Continuing the trend she had started in her first year at the school Freya would once again be attending the Yule Ball on her own. Sure, it wasn't fully voluntarily and she would have loved to go with a date or a friend, but in the end she didn't really mind. After all going alone never meant staying on your own thorughout the entire night, especially not at a place like this. So with a little more confident than she had the previous year she had put on her dress, gotten ready and once she was done made her way towards the great hall.

As she had reached the entrance hall she noticed multiple students standing around, either waiting on their dates or on their friends, and she had to admit some of them had putten a lot of effort into their looks. Some of those dresses were just plain gorgeous! She herself hadn't put a whole lot of thought in what she would be wearing, but she had gotten the dress from her mother a little while ago and she liked it, which was why she glad that she had finally found an occasion she could wear it to. Freya couldn't help but still look at all the other students as she made her way over to the table with drinks and gotten herself one, only to take a couple steps away from it after. She was sure that she would enjoy herself as she had done the previous years, yet she couldn't help but hope she'd soon spot someone she knew, because if she was going to be standing on her own for too long the confidence she had gained over the last year was most likely to fade away again.

Alessio had not expected to go to the ball, he was not one into dances but he needed something different to do, as he was either studying, taking walks on the grounds for some fresh air or in his dorm reading in his free time. He hadn't exactly gone out of his way to spend time with his few friends and he did blame himself for it. They probably all went on with their lives and had other friends, which kind of bothered Alessio. He needed to be more open wit people, he was in his fifth year and struggling with school. Again, his fault. It was as if a switch flipped on in his brain, everything was clear all of a sudden. Alessio got up from his bed and found himself pulling out a suit from the closet before he could register what he was doing. The hufflepuff thought it about time to go out of his comfort zone for a change.

He was ready within five minutes and it took him another five to convince himself further, before he finally left the common room and headed to the great hall where he could hear music being played. He wasn't familiar with magical folk music, but it was some great stuff. Al slowly made his way to the snack table and got a few biscuits. When he turned around however, he wasn't expecting there to be a person, so what happened next did not come as a surprise to him. He could be so clumsy sometimes! "I'm so sorry!" He apologised, his face flushing as he looked at who he had bumped into, dropping his plate to the floor with a crash. The fact that it had been a girl he'd so rudely walked into did not help the matter. "Are you okay?!" This is why he didn't have any friends, he thought with an inward sigh. He always embarrassed himself.

Freya had been standing close to the table for a little while and she knew people were starting to notice how awkward and alone she looked. She shouldn't let it get to her, she tried her best to not let it get to her. She had gained some hard earned confidence over the course of the last year and she was determined to become even more confident in her fourth year, so she couldn't let it get to her. Not just that but most students were busy with their dates or friends, so why would they even notice her standing there. The fourth year Puff had spotted some people she knew, which weren't a lot, but they were occupied with other people so she wasn't going to bother them.

The girl had just been raising her glass to take a sip of her drink when someone turned around and bumped into her, causing her to spill what was left of the drink over her dress. "Great." Freya muttered when she looked down at the dress which now had a perfectly visible stain on it. As she looked up at the person who had bumped in to her she shrugged and smiled at the boy, even if it was a weak smile. "It's okay." She reassured him, after all it wasn't like he had bumped into her on purpose so she couldn't truly blame him for it, perhaps he was just clumsy. "I'm fine," She replied to him, smiling a bit wider this time. "My dress isn't though," She looked down again at the dress she liked so much, before she realized the irony of the whole thing and started chuckling. Of course something like this was bound to happen to her when she tried to be confident. "But then again, it's just a dress. You on the other hand should be a bit more carefull next time." She could see the boy looked a bit embarassed, but Freya hoped he wouldn't feel too guilty about it.
