Daintree’s party had actually worked out pretty well, it had been as popular as he had hoped and those who went along seemed to have a good time. He was pleased with his efforts and keen to have it happen again. But now, that it was over there was the next event to think of, and also the yuleball. He had asked tres to the ball while at the event that he had just hosted, it had been a bit of a last minute decision, but it had worked out in his favour since she had said yes. The slytherin had his arm out to her, he’d seen his brother do the same, the older students do the same. The Slytherin walked at Tres’ pace, she was the one with the heels, so of course as they made their way to the ball he would make sure he was helping her. He didn’t say much as he went. There wasn’t a whole lot to actually say. Once they were at the hall, she glanced at her and then smiled, ”Would you like to dance?” he knew from the last celebration, where he had danced with her, that it hadn’t really been his scene, that he hadn’t been that good at it, but he couldn’t not invite her to dance, this was a ball after all, and he had to be a good date.

Tres thought that Daintree's pre-party had been an excellent way to break the ice with their classmates, and get into the theme of the evening without being thrown into the deep end. She'd walked with him to the Great Hall, a little slower than normal given her outfit, but she felt as though she had a good handle on things. She still wasn't entirely sure why Daintree had asked her to the ball of all people, but she'd taken it as a very high compliment without asking too many questions. As he asked if she wanted to dance, Tres thought that it was probably what they were supposed to do, and maybe the socialising aspect would come later on. She still wanted to meet some more people and events like this were a good way to do it, but everyone seemed to start of the ball with their own smaller groups or couples. "Alright," she smiled at her date. It wasn't like they hadn't done this before, and while it wasn't the easiest thing, maybe it would give them a chance to talk away from other ears too. Besides she had to make good use of the effort that had gone into doing her hair before the night made it look a mess again, so getting this out the way sooner rather than later was a good idea. Maybe it was her dance skills that had impressed the Beater at Halloween.

Daintree knew it was a slower pace with Tres, but it wasn’t something that he particularly minded. He had offered her to dance, though he had known that he wouldn’t be much better than the time before but this would be easier, this they would be able to manage better, it was probably an easier, calmer dancing to the yuleball rather than of the halloween feast. He was quite pleased when she agreed to dance. He noticed one of the older students move to stand in front of their partner to begin dancing. He decided he would do just that, he let go of her arm and then turned in front of her. He held out a hand quite purposefully. When she took it, he was careful to place his hand genlty on her hip as he had seen others do. It was a soft touch, and it would be to dance a little easier to the slower back and forth. He gave a little smile to her, ”I hope I’ve improved in my dancing,” he told her with a little smirk on his face, he thought it would be good to remember their last celebration, it would be easier to enjoy this, and the conversation could stay light and easy. ”Did I tell you, that you look really nice? You should let me buy you more dresses,” he told her with a sincere expression, he of course knew this was just one dance, but he always knew to throw money at the situations.

Tres was happy to let her date for the evening lead the way, and he stood in front of her so she took his hand, laying her other on his shoulder with a smile. "Have you been practising?" she asked, slightly bashful that between their last event and this one Daintree may have actually put in some purposeful effort to try. Was it all to impress her? Her smile only widened when he said she looked really nice. She would never get tired of hearing that, and was moving her head a little so that her hair would fall perfectly against her head as he watched her. Stupid Tyler, he'd been wrong about calling her ugly and now she was going to prove that some people, good people, actually thought differently. "I work at Vibez, they sell a lot of EVELYN dresses," she mentioned, not wanting to deny his offer out right, she knew her collection could have done with improvements, especially when her income only allowed her to buy a new one very rarely, but it was polite not to just jump at the chance too quickly. "Maybe I can introduce you to people there?" She mainly just wanted to see how Daintree would react while they were in the store, but maybe it would be fun too for her to show him around the place she worked. She continued to dance, trying her best to move in time to the music, "I think you have improved." she grinned, feeling as though they were both a little more confident about what they were doing this time.

Daintree shrugged at the question, ”Well, I’m trying to impress this girl and she liked dancing at the halloween feast,” he said with a light tone, obviously trying to imply that it was Tres. He hadn’t actually been practicing, well not for someone but just because he knew it would be good to not make a fool of himself as he danced. He was a little surprised that Tres already had a job, he couldn’t imagine giving up his spare time over the breaks to a shop, but then it also made sense how she’d ended up doing the things for that brand. It still was odd, he knew people didn’t always come from money like he did, but even those who didn’t, didn’t tend to work. Perhaps Tres was just that sort of person. He thought it was pretty neat, ”Sure, I’d like that,” he replied, he would be bored in a place like Vibez, but if Tres wanted him to come along, he would. ”But, only if you let me take you out at some point over the break, go to the shops, get dinner, like a proper date,” he said. He didn’t really know how to date, but Tres was a good ally, she was pretty, she was bbold and they were in a house together. Dain also just didn’t know how to date, but he figured, if she liked clothes he could take her to some shops and buy her what she wanted, and then treat her to dinner. It wasn’t like in the grand scheme of his father’s money it would be that big of a deal. As they danced and she said that he had improved, he couldn’t help the smile on his features. He nodded, he raised his arm to let her spin under it, really try and impress her and make sure that they both had a good time.

A wide smile appeared on the third year's face when she heard Daintree was trying to impress someone, knowing fulling who and what he was talking about, but she liked that he'd put in the effort to try and please her. The Slytherin continued to dance, careful not to slip and slide in her heels, although she was feeling more and more confident as Daintree kept talking. He seemed content to go along with her suggestion of going to Vibez, although his offer to take her out properly took her a little by surprise, and she did little to hide the pink glow that appeared on her cheeks. "You mean like a real date?" When Daintree had asked Tres to the Yule Ball, she'd thought it was just a one off, but hearing that he actually wanted to spend time with her outside of school too, well, that was different. She tried to imagine what it was like to go and eat out with a boy, and while she was new to it all, she did think that being able to tell her friends what had gone on would be exciting. Technically Daintree had already told her it would be like a proper date, but she had to be sure that's what he really meant. Did he really like her that much? Maybe she was more popular with her classmates than she'd really realised. "I think that would be great," she smiled sweetly, already looking forward to the doors it would open. Tres spun under his arm, enjoying this night even more than she had expected to. "You need to tell me what sort of things you like to eat," she grinned, knowing that she was going to have to get to know him as more than just friends, but it was a good of a starting point as any.
