- Flinn is very friendly, quite confident and also very flirty, however he is extremely loyal. He is very popular and has lots of friends, many of them muggles, though he grew up in a wizarding home.

- Flinn's father-Joseph McCarthy is dead, he died of a heart attack when he was nine. His mother remains-Ellen McCarthy. She is very protective of her son, and he is the apple of her eye-he has no siblings.
