Eurydice had almost considered not going to the Dance after the whole debacle that had been Rose Giving. When she'd sent out her own roses, she couldn't think of anything but wonder if her friends and family would be happy to receive those colored roses. She'd never really thought they'd be used to instill fear. The rest of the day, Tizi-nii had stuck to her like glue until she had to go back to her Common Room. She had her suspicions that he was around though when she'd come out of the Common Room and happily met William, who told her that she looked beautiful in her red dress and that he loved the pink rose that was braided onto her hair. It took quite some effort between her and Prim to get Eury ready for the dance enough that she didn't look as distressed as she was the rest of the day.

As they walked, Eury asked him about his day since they separated for the most part after the whole screaming in the library incident when he got a red rose. And then she proceeded to tell him, a heavily edited version of hers - mostly because she wasn't sure how he would be if he heard about the rose from... No, don't think about it. "And so I didn't even get to see what was in the note because Tizi-nii burned it so fast," she finished recounting a delivery just as they stepped into the Hall and Eury couldn't help but stare in wonder at all the pink before giggling at William. "You're sure this is your vibe?" she asked him teasingly.

Valentines was not something William thought much about, if not the school festivities around the day he might have forgotten about it all together. But he was glad it gave him another opportunity to dress up and spend time with Eury. She looked beautiful in her dress and the rose in her hair was a nice touch, the rose he had sent her if he wasn’t mistaken, it made the most sense at least. It made him smile all the way to the great hall.

William was hooked on Eury’s rose delivery story and thought it was a shame she didn’t get to read what was in the note, though if her brother thought she didn’t need to read it maybe it wasn’t a fun message. William didn’t get the impression from the way she told the story that it had been something to worry about and that she was just as confused and curious as William. “That’s so weird, I wonder who it was from,” William laughed as she asked him if the event was to his taste, it wasn’t, but it didn’t matter. “I’m here with you, that’s all that matters,”

Eurydice couldn’t help but pout as he laughed at her. Okay, she was teasing, but it was also a valid question! There was soooo much pink that even she wondered if the Headmaster had gone overboard. Still, it looked so nice, and she was wearing a pink rose - William’s specifically - on her hair too, so she supposed she was definitely on theme. Then she had to look away as his words made her blush. That’s been happening more and more lately. She squeezed his arm a little because even though he made her blush, and she didn’t know how to look at him, his words still made her happy. “What should we do first?” she asked as she looked around, just so they could check out some of the things before she combust right here at the entrance.

The great hall had truly been decked out with every pink thing the headmaster could have mustered up. It was borderline sickening, but he didn’t care all that much, the décor wasn’t what was important, his date was. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to do, there wasn’t as much activities as the yule ball but there were a few places to sit and talks and refreshments. “We could get something to drink and sit at one of those cute tables, though sitting across from me would require you letting go…which isn’t appealing,”

Eury smiled as William pointed out that they could grab themselves a drink and she nodded, walking towards the snack table where Theo-nii had apparently parked himself. A small laugh and redness filled her cheeks as he pointed out that he didn't exactly want her to let go which was silly. "Maybe we can move the chairs about," she said as she looked over at the tables and saw a number of people sitting around already, usually in pairs. "O-or we could do that," she said, blushing a little, as she gestured over to one couple who were sitting across each other, holding hands above the table. "Think they'll have milkshakes? Probably not," Eury said bringing the topic back to the drinks since they haven't even gotten those yet. "Should we get a snack too?"

“I hope so, milkshakes are the best,” Eury was probably right though, they probably wouldn’t have them, but they could settle for juice and snacks and they would get the job done. Maybe they could ask Dak to make them milkshakes after the dance, William could leave that as a surprise, he was sure she would like that. “That would be nice,” William looked at the couples holding hands across the table and thought it would be nice to do the same with Eury, did that make them a couple? Were they ready for that conversation? He wasn’t sure. “Lets get snacks then a table, we can figure out the seating arrangement then,”

Eurydice sighed wistfully as they reached the snacks and drinks. "I really wished they had the strawberry ones. Or vanilla. But I guess serving it for a dance is too hard," she was only a little disappointed but she'd also expected it. She wasn't a fan of much of the drinks laid out and she looked over at the snacks. There at least seemed to be a wide array of them so she was pretty sure they would at least find something they liked. "How about we just share the plate so I don't have to let go of your arm," she asked teasingly as she grabbed a plate with her free hand. Though, if he really didn't want her to let go it two drink glasses and one plate made for three hands. "I think I'll have some of the mini cakes. See anything you like?"

“It wouldn’t be a Hogwarts dance if they weren’t serving pumpkin juice and not much else,” William laughed. He didn’t mind pumpkin juice, but he would in all situations rather have something else. He’d have to make do for the time being. When she asked if he saw anything he liked he couldn’t help a cheeky grin that spread across his face, he wouldn’t say the first thing that popped into his head. “I’ll take some cakes, I like the plate idea, I also have an idea for the hand problem,” William managed to reach into his pocket and pull out his wand and once Eury had filled it with the treats they both wanted he moved it with a swish and flick, “Wingardium Leviosa,” He levitated the plate and and cups that were nestled on it. “Lead the way,”

"When I saw all the pink, I'd sort of hoped there would be pink drinks too. Got my hopes up for nothing, I suppose," Eury said with a pout before it turned into a sigh as she decided to choose whatever was not pumpkin juice. At this point, she would much rather they serve plain ice water, really. She looked at him just a tiny bit confused, though, when he gave her a cheeky grin at her question, and she wondered what got him so amused. She was only asking what snacks he wanted. She was so easily distracted, though, when he started picking out the food he wanted, and she would place all of their shared food onto the plate, teasing and laughing a little because, really, Headmaster, there was a little too much pink on their plate. She grinned at him all too happily however, when he decided to levitate the food and drinks so they could walk with their hands relatively free. It was good because she didn't think she had the willingness yet to try using spells with relatively ease without the fear of it failing at the most inopportune time. Once they found a free table near the dance floor, she helped him settle the food and drinks on the table before looking at the chairs in thought. So she grabbed one with her free hand and just dragged it around the round table so that both chairs were beside one another. That should do it. "Seating arrangement solved?"

“I’m not sure how appealing pink drinks are, but it is disappointing you didn’t get something you were excited about, I don’t like that,” William carried the plate and drinks over to the table that Eury picked out and with her help got everything settled. He was quite impressed that she managed to pull a chair around all without letting go of him so they would be able sit together and eat with their free hand, “Has anyone ever told you you’re a genius? Because you are,” He smiled at her and leaned down to kiss her cheek.

"It's fine, William," Eury said, all too amused that he was that upset she didn't get a drink that she actually wanted to. He gave his arm a reassuring pat because she wasn't really upset that there hadn't been many choices for the drinks. It was like William said, there just weren't that many options for drinks when it came to the dances. "When you come over to Nightray Manor, I'll have Mr. Dodrey, one of our house elves, make his pink lemonade, and you can try it," she said with a grin. "And besides, strawberry milkshakes are pink too," Eury said cheekily as they finished setting up the food and snacks on the table, and she admired that they'd managed all that work when William called her a genius and kissed her cheek, making her blush. She turned to him, heart pounding but nevertheless grinning, "You've been doing that more recently. I thought that was my thing," she teased, even as her cheeks were so obviously pinked from the affection.

William knew he’d gone a little overboard with how he expressed his disappointment. He didn’t like the idea that Eury was missing out on something she wanted, even if she wasn’t taking it as seriously as him. He did smile when she mentioned strawberry milkshakes being pink, he’d give her that one and it did remind him of what he wanted to do after the dance, assuming she agreed to it. “That sounds nice, I think, I’ll certainly try it,” William was looking forward to seeing where Eury lived, she always spoke highly of her home and he was curious to meet her family house elves, he’d never met anyone else who had one. “The kiss? Would you prefer I not do it?”

"Maybe you can come to visit during the break?" Eury asked somewhat shyly. She'd always talked about having William and perhaps Nox and Mr. Dak over to Nightray Manor, but she'd never really invited any of them. She was sure her parents wouldn't mind, and she could certainly ask them over letter. But Tizi-nii was here too, and he was an adult, and he certainly nearly almost never said no to her before. So maybe he could agree or at least talk to their parents that it was an okay idea for Eury to have friends over. "No, I like it when you do it," she grinned up at him, still a little pink in the cheeks.

There had been a standing invitation for a while for William to visit Eury’s home but they hadn’t gotten around to making concrete plans, he smiled when she suggested he visit during the break. “I’d love to, if your family is okay with it,” William hoped to do the same and have Eury over during the holidays one year, maybe he’d invite her to the Christmas ball one year, it would be nice to have company during the event when his family from all over the world flocked to his Uncle James’ house.

William was glad to hear that she liked him kissing her cheek, he wanted it to be something that happened more often, whenever it felt right. “Good, I like doing it,”

Eurydice almost harrumphed at the thought that her parent might not be okay with having William over. Now that was just preposterous. She had so few friends that surely, surely they'd be okay with her having at least one friend over. She'd love to bring Mr. Dak around too, and maybe he could meet Mr. Dodrey and Miss Zeeny. "Well, if Kael-nii can have Elio-nii over, then Mum and Daddy should be okay with having you over," she said as if she wasn't going to let her parents say otherwise. Besides, she thought she was making a fair point.

"You should do it more often then," she said with a teasing grin. Her siblings weren't the most affectionate people. And neither was her dad. Her mum was probably the most physically affectionate. Of course, none in her family had turned her down when she went to them, like they'd hug her back or cuddle with her if she went to them, but it felt so different when someone else would initiate the affection for once. So yes, she wished William would do it more often, she could so easily get used to it and be spoiled by it, but she thought it wasn't such a bad thing to get used to.

William was sure that Eury knew what she was talking about when it came to her family and would trust her assessment. But he would rather avoid showing up only to find he wasn’t actually welcome there after all. Parents got funny with their daughters boyfriends after all…not that he was that, but people might assume. “I hope so, it’ll be fun,” He smiled at her. William was glad to hear that not only did she like his kiss, that she wanted more of it. He wondered if that just included kisses on the cheek or more of the kissing they had done during their first study session together. “What about this?” William asked before leaning over and planting a soft kiss in her lips.

Eury had just continued to give him a cheeky grin and was just about to turn her head away so she could go on to sit and they could enjoy the snacks and drinks when William asked her thoughts on "this". It didn't even take another second before his lips were on hers, and her eyes widened, her face exploding in color. She was sure that her face right now matched her dress, as surprised and flustered as she was about the kiss. It wasn't like this was the first time they kissed. But the last time, they'd been at a game, and he'd wanted Demi to kiss him and Eury had simply been there. She'd been the one to initiate those times too, so this had definitely taken her by complete surprise. "Y-you... I..." she stammered not really knowing what to say, her brain trying to catch up with what just happened. Dear Merlin, she'd just told herself to get used to the cheek kisses, now William would be giving her those too? "I... yes," she finally got out as she turned towards the table, because she was blushing too brightly, and that was embarrassing. But there was a smile she couldn't hide as she bit her lower lip, feeling giddy about it all.

Eury’s reaction to his kiss was about what he had expected, despite having already kissed him and usually being the one to initiate affection she seemed quite prone to blushing whenever William returned the favour. When she had snapped out of it, she seemed willing to more of kisses like that in the future. “Are you gonna forget how to speak every time?”

"It's not my fault you surprise me every time," Eury pouted even as her ears remained stubbornly hot. If he didn't surprise her so much, maybe she wouldn't end up speechless every time! Just he wait, one of these days, she'll be the one surprising him. Besides, she was going to get used to him initiating affection, he'd already started to spoil her by bringing her to all the dances so far. She didn't think getting used to the kisses would be a very bad thing.
