Fourth Years, Lesson Six

LESSON SIX
Now that he was feeling better again, Noel decided that it was time to return to teaching. He didn't know why he had become so unwell so suddenly, but thankfully, he was all better now, and right before exams too. Missing a class meant that he would need to scrap some things from the exam, though he was sure that his fourth-year class wouldn't particularly mind that. They'd be busy enough as it was.

''Good morning, everyone,'' the Professor said with a friendly smile, closing the door and moving to stand at the front of the classroom. '' For our final class of the semester, I would like you to do a writing exercise. I will not be grading it and you do not have to hand it in either, but it will be good practice nonetheless. So, let's activate those bright minds again and recall what we have learned about the Unforgivable Curses this semester.'' With a simple flick of his wand, the pile of parchments from his desk floated towards the students. The same things were written down on each of the parchments

Questionnair Lesson Six

1. In your opinion, which of the three Unforgivable Curses is the worst and why?
2. In most parts of the world, the punishment for using an Unforgivable Curse is imprisonment in Azkaban. Do you think this is justified or should the punishment be different?

3. Are there any spells (or other forms of magic) that you think should be considered unforgivable? Explain your reasoning.

Noel watched the students for a moment until he returned to sit behind his desk. ''Take as long as you need, you've got the entire lesson to work on it. Think carefully about your answers, and if you do want to discuss them with your neighbour, feel free to do so.'' And with that he let them concentrate on the parchments in front of them. He was curious the read their essays at the end of the class but was even more curious to read their opinions on these questions.

- Roleplay the lesson.
- You will receive extra credit for filling out the questionnaire, and additional extra credit if your student discusses their answers with their neighbour (or other characters)!

Callie walked into the defence against the dark arts classroom and took her usual spot in the room. She hadn’t enjoyed this semester of the class, but it had been necessary. She nodded and then took the questionnaire as it appeared. She got to work on it when the professor allowed them to. She was slow with her answers, really thinking about them, not wanting to get anything wrong, and wanting to put her thoughts well on paper. She eventually finished up and then handed the work back into the professor before she headed out of the room.

Enoch walked into the defence against the dark arts classroom and took his usual spot in the room. He glanced towards the professor at the front of the room as the man got started. But they weren’t doing anything new, and worse they were revising really. It was a questionnaire which was something that though they didn’t have to hand it in, he didn’t think he’d endear himself much if he visibly wasn’t working. He was slow at it, not really putting his mind on it, just using up the time before the moment he could leave heading out of the room.

Friday walked into the defence against the dark arts classroom and took a seat in the room. She was a little surprised at what they’d be doing that day, and a little annoyed, especially because it wasn’t going to be marked, what was the point of it. She took the questionnaire and it took her all of five minutes to get some answers for it, she watched as it seemed other people had way more thoughts about it than she did. Friday waited until at least one other person had appeared to finish up and leave before she packed up her things and headed out of the room.

Lucy was feeling the pressure as she entered the defence against the dark arts classroom. She expected a revision class, but not a questionnaire to go along with it. Lucy shrugged and took a look at the parchment. It seemed to warrant thinking for herself, which wasn't a skill Lucy was particularly used to. Following what she was told was in general her style, except on specific circumstances. Lucy filled out the sheet though, thinking through her answers carefully.

1. In your opinion, which of the three Unforgivable Curses is the worst and why? I think crucio is the worst but it also depends on what someone makes someone do with imperio. But I think being tortured is really awful.
2. In most parts of the world, the punishment for using an Unforgivable Curse is imprisonment in Azkaban. Do you think this is justified or should the punishment be different? Azkaban is a little bit harsh, I think, with all the dementors making people miserable. It's sort of like torture if you think about it. I think there should be a different punishment. Like, maybe you're not allowed to do magic anymore.
3. Are there any spells (or other forms of magic) that you think should be considered unforgivable? Explain your reasoning. I can't think of anything but that doesn't mean there isn't.

Marley couldn't believe that they were in their final week of lessons before exams. Exam season was basically near. The Hufflepuff made sure to pack up the things she needed for the lesson before making her way to her dada lesson. Marley also couldn't believe that this was her final lesson of dada classes. Once Marley arrived in her dada classroom, she took a seat in her usual spot and took out the things she needed for the lesson and placed them on the desk in front of her.

Marley moved her attention towards the professor as the professor got started with the lesson. Turns out that it was going to be a revision lesson, which the Hufflepuff didn't mind. She preferred that if she was being honest. Marley went through the questionnaire that the professor had given them.

It wasn't long until they had completed with questionnaire and they were dismissed. Marley realised that this would be her last lesson with this professor. Marley didn't mind the professor, but it had hit her that they'd be getting a whole new set of professors next year. She quickly packed up her things, as well as tidied up her area. Marley then says a quick and appreciative thanks and goodbye to the professor before heading out of the classroom with the rest of her friends and classmates, a bit nervous for the upcoming exams.

Teddy was busy with his studies but all he really wanted was for exams to come and go, so he could focus on the school break instead. As he approached the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, he did hope for another note on the door. Unfortunately, no such luck. With a resigned sigh, he walked in and took his usual seat. Teddy listened to Professor Waldgrave and completed the questions as part of the preparation for their exam. At the end of the lesson, Teddy packed up his things and thanked Professor Waldgrave on his way out, fully aware that next year then would have a different professor teaching them.

1. In your opinion, which of the three Unforgivable Curses is the worst and why? Imperio because people underestimate it as proven by the opportunity for students to volunteer to be subjects of this curse.
2. In most parts of the world, the punishment for using an Unforgivable Curse is imprisonment in Azkaban. Do you think this is justified or should the punishment be different? Life in prison if they murder or irreversible damage to a person. Maybe something less extreme for anything less.
3. Are there any spells (or other forms of magic) that you think should be considered unforgivable? Explain your reasoning. No, I think that forgiveness should be part of accepting that everyone makes mistakes
