There was a lot to cover in the fifth years Herbology lessons, and even though Leda felt as though she was rushing her students through the content, she knew she had to keep the speed up if she wanted to see them all succeed in their exams.
"Okay we have two plants to see today so let's get cracking," she told them, not even waiting for the fifth years to take a seat before breaking out into the explanations. "This is a Flitterbloom, a wonderful plant that is often mistaken for Devil's Snare," she pointed at the trendrils, "although they're much less dangerous and aggressive. Apparently." Honestly if anyone wanted to come and try it out for themselves they were more than welcome to, although Leda wasn't particularly keen to try it herself.
"And this one here is the Flutterby bush," which in Leda's ears sounded like a pony one of her daughters might play with. "These only bloom once a century," and Leda knew they were lucky that every year they managed to find a plant ready to bloom for this class, "so it's a magnificent plant," some would say. "The blooms are said to adapt their scent to be whatever is most appealing to the observer, feel free to have a whiff," Leda told them. "Today we'll be working on trimming and pruning these bushes today, so start off trimming away the overgrown areas and any dead leaves and just work your way around the bush until it looks neat and tidy." Leda grinned at the fifth years, pointing towards the sheers. "Anyone who removes a finger will be escorted to the hospital wing and have a five galleon fine." she added, moving to the front of the class, letting them get on with it.
