Siobhan had been rather anxious about sharing the news with Kahurangi. She was even more nervous to tell Flynn, but that could wait. Right now, she had made sure Fin was out of the house and everything was perfect. Siobhan had bought Kahurangi a little gift. Sort of a gag, it was a t-shirt that read "My partner is running for Minister of Magic." While they had definitely talked over it, the Quidditch League Head had not really been completely confident in decision until the paperwork was filed. Now, it was very much real, and Siobhan would have a long year ahead of her and those in her life. For now, she wanted to savor the moment.

Siobhan sat patiently on the loveseat as she waited for Kahurangi to arrive. She'd sent her an owl asking he over for dinner. In reality, she wasn't much of a cook so hopefully clued in that something was going on. There was a bottle of champagne, some magic poppers from the joke shop, and two glasses waiting for them behind the glimmering yellow bag with the shirt. It was hard not to be anxious.

As much as she loved her job, more and more Kahurangi had been lamenting how little time it left her to have an actual life. The amount of time she needed to spend at Hogwarts hadn't bothered her so much when her life had been emptier, but now she had a daughter and a partner, and not nearly enough time to spend with either of them. It was a difficult juggling act, but Kahurangi couldn't help thinking this was the happiest she had ever been. She hadn't really seen the holes in her life until they were filled.

With their busy schedules, Kahurangi had grown to value every moment she got to spend with Siobhan, and she had been looking forward to tonight's dinner for a while. The occasion struck her as a little odd though - it wasn't their anniversary, and Kahurangi didn't think it had been nearly long enough for Siobhan to be planning a proposal. Though she had questioned the reason a bit, Kahurangi had decided to just look forward to the occasion, dressing herself up nicely and making sure to be on time, a few flowers resting in the crook of her arm as she knocked on the door. If this was some kind of occasion, she was going to make sure she was prepared.

Siobhan turned her head as she heard a knock and quickly shot up from her seat, smoothly out her non-wrinkled shirt. She walked to the door, glancing through the peephole before opening. "Hi darling," she welcomed, offering her partner a kiss on the cheek. "Come in, come in." It was hard to act normal with this big announcement looming over them. But Siobhan turned back around after she had situated herself in front of the gift so she wasn't overwhelming from the getgo. "How were classes today?" she said, finally noticing the flowers. Maybe someone had given them to Kahurangi. She didn't want to assume.

Kahurangi smiled warmly at Siobhan's greeting, returning the cheek kiss as she entered the other woman's home. "Thanks." She said gently, though the nervous air between them was palpable. Whatever was going on, Kahurangi felt justified in thinking this was a big occasion, though she didn't know yet what that meant. She smiled slightly when Siobhan asked about classes, shrugging. "They were fun. My sixth years are up to the most complex material, it's always nice getting to teach something challenging and seeing how they absorb it." She smiled. It was a small class this year, but that was so often the case with such a niche subject. Seeing Siobhan's eyes flick to the bouquet, she smiled warmly and handed them over. "For you. How was your day?"
