The summer sun shone bright, and the wind was gentle and blew all the scents of the outdoors strait into Clare's face. She took a breath in, admiring the way that it felt to be in warmer weather. Her body, really, had been braced for cold weather at this point, and she was still a bit unused to the way the seasons were. in America, her parents would be up north a ways celebrating Christmas with snow and family. Claire wanted to stay year round, until Summer break, at Hogwarts for her first year, that was she could establish strong relationships. Her parents took the new surprisingly well, since most of the time they kept an iron grip on what she was doing. she smiled though, walking across the yard, drawn to where, she didn't know. She walked with steady footing, wearing tennis shoes made this much easier than if she had worn boots. Claire walked until she came upon the edge of the forest. Was this where she was going all along?

Claire had heard many rumors about the forest. she had heard that dangerous creatures dwelling within, and that students were not meant to go in there. Even though Claire was not always one to break the rules, she couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity overwhelm her. She looked around, and no one seemed to be within earshot even. she wondered if she would get wounded, being in the forest. she wondered if the trees moved, or if the animals spoke; she wondered many things, and she stood there for at least five to ten minutes. "Should I?" She asked herself aloud. She wasn't afraid of going in there. She wasn't even afraid of what was in there; mainly, she was afraid of getting in trouble and having to leave the school. Could that really happen to her, she wondered. If it did, would she be able to go to another school out there. Were there other schools out there. Claire decided to cease her thoughts, and just go with her gut. She pulled her tank top down slightly, and her pants up a littlehigher, adn took her first steps toward the woods.

Rose's eyes were red from crying. She hadn't stopped since she had come back to Hogwarts from France yesterday evening. She had been originally supposed to stay at home for the holidays but once she had seen her Papa's face when she had returned she knew that things had turned for the worse. Even though Lucie disagreed completely , Rose knew it was she who was holding her Papa back from getting better. She had backed her bags and made Lucie get her a ticket to come back here. There had been a lot of fighting and tears and Rose was just at a low. She was usually happy and bubbly but she had never felt this bad before. For all these years it had been she who had been holding her Papa back. In a way it wasn't much of a surprise because she had been expecting it for a while now, that dind't stop the hurt though. EVen though she had never felt any sort of affection from her Papa she had still loved him and he had been her only parent. She wasn't going to go to the house, either he would have to move or she would because she wanted him to get better. Maybe once he was better he would actually be able to look at her and love her like a Papa should, it was something she dreamed of and even though she was going to have to suffer for it, in the long run things would hopefully be better. THat was what had won her argument with Lucie. She had ben adement that Rose stay and not leave but once Rose had spoken the truth and the reasonable solution she had had to agree.

Rose had been crying a lot. She had basically lost her home and her last parent even though really she had lost him since the day her Mama had died. Hopefully though things would get better, that was the only way she was going to cope because if she though negatively about the whole situation, she would crumble into an emotional mess. She wasn't very far from that though, she had spent the night crying and her eyes were raw. She was trying to keep her head up, she wasn't as bad as she had been two days ago. She was learning to cope with her music and art. It was amazing how something like a hobby could help you through the rough times. Her paintings and pieces were sad and touching but they helped her get out the emotions. She was feeling better but still fragile enough, she was walking outside in the summer heat. THe warm sun was nice on her back and helping her mood a bit. As she would around the school she saw someone standing outside the forest. Curiously she walked closer to see who it was, technically you weren't allowed in the forest but that hadn't stopped Rose before. She had never met a creature inside the forest and nothing had ever happened her inside there. Rose was trying to find something to distract her and she wanted to go and see who the person was and what they were doing to distract her from her own problems. As she got closer she realized it was the girl Claire from her house and year. She walked beside her "Hey."She said hoping she didn't look a total mess, she had really only thought of what she possibly looked like when she had spoken. Oh well she thought, trying to smile.
