FINALLY

[Rose Holland]

Rose had trouble finding the next girl on her list. She hadn't caught her in the Great Hall or near the dungeons so she just decided to ask around if anyone had seen her. It would probably have been helpful if she had any clue what this girl looked like. She sighed and continued asking strangers, wondering if she was ever going to find this girl. Did she even exist? Her name sounded sort of made up, what if this was a prank?

Then finally someone told her they had just seen her pass. They pointed at a blond girl in the distance and Rose beamed. At last! She ran to the girl, waving the rose as she did. "ROME! are you Rome!?" She yelled in excitement.

Rome knew that this day would just be the worst, she was so uninteresting in the flowers, in giving them to others, in doing anything to do with the roses, the rose giving, that was Cairo's thing. He sent the silly things, he sent them to that horrid Charlotte girl probably. Rome on the other hand couldn't care less about them. So she was going about her day as she always did, when someone called her name, she glanced around at her and had the intention of lying to this girl, because she couldn't be bothered, "Go away kid," she said harshly turning back around and continued walking away, she didn't care about it, about this girl and she certainly didn't want a rose.

Rose frowned when the girl dismissed her. She probably didn't understand why Rose was bothering her. "No, you don't understand!" She said as she followed the older girl around. "I have a rose for you! See?" She hopped up and down and waved the yellow rose at the girl. "It has a note, aren't you curious?"

 

[Rome Savage]

Rome sighed heavily when the girl continued to follow her, explaining what the purpose of her stopping Rome was, but really Rome didn't care, she didn't want a rose, she didn't want to read the note, so she kept moving forward ignoring the girl to a certain extent, "No, just go away you stupid child," the girl shot back as she kept going forward, she didn't care for the rose.

Rose frowned. "What? But someone took the trouble to send it to you. Don't you want to know who did? Why aren't you excited?" It made no sense to Rose and she kept following the girl, waving the rose at her insistently. "It's from a friend, I bet! They'd be so sad if you never got it!" This girl was confusing, why wouldn't you want to accept a rose? It was something nice. Rose glanced at the note, wondering if it would help if she read it out loud to the girl. Making a decision, she opened it and started reading it out loud as she followed her. "Dear Rome, Let's ruin other valentine's, okay?" She giggled at the weird message. "It's from someone named Lanithro."

Rome was intending to keep walking until the girl just left her alone, but the girl had other ideas and instead began to just read out the note that had been sent with the rose, and it was the end that made the blonde finally stop, "Lanithro?" she understood the message, in fact she wholeheartedly agreed, but why was he sending her a rose. She liked him definitely as a friend, or well, she liked him more than she liked anyone else in this school. Rome wiped around and took the flower and the note roughly from the girl's hands, "Go away now," she told her quickly, but there wasn't as harsh a tone as there had been before. She should find Lanithro so that they could ruin other people's celebrations.

It felt like a victory when the girl finally took the rose from Rose, even if she did it in a rough way and didn't seem all that grateful. "I knew you would want it." Rose said, nodding. "Enjoy! Have a good day!" Rose may be eternally optimistic, but she knew better than to stick around. She waved quickly and then walked in a different direction, glad this delivery was over with.
