Fourth Years, Lesson Three

Landon waited for his class to enter as he leaned against his desk, and greeted them as usual, "Hey guys! Don't bother sitting down. We are going out today." He tugged a bit on his gloves, "Get your gloves and work robes. There are goggles in that crate on the way out the door. Get a pair. I have enough here for everyone. Now, what we are doing today is simple. Cultivating Bubotubers." He didn't notice the disgusted look on some of his student's faces and simply smiled at them all, knowing that they would learn a lot that lesson.

Landon walked toward the door and motioned, "Follow me!" He led them to a large patch where many large, black Bubotubers stuck vertically out of the ground. There were plenty for the students to be split up between. "That mound on the ground for their nutrients is Mooncalf Dung." It was hard for him to collect, however, and he used magic instead of actually touching it with his hands. At least it had no odor.

"Now, I want you to take handfuls and spread it around evenly. Be careful not to poke or prod any of the swellings." Landon smiled as he watched the class carefully do as told. Once everyone was done, he silently cast a scourgify spell on their gloves and robes. "I'll water them tonight, if it doesn't rain. They will have their fulfill of nutrients. By the next lesson, they will be ready to have their pus drained and collected. You may leave once you collect your things."

Assignment: RP the lesson.

Morrie stood rigid at the back of the group, arms crossed tightly as Landon gave his cheerful instructions. Her face scowled at the Bubotubers, and mooncalf dung. She reluctantly grabbed a pair of goggles and shoved her hands into her gloves. Surprisingly, the dung was odourless which made the whole process much less gross than it could have been, but not enough to improve her mood. Morrie did minimal spreading, pretty much as little as she could possibly get away with. After the gloves were cleaned and Landon dismissed the class, Morrie was the first to bolt out of the greenhouse.

Apolline had really enjoyed the halloween feast. It had been a little different because she had been taking pictures for Accio, but it had been no less enjoyable really. It had just been a bit different. It was also nice to her to begin to think about how to take pictures, what to take pictures of, what to not take pictures of. Blindly taking all pictures at all moments wasn’t the way to go about it. She had always known that, but now she knew it. Apolline had to develop a lot of the pictures, but she had plans to do that over the course of the week. The gryffindor was very excited for that and had to remind herself about her classes before getting herself ready for the day and heading to them.

Apolline walked into the herbology classroom and looked at the professor as the man got started on what they’d be covering, building somewhat on the previous lecture. Apolline took the goggles and gloves and work robes and got ready. She followed the professor and the rest of the class outside to where the professor’s lesson was taking place. She nodded at what they were to do and then just got immediately started on it. She didn’t want to waste any time and it wasn’t that bad a thing to do. She worked away until the professor wrapped up the lesson and dismissed them.
