Lilyanna had been dating Diane for quite some time now. She was one of the only people that understood her. When she didn’t have Eleanor or Tholomyes to turn to, Diane was always there for her, which she appreciated. They planned to go out for dinner together. The woman never usually liked to go out and eat food, as she was never quite sure what the people at the restaurants cooked with. Eleanor assured her that everything would be okay and that she should just focus on Diane the whole night and it would soon be over with, which definitely made her feel a little better. She wore jeans, a striped shirt, and a beige jacket which she thought was nice enough to go out in. She never usually wore her beige jacket, so she thought going out for dinner with her girlfriend would be the perfect opportunity to do so. The woman stood out the front of the restaurant they agreed to meet at, feeling far too uncomfortable to walk in by herself. She dug her hands into her pockets and looked down at the ground, avoiding eye contact with anyone whilst she waited on the path.

Dating Lilyanna had not been without its challenges. It could be said that their relationship was not as far along as she might have liked it to be after years of being together. Lilyanna was worth her patience and persistence and she was looking forward to spending an evening with her. Her girlfriend suggesting a restaurant for their date night had certainly surprised her given Lilyanna's feelings about restaurants generally, but perhaps she was attempting to push herself out of her comfort zone, which was always an encouraging sign.

After wrapping up her work for the day, Diane changed into her dress and went to meet Lilyanna at the front of the restaurant. "Babe," She called out to get her girlfriends attention, walking up to her but not initiating contact, she learned a long time ago that Lilyanna wasn't a touchy person.

Lilyanna smiled as she heard her girlfriend's voice, looking up to see her wearing quite an attractive dress. She thought she looked rather nice. "Hi." she said shyly, tucking her hair behind her ear. She thought Diane might get a little cold in the dress, but knew better now than to speak her mind too much. If Diane was wearing it, it meant that she liked it, and Lilyanna shouldn't say anything to her in case she took it the wrong way. "I've heard this place offers pudding for dessert." she told her. Lilyanna liked pudding and she hoped that it would actually be good as there were some places where it wasn't. She turned on her heels, heading towards the entry. Luckily, most of the people had already headed inside, and so it didn't take long for the man to show them to a table outside on a deck that overlooked the lake. It was fancy, and looking around, there were plenty of other couples, so Lilyanna knew that they were in the right place. She sat down in one of the chairs. "Do you think the deck could collapse if there was too much weight on it? What do you think is holding it up?" she asked, not worried but just curious.

Diane had a moment of uncertainty when she saw the difference in dress between herself and her girlfriend but she quickly shook it off and just hoped Lilyanna liked the dress she had worn for her. She grinned when Lilyanna said she had heard they served pudding as part of their dessert menu. "We'll have to get it and find out, but this seems like a fancy place so I would hope all their food is good," Diane turned and followed Lilyanna inside the restaurant where they were taken to their table on the deck that overlooked the lake. Diane was pleasantly surprised to find it was warmer than she expected which made her dress choice all the better. Lilyanna's choice of conversation was certainly an interesting one, but she was used to her girlfriend saying whatever came to her mind. "No I don't think so, it will be built specifically to have a lot of people on it so it should be fine,"

Lilyanna smiled a little as Diane assured her that the food would be good. It made sense that it would, and hopefully they had a good variety of food to choose from. As Diane responded to her question, Lilyanna shrugged, still not quite confident enough about the deck below them. She wasn't scared, but simply curious. "There have been many structural failures in the past, so it is a possibility that it could collapse. I think these days they use composite and PVC decking. You don't need to maintain it too much that way." Lilyanna mused. A fancy restaurant like the one they were at surely wasn't stupid enough to not have a good deck, so she was sure it was made out of the right material. When the waiter came over with the menus, Lilyanna scanned it, quickly turning to the back of the page before looking back up at her girlfriend. "I found the pudding." she said simply, wondering if Diane was looking for it too. "There's sticky date or chocolate. Which would you prefer?"
