Closed Flustered and Flirting

Charlie was pleased to be back at school. Despite his emotional turmoil he dealt with on occasion, he was enjoying his time here. He had taken time to sit down in the courtyard. He had his violin out, eyes shut and lost in the music as he played through Studio Ghibli songs. The music enveloped him. It was beautiful, the music. He played slowly, loving the sweet, calming tones of his instrument.

Valeria was relieved to be back at school, here she could ignore what had happened during her break, the problems were now distant, miles away. her father many many miles away. She felt bad, and wanted to be with him but she liked New Zealand and her life was here. So perhaps Val was leaning more into herself. She'd put on a pretty outfit, spent time on her hair and make up and was just going about her day, perhaps a little more made up than she needed to be. As she was considering going out to practice some quidditch she heard someone playing violin. She approached the noise and spotted a boy, one of those hufflepuff ones playing it. Were all the hufflepuff boys talented musicians?! She waited, watch as he played and when the song ended she applauded for him.​

Charlie had just finished playing when he heard clapping. Surprised, he looked up, blushing furiously. "Er- hello, Valeria," He greeted. "I didn't see you there," He set his violin down, swallowing nervously. Valeria was one of the prettiest girls in their year, and it made Charlie a little nervous to be with her alone. He ran a hand through his hair, giving her a shy smile.

Valeria gave as flirty a smile as she could, and tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear as she moved to sit down next to her. Charlie was cute. She could see that he was nervous and shy, but he was certainly a cute boy. "You were very focused on your playing, I didn't want to interrupt by making so much noise that you noticed me," she explained to him. "But you're really good, the song was beautiful. What was it?" She was smiling at him in an interested manner, keeping her tone just a little flirty, just a hint. She didn't want to scare him off, and she thought it would certainly be possible with this boy. ​

Charlie flushed as she sat next to her. She was smiling at him, and his heart was fluttering madly. Was- was she flirting? Charlie didn't know how to handle the flirting, and swallowed, hard. "I- er- um-" He laughed nervously, running a hand through his hair. "Heh, sorry, um, i-its a studio Ghibli song, I like their music." He offered, rubbing the back of his neck. He hesitated a moment before reaching over, very gently placing his hand on hers. "Er- you like violin?" He asked, smiling shyly.

Valeria didn't know how much she should flirt with Charlie, he seemed very nervous already, but she wanted to and she was sure because he hadn't straight up rejected her, he possibly wanted to. "Studio Ghibli...that's a muggle thing right?" she asked, clearly not actually sure what it was but she leaned in a little towards him showing her keenness. Surprisingly he reached over and took her hand, which was a rather forward gesture, but she welcomed it. It did mean her flirting was working. She let her fingers move and stretch to clasp his hand into hers, moving to intertwine their fingers. She gave a little flirty smile to him. "I do like violin, I like listening to it, could listen to it all day, especially if you're playing," she complimented, using her other hand to twirl her hair a little. "I wish I could play it, but I'm more of an artist than a musician," ​

Charlie tried to keep his breathing even, but couldn't help the flush on his cheeks or the shy smile he gave her. "Yes, they make very beautiful movies," He told her, laughing nervously at her words. "I'll play for you anytime," He tried to sound flirty back, but it sounded shy to his own ears. He wasn't very good at this. "I'm sure your art is just as beautiful as you are," He managed to offer, pleased he didn't stutter.

Valeria gave a little nod, she didn't know any of the movies, so she couldn't say she knew if they were but she was sure that they probably were. "I don't know if you want to offer that Charlie, I could be asking you to play every time I need to hear something beautiful," she said with a little flirty smile, but she giggled lightly in a flirty manner at his compliment. "Thank you," she replied, of course happy to accept any compliments about her apperance. "You're handsome too, quite possible the most handsome boy in your whole dorm of handsome boys," she had to admit that she found all the hufflepuff boys very handsome. "And I bet you're probably the best kisser too," ​

Charlie laughed nervously, swallowing hard. He had heard Valeria had a reputation of enjoying time with boys, but he hadn't ever considered he would be worth her attention. "Time with you would never be a bad thing," He offered shyly, his blush deepening as she called him handsome. "Oh, I ah, I don't know about that," He ran his free hand through his hair again, biting his lip. His eyes widened a little at her words and he stammered a moment. "I- ah, I wouldn't- know," He managed a little lamely. "I've never um, never more than a peck, like at the spin the bottle game," He rambled, fidgeting a bit. Part of him was sure she would try to kiss him, and the other part was terrified she would and be disappointed.

Valeria gave a little smile at his words. She had never thought he'd be interested in her or interested in flirting, but he was, and perhaps it was just they were all teens, and kissing people, flirting was all they were trying to learn how to do and how to reign in all the hormones. Though Val just thought kissing boys was fun. "Shut up Charlie, you're handsome," she assured him. But she gave a little smile. "Well, I'm a very good kisser, so I can show you," Valeria had no way to know if she was good at kissing, she just had never been told that she was a bad kisser. "If you would like?" ​

Charlie laughed nervously, shaking his head. It was weirdly nice that Valeria was calling him handsome. His breath caught as she suggested kissing, swallowing hard. He stammered a moment. His heart felt like it would burst from his chest, it was pounding so hard. He nodded dumbly, leaning in just a little bit. "I-i... I would like that," He managed, hesitating a second before reaching up to brush her hair back behind her ear, letting his hand fall to cup her face gently.

Valeria gave him a little smile as he leaned in towards her, nodding slightly. She let him reach up, brushing her hair back, and she leaned into his hand slightly and then closed the gap. She kept her face close to him, letting her eyes look at his lips and giving him a last opportunity to pull away or say no. But she went in for the kiss, pressing her lips lightly to his and kissed him. ​

Charlie's heart was beating furiously in his chest as she drew closer. He swallowed hard, taking a breath before leaning in and pressing his lips to hers. He was hesitant at first, unsure, but soon enough he grew a bit bolder, kissing her back more confidently and turning more towards her, reaching out and trying to draw her just a little bit closer.

Valeria kissed Charlie back, she was a lot more certain and forward in the beginning of the kiss, but it seemed her grew into the kiss. She let him draw her in a little more, happy to kiss him and for it to be a good kiss. She knew that he'd said he didn't know if he was a good kisser and she'd be able to say that he was. She pulled out of the kiss slowly, taking a moment to get her breath back. "Well, do you want my official report on how good of a kiss that was?"​

Charlie almost didn't want the kiss to end, following briefly as she pulled away before stopping himself. He kept his hand cupping her face, brushing his thumb over her cheek. "If it's a good report, do I get another one?" He flirted a bit more boldly, giving her a soft smile. If all kissing was this good, he'd have to do it more often.

Valeria couldn't help the little giggle at his words. "Just one kiss and suddenly you're Mr. Bold," she said jokingly and without saying anything Val leaned in and went to kiss him again, letting the fact she was willing to kiss again be the indication that he needed that he was a good kisser. It wouldn't matter that Val did in general like kissing. She would've stopped if it had been terrible. It just hadn't been.​

Charlie smiled as she teased him, leaning in with her and returning her kiss. He placed a hand gently against the side of her neck, just enjoying her company and warmth. Valeria was a lovely girl, and while he knew he was just the closest boy who happened to have her attention for the moment, it was a nice moment to be having. He pulled back after a bit, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "Do you have any plans for the Ball?" He asked, fairly certain that was the next big event. "I'd love to take you if you're free,"

Valeria gave him a smile as they pulled out of the kiss. She leaned lightly into his touch and then flicked her hair a little in a way of flirting. ”Oh Charlie, the ball?” she gave a little giggle and nodded, ”I'd love to go to the ball with you,” Valeria said with a sincere tone, really glad that she now had a date to the ball. She could plan her outfit to really wow him, and even if that ended up being the last of it, it had been fun. ”At the very least going with you means I'll be able to kiss a good kisser,” she added with a little giggle. ​

Charlie smiled, pleased that she had agreed. He reached out and brushed her hair back. "I'm sure you'll look absolutely lovely," He told her. "I'll pick you up fifteen minutes before?" He asked, thinking it only polite to walk with her down the stairs- he wouldn't mind walking up the the Ravenclaw towers. "What kind of flowers do you like?" He asked her. "Would you want me to wear any color in particular?" He asked, thinking of the color coordinated couples he saw hanging out at the other dances.

Valeria smiled at Charlie, ”Oh I'll turn every head,” she said with a pride-fulness, she believed it and didn't think there was anything wrong with her being proud of her appearance, she looked good easily, it wasn't hard. ”You'll walk me down all the stairs?” she asked, a little surprised but thought it was sweet. ”You can wear what you want, and I love any flowers,” she told him. She was suddenly looking forward to this, the last couple of events she'd gone alone but this, this would be fun. ​

Charlie chuckled. "Oh, I know you will. I'll have to do my best to just look like a suitable escort." He told her, reaching to take her hand in his. "Oh, of course I will, what sort of gentleman will I be if I didn't escort a lady to and from the ball?" He asked her with a warm smile. "I'll have to search really hard to find a flower that doesn't pale in comparison to your beauty," He murmured, bringing her hand up and pressing a gentle kiss to the back of it.
