN SPEAK​

Even though he was born in Cuba and did originally learn Spanish, he lost it all when he came to america, he hasn't ever gotten it back, and he is often quite disappointed by this fact, Freddie does wish he could speak better, or really any Spanish. But he's never been particularly suited to learning languages, it requires him to do a lot sitting down and learning and he's not particularly interested. Though he wants to learn it, he just figures it's a little beyond him and hasn't pursued it as much as he could. ​

PERSONAL STYLE​

Freddie has a very casual style he doesn't try very hard with his clothes, he has a minimal amount of clothing, largely because he wears stuff until they either fall apart or they get too small. He doesn't really care about how he's dressed and will wear what ever he wants to wear no matter the occasion. He doesn't really do formal events and so doesn't often wear shirts, or formal clothes. He wears his uniform barely like he's suppose to, he just doesn't really enjoy it's restrictive feel for him. He likes wearing bright colours and he has an affinity for things that do not match. ​

CHARACTER LIKES​

There are a good number of things that Freddie likes, he likes friends primarily, he likes having fun and surrounding himself with people who make him feel happy. He likes quidditch and he loves snitches, he likes being able to express himself and he likes being loud and energetic. He likes casting spells, he likes some of the theory he can do about particular spells. Freddie likes running, and going to the beach, he likes going to parties and having fun. he doesn't believe in doing things that aren't fun, and will leave boring situations. Freddie likes theme parks and sweet food and he likes playing with people. Freddie loves animals a lot. ​

CHARACTER DISLIKES​

Freddie has a number of dislikes primarily he doesn't like people who are harsh to their family, because he knows what it's like to not have one, he doesn't like when people are unjustily harsh to others in general, Freddie believes in kindness and doesn't understand why others wouldn't. He doesn't like when he has to sit in classes that are so theory heavy that he could fall asleep. He doesn't like moving about and he doesn't like having to continuously meet new people, though he's good at it. Freddie doesn't like fish, in any manner. He has a small fear of jellyfish and therefore really hates them, so despite the fact that he does really love the beach not a huge fan of the water. ​

GOALS​

Freddie has a few goals in his life, he wants a huge family, he wants an exceedingly large family, he wants to adopt kids and have a huge house with a bunch of dogs, a huge amount of land and just so many happy children within it. He also really just wants to have fun. Freddie feels like if he can look back on his life and it's filled with countless happy memories, of joyous occasions and he can think he's spent his time being happy he will thorough be thankful, so in his life his primarily goal is to be happy and to have fun. ​

BOGGART​

Jellyfish, he would see hundreds of jellyfish floating their way towards him. His fear of jellyfish is not actually born of any incident, he just found out what they were and developed a deep fear of them. He can barely deal with talking about them, and definitely freaks out when he sees one either as a picture or in life. Freddie would happily live his life if jellyfish were completely wiped out. ​

His patronus would be complicated, though he has a lot of happy memories, none of them currently would be strong enough to create a patronus charm, so while he assumes it would take the shape of an otter, it is unlikely that with his memories he could create one, but that could change as he gets older. ​

DEMENTOR​

Freddie doesn't entirely remember when his mother left him, he was young at the time and of course it's therefore one of his earliest memories, but, it's quite vague and it just brings his mood completely down every time he talks about it, because he doesn't know what happened to her. He remembers her saying that she loved him and then he remembers a realisation that she was never coming back. Because of this, it would be the memory he would continuously relive. ​

VERITISERUM​

There aren't a lot of secrets that Freddie has, he is the sort of person who doesn't shy away from things that happened to him, he'll tell people openly, talk openly about it, about his feelings. He is a very confident person, and largely if he was to admit anything is that he is worries he'll never actually know what a family is like. he has a number of friends, and is exceedingly friendly to people but he's never really had a family before and he would also worry and never really admit that he thinks he never will.​

His desires are rather simple, he just wishes he had his mother back, at least for a day, so he would see her in the mirror and she would be telling him how much she loved him and that would be what he saw, it's not particularly complex but it is what he would see. ​

I LOOK UP TO​

There aren't a lot of people that Freddie could look up to, he hasn't got any family that he could look up to, despite being found by his father he hasn't yet gotten to know the man very much in the time that has passed, and he doesn't yet look up to him in the way that this would ask. He doesn't really have any ideals or people he'd like to be like. Freddie has always just relied upon himself and his own personality to get him through, so in a slightly narcisstic way he doesn't look up to anyone because he doesn't think he needs to model himself off anyone or aim to be like anyone other than himself.​

Freddie is a very independent soul. He loves animals, he loves caring for things, but he'll happily do it on his own. He doesn't need others in his life. He has bounced around places, and he loves going on long adventures. He has a lot of time on his hands and he enjoys the challenge of just being in the fresh air. He works relatively hard, but only really in the classes he likes, or doing the things that he likes. Freddie is kind to people and animals but he will only really active try to make friends with animals, he has a much harder time making friends with people. He's a fairly active person, he doesn't concentrate very well, and he'll just move on if he's bored. ​

Growing up, Freddie was moved around a lot, and being kept within the muggle fostering system meant he attended muggle primary school, but he was never really at any establishment for more than a year when the foster parents he had would grow bored or frustrated with Freddies lively nature and return him. Thus a lot of his education is spacy at best, he can read and write, but his maths skills and science skills can both be classed as quite poor, with little understanding of basic maths and the most basic science terms. He was good at making friends, good at adapting to new situations and his light heartedness made it easy for him to get along with others, though he never formed overly firm friendships and when he grew older especially so. ​

Since he attended many schools, Freddie has had a lot of first impressions when it comes to schools.Mostly he always finds it rather daunting, there is nothing easy about joining a school and he has done it quite a lot. He thinks most schools are the same, they have the same sort of people and structure. He never particularly like muggle school, he was exceedingly glad when he turned out to be a wizard. ​

GRADES ACHIEVED​

Because he constantly moved about it is difficult to really track what sort of grades Freddie was able to get. He tried hard in school, but it didn't always work to well for him. The courses changed and were at different points. Freddie really did try, but there is sometimes only so much one can do. ​

SKIPPING CLASS?​

Freddie did skip quite a lot of class the older he got, when he found a particular teacher rather boring he tended to not go to the class unless he really had to go. He wasn't too focused on his muggle education as he got older, but this was again due to a number of factors often meaning he didn't get much time in any given place. ​

SCHOOL CLUBS​

Frequently Freddie would join whatever sports club was on offer, it was an easy way for him to make friends and meet new people, it often made it easier for him to fit in with a school because Freddie had always been fairly athletic and therefore tended to not be too bad at the sports. ​

Getting his wand was just about the greatest thing he had ever gotten, the dividend from the school had allowed him to buy the wand, and he truly loved the wand, the way it felt, what it had within it. The wand was amazing, and he felt so powerful with the wand in his hand, and it just felt amazing to him. ​

FIRST THOUGHTS​

The school was incredible when he first say it, he knew when he saw the school that he would love it. It was just so amazing to him, the school and the fact he had a dorm room and people whom he got to be friends with. The schools look wasnt what he had been expecting but he loved it, it had gone so far above what he had thought. Freddie spent hours exploring and meeting people, he is quite an excitable person and he had never seen so amazing in his first hours at the school. ​

The house had been another unexpected part of the school, he had thought that he would just be at the school like any of the schools he had attended prior to it, but he was surprised to be sorted. He loved being sorted in the end, he thought it was a perfect place to end up and he suddenly had a sort of family with the people he was in a house. The house and everything about houses was amazing to him, Freddie is over the moon about houses and was so happy about being sorted. ​

FIRST - FOURTH YEARS: There's not been much of note within these years. He's worked okay, passed his classes and just kept his head down. He keeps thinking about moving school, since he's wanted a change of scenery but he hasn't decided. he does enjoy his current school and he enjoys the friends he has at it. Defence Against the dark arts, though he can also learn spells in this class, he doesnt find it as fun, and he isnt too much of a fan of a defence and fighting. He doesnt like that aspect of the class, and he doesnt really like the professor that takes the class.​
