Kiera walked silently through the garden. She loved the beginning of fall when everything started to change colors. The only thing that made her sad was the disappearing of the flowers. Kiera walked slowly taking the time to look at each flower, touching the petals of some. She smiled a sorrowful smile as she sat down on the ground.

Andromeda had been practising her transfiguration with pain and hardship she was never going to get the hang of this animate to inanimate, she just thought it was too barbaric. Deciding to take a wee break from it all she strolled down to the garden and stopped for a moment to look in the direction of the tree which had the disillusionment spell on it. She shuddered and turned away only to see Kiera a bit ahead. For some reason she didn't look her usual cheery self, Andromeda walked up to her.

"Hey Kiera how are you doing? everything alright?"

Kiera looked up from where she sat on the ground. She gave Andy a small smile. "Yeah for the most part. The changing of seasons always makes me sad." she explained. She looked back down at the ground. "I told my dad and my brother about my mom finally this summer." Kiera said.

"Oh" Andromeda's mouth fell open, she remembered her friend telling her about her mother being a death eater and how cruel she was to her. The summer holidays had sounded so idealic when she had first met Kiera on their return to school she should have known something else had happened though.
She sat down beside her.
"Want to talk about it?"

Kiera shrugged her shoulders as Andy sat down. "Lets just say it did not go well." she said quietly. She thought back to how well the summer had been. When her friends left early to go back to their homes for a few days, she had taken the oppertunity to tell her dad and brother.

"I think I broke my daddy's heart again." Kiera whispered.

Andromeda had usually been on the receiving end of Kiera's kindness and her shoulder to cry on, it felt strange that now it should be Andromeda's turn to offer hers to her friend. Her heart went out to her, Kiera was one of the nicest girls she knew.
"Was he completely devastated then?" it really couldn't have been easy for him to learn that the woman he had once loved was a death eater and your all round really nasty person but how he could be upset with Kiera was beyond her.
"You were only the messenger, its not your fault she's the way she is Kiera. How did your brother take it?"

Kiera smiled sadly. "He was devastated. He still loved her even now. He never stopped missing her." she confessed.
Kiera played with the grass on the ground. It was strange for her to be the one being comforted. It always seemed she was the one doing the comforting.
"I know its not my fault but maybe I shouldnt have told him. Cameron was furious. He was mad I hadnt told him sooner and that he had not been allowed to meet her yet. He got over it quick enough though." she explained.

"Oh Kiera" Andromeda leaned over and placed her arm about Kiera's shoulders.
"He needed to know otherwise you wouldn't have felt the need to tell him. Cameron is your brother right? Why do you think he got over it quickly?"

Kiera patted Andromeda's hand on her shoulder. "Cameron is my older brother, and he knew he had to put away his own feelings for our dad. He needed us more than Cameron needed to be mad." she explained. She looked at Andy. "Im so busy worrying about my own stupid problems I forgot to ask how you were." she said shaking her head.

"Good grief don't even worry about me, its good for me not to be centering on my own stuff all the time. Really need to listen more. I'm good honestly" she smiled and it was true after telling the girls at the end of the previous school year and telling Bruin at the beginning of this one, she felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders.
"Did you see her over the holidays then?"

Kiera shook her head. "No I didnt see her but I couldnt help but feel like I was being watched when I went out. She expects my siblings and I with her at Christmas. Kat was with her this summer." she said with a little smile. Kiera still worried she was neglecting Andy by only talking of herself.

"Are you going to go? that would be some Christmas never a dull moment anyhow" she thought about something for a moment before continuing, "Kat didn't come back this year did she Kiera? Is she going to be staying with your mom all the time?"

Kiera sighed. "Most likely I will have no choice. Of course I have to go." she said hating the fact that her opinion didnt matter to Jacqueline. Kiera noticed the pause in Andy's voice. "No, Katheryn is going to start attending either Durmstrang or Beauboxins. She doesnt mind how our mother is now. She was too young to remember before mom left." she replied with a shrug. Kat always had a different view on life than Kiera or Cameron.

Andromeda sat forward looking slightly horrified and in dire need of sudden reassurance.
"She's not going to demand you go to one of those schools as well is she?" the thought of Gryffindor house without Kiera didn't really bare thinking about, Kiera was too important a person. She'd just have to have a word herself with Kiera's mother if it came to it.

Kiera shook her head. She had a fierce look in her eyes and a determined smirk on her face. "There is no way she could ever ever force me to do that. I would disappear before it came to that." she said grimly.

"Good" Andromeda smiled nudging Kiera playfully, she would so have missed her friend who in Andromeda's eyes was fast becoming more than the big sister and close friend she had always considered her to be. If anything, she knew that she considered Kiera one of her bestfriends.
"Was that your brothers name that was called out at the naming ceremony?" the name had seemed so familiar to her.

Kiera grinned at Andy. "Whatever would you do without me?!" she teased dramatically. She nodded to Andy's question. "Yes ma'am it was." she said with a roll of her eyes. "Now hes going to go getting himself a big head." Kiera laughed.

"How do you feel about Hilary getting called out and not you? I know that's a bit personal. I mean I like Hilary a lot she's a Gryffindor after all but well I had thought it might be you or Bruin" she was only telling the truth after all, "Who will you be cheering for then, your brother or Hilary?"
she covered her mouth and looked apologetically at Kiera.
"I've a really big mouth today don't I?"

Kiera laughed as questions poured from Andy. "Its okay. I think we are close enough that you can have a big mouth with me sis." she said with a playful nudge.

"I thought it would be Bruin to be honest. I would have wanted to be Champion if Cameron hadnt gotten it for Durmstrang. I cant compete in life or death situations with Cam. I would be too worried about him." she said with a grin. She took a breath and shrugged her shoulders. "I will cheer for Cameron. He is my brother." Kiera said with a sigh. She had thought long and hard about who would get her loyalty.

"oooh don't let any Gryffindors hear you say that, that's like Anarchy" she laughed nudging her again, "I tell you what, I'll sit beside you and cheer loudly too but for every school that'll confuse everyone. People know I'm batty anyhow and like fair play, so they won't mind me cheering for everyone else as well as our own champ".

Kiera laughed. "Andy you are not batty!" she said shaking her head. "I cant help but cheer on my brother. Hilary might be my yearmate but I hardly know her anymore. We were closer when we were younger. Wolfy I know you better than I do her." she said jokingly. Kiera hoped she wouldnt offend Andromeda with her new little nickname.

Andromeda laughed and nudged Kiera playfully.
"Do you know what's funny about that? Bruin had chosen it as my nickname for when we're on the quidditch pitch before he ever knew about my condition, I must just have the whole wolf vibe about me. Wolfy!" she tutted and nudged Kiera again.
"I think I've spoken to her once or twice but our paths don't really cross much, I do hope she does well. I mean I have to cheer for Hilary as she's our schools champion and a Gryffindor, I feel as if I should cheer for Nina as she's technically a Hogwarts student too just a different school of Hogwarts, Hoggy's as some of them call it and I must cheer for your brother now too, as well... he's your brother. Maybe I'll just pretend I've larengitis on the day." she smiled at her friend.

Kiera laughed at Andy's jokes. She was happy her friend was starting to do better with the issue of her being a werewolf. It probably helped now that Andromeda's friends all knew about the issue and none of them cared. "You can sit with me. I will totally vouch for you and your throat issues!" Kiera said with another laugh.
