Vikram had considered his outfit carefully, before deciding on a lighter suit- he felt it more fitting, and just a touch more casual for his first Yule Ball. He walked to the Slytherin house entrance, a single pink rose in hand. He'd taken the time to look into it. Winnie had told him she didn't need flowers, so he'd just brought the single bloom, twirling it gently in his fingers. He leant against the stone, watching for his date to appear. He was curious to see how the night would go. How their first 'date' might be. He wasn't sure it was an official date, but then they'd not discussed the terms of what a date might be. He made a mental note to ask.

Winnie had decided on the dress that her parents had bought. She had added a few little things to it, but mostly, it just made the dress a little more fun than her parents had wanted. She had been looking forward to this for weeks, since she had skipped the halloween feast, she just so badly wanted a nice night to have fun. Winnie was eager too, to spend the time with Vikram. She walked out of the slytherin area and gave a smile as she immediately spotted him. The suit was nice, a little more casual but she knew it fitted with hers. She approached him with a smile. "Evening,"

Vikram smiled as Winnie appeared, straightening. He walked over, offering out the pink rose. "For you," He told her with a sly grin. "I thought just one would be alright. I did the reading- pink roses symbolize promise and new beginnings." He had one arm folded behind his back, giving her his sweetest smile. "It felt fitting. And would look lovely against your skintone," He offered, having studied up on complimenting women as well.

Winnie looked at the rose offered and then up at him. She hadn't really factored a rose into her outfit, or how she was dressed, but it was a sweet gesture. She knew it was, and to reject a sweet gesture would be rude, especially as he had clearly put so much thought into it. She took the rose and put it behind her ear. "Thank you, that's very nice of you," Winnie said, she was being genuine about it being nice, though she didn't think it went.

Vikram smiled, turning and offering out his arm. "Shall we?" He asked, trying to be a gentleman. "You look lovely tonight," He complimented her. "When we arrive, would you like to dance, or look over the offered snacks and beverages?"

Winnie took his arm, pleased that he was acting like a gentleman, that was all she really needed in this first dance. "I'd like to dance," she told him, the snacks and beverages could and should come later, once they had danced. She knew that those she could get at any time, there were far less occasions to dance.

Vikram nodded, leading her away and up towards the dance. He kept some light small talk going until they'd stepped into the room, stopping and taking a moment to appreciate the work that must've gone into the decorations. "This is nice," He agreed, leading Winnie towards the dance floor.

Winnie looked at the hall when they arrived and couldn't help but agree, this place was real nice. It was the kind of effort that immediately, she knew she'd always want to see. "Yeah," she agreed, letting him lead her to the dance floor. She wondered then what Halloween had looked like, since this was so pretty, it must've been too.

Vikram smiled, sweeping her onto the floor. He'd learned how to dance years ago- he'd always thought it was something any gentleman should know how to do. He smiled at her as they danced. "Have I mentioned how stunning you are tonight, Miss Winnie?" He offered again.
