Trilby Kiedis had passed her sixth year exams effortlessly, the report that was owled to her home had been one any parent would be proud of but her father had barely glanced at it. Her mothers health was deteriorating and though the spirit of that horrible house had told herself and Carlisle a long time ago that she would recover, she never really did. Her mind returned somewhat but her body had suffered in the years that she had been mentally devoid of life. Many days and weeks she had been force fed but it was not enough, she had wasted away so that now she was little more than a fragile ghost lying in a hospital bed waiting for her husband to return to her. Trilby had asked if she could go but her mother did not want to see her. This had hurt beyond anything else in her life, so that when her father had handed her back her report and said merely that it was 'satisfactory'; Trilby did not flinch.

He had left then to go to the woman he loved so much trusting that Trilby could take care of herself. She could of course, she had learned how to a long time ago. As the days passed she decided to put aside her studying for her NEWTs, she always liked to be ahead and as these particular exams meant everything to her she wanted to be completely ready. But she knew that in another few days she was to go and meet Sebastian and his grandmother, a light at the end of her lonely tunnel. Deciding to go for a stroll through the beautiful town of Marseilles to window shop and see if there were any new dresses she could buy for herself, Trilby set off.

It was about an hour later that she stood before a beautiful quaint shop, one she always enjoyed looking at the window displays of. Today was no exception of course, inside the window was a beautiful cream and mint green dress. She could not take her eyes from it and wondered if she could get away with wearing something like that for the yule dance that year.

Xavier was not really one to miss school or care about school all that much, but once he was Graduated and thrown out into the real world he began to miss it more than ever. Being a Professional Quidditch Player was also a lot harder than he thought it would end up being, he had only been a Chaser for one of his favorite teams back in France for a couple of month and he had received already a few injuries. Thankfully his uncle, Noah Snow had been on the team for years now and managed to take care of him every chance he got, if it hadn't been for that man Xavier might have been eaten alive by the other Quidditch team members and their brutal ways of training. Even with all the training he was become a bit well known now, people asked for his autograph, he was actually gaining fame just like his uncle had and just like his father had for being known as a very rich man. Xavier had to admit that he liked it, he liked the attention and all the people who wanted to be around him now that he played Quidditch. Still this was always this biting loneliness that sat inside him, his parents and siblings wanted nothing to do with him, and Trilby had run from him as if he had two heads or something.

It wasn't like he meant for things to get bad between them, he didn't even know why she broke up with him, it must have been for that Sebastian kid that she was dating right now. She obviously really liked him and would rather be with him then she would with someone who obviously cared enough about her to try and change himself. 'She could have at least said more to me at my Graduation.' He sighed and brought a hand up to run it through his light blonde hair, today he decided to take a walk though Marseilles to clear his head before practice. He had been having a peaceful walk as well, at least until he caught sight of the one person who was still able to make him lose his breath as if she were his, Trilby was in Marseilles. And something in his body made him have to go and talk to her, he couldn't just leave her be, maybe this was his chance to fix everything.

"That's a pretty dress." Was his first comment, as he stepped over to her and saw what she was staring at, he thought it would look good on her but couldn't say anything because he didn't want to be creepy about. He had the softest of smiles on his face and he looked almost like just like he did in school, maybe a little more adult like and wiser if even possible, being out of school really did make you see things differently. "Hey Trilby." He said softly once again, he hoped and prayed that she would stay here and not run away on him again. He only wanted to talk and fix things between them.

Just as she was about to turn away an all too familiar voice spoke and she felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise, goosebumps erupted all over her arms and instantly Trilby wanted to be anywhere else but here. At first she could not bring herself to turn and face him, the hand that touched the window did so now to hold on for dear life. Her legs felt weak and she knew that she would make a complete fool of herself as soon as she turned around and looked at him. Remembering then that she was wearing the chain he had intended to give her but hadn't, his sister doing so instead; Trilby wondered if he would notice her removing it now. Knowing it was too late and of course he would, she turned her face around but not her body. She would feel the need to embrace him if she did; she would feel the age old French obligation of kissing each cheek as way of greeting and she knew she couldn't.

"Hello Xavier" she had wanted to sound strong and self assured but her voice betrayed her and instead sounded nothing more than shakey and somewhat breathless. Made worse as soon as she saw him. He had always been handsome but now with all the time he had spent working as a professional quidditch player, he was leaner and so more toned than she remembered. Yet it only seemed like yesterday that she had made an utter fool of herself at his graduation. Peeling her eyes from him she looked back at the dress, wondering if she didn't speak would he leave? Surely he was here with his pretty young girlfriend? Trilby didn't want to think about the two of them together but soon rescued herself by deliberately thinking about Sebastian and their vacation together shortly.

"Yes, it is a pretty dress. I was considering it for the .. the yule dance" she didn't know why she said it but if felt necessary to show him that she had moved on as he had, but thanks to his sister they both knew this already about one another. With a sigh then she closed her eyes for a second before turning to face him as she opened them again.
"How are you?" do you know you still have my heart and I need it back. It all went completely unsaid of course but it was there on her tongue all the same, "you are all over the papers now. Perhaps I should be asking you for your autograph."

Xavier could tell that Trilby sounded uneasy felt bad that she still wasn't all that thrilled to have him around her, hopefully after some she wouldn't mind him being around. He wasn't going to try anything because he respected her and her boyfriend way too much, instead he thought he should see if she wanted to hang out with him a little since he was far too bored and had some free time. "You should totally buy it Tril, it would look awesome on you." If she didn't have enough to buy it herself then he would be very willing to buy it for her, even if she was going to end up wearing it for another guy, he would still like to her smile. He had enough money to buy the world but for some reason he found himself wanting to waste it on her and his family, all the money he could ever want and he still wasn't that happy of a person he needed to remember to buy Hilde another gift before the summer ended too.

"As much as I love the fame, please don't. It makes me feel awkward when my friends do that. I've been worked to death and tired all the time...Quidditch is way less fun than it sounds. How have you been?" He asked as he flicked some of his blonde hair out of his face, he had a cute grin on his face and he couldn't help but look a little shy in front of her, he felt like he was always in judgement and that one wrong move could ruin is chance of even being her friend forever. "Hey, want to take a walk with me?" He cocked his head to the side and asked lightly, he meant as friends of course but he hoped she would realize that too.

She shook her head and slightly shrugged glancing back at the dress and the price tag. As beautiful as the dress was, it was well out of her price range. She could find another dress or alter one of her mothers, it didn't really matter all that much. Sebastian loved how she looked no matter what she wore.
"It is only a dress" she smiled looking at him. Trilby felt guilty for even standing here talking to him, what would Sebastian think? She would of course be honest with him and tell him when they saw one another that she had met Xavier but she would also have to explain to him about going to his graduation so far away. Not sure if he would understand or is she did herself, Trilby focused her attention on the young man before her.

"I would never want you to feel awkward, I meant it only as a joke. I suppose as I don't jest very often it is hard to recognise when I do" she smiled pushing a lock of hair behind her ear. How could she tell him that she knew exactly the hardships he was experiencing during his quidditch training. Her dorm mate Selena's brother was groundskeeper for The Quiberon Quafflepunchers and often got to see them in action. He was always trying to impress people with his retelling of how rigorous they trained, how exhaustingly they pushed their new recruits in order to get the best out of them. She had listened grief stricken at some of the things he had told her, so that all she had wanted to do was apparate there and wrap Xavier up in cotton wool but how pathetic was that of her?

She nodded her head instead in understanding of his situation before replying to him.
"I am good ... top of my class as always" she smiled, feeling slightly nervous she pushed her hair behind her ear again though it didn't need it now. A walk sounded good, she may have been standing in the fresh sea air with him but she felt claustrophobic. He was too close to her, too close to her heart that felt as if whatever emptiness had been left by his absence was filled completely with his standing there.
'Sebastian', 'Sebastian' she chanted inwardly over and over again, she was faithful and loyal and honest. A walk was innocent there was nothing wrong with taking a walk... was there?
"Yes" she blurted out as if she was afraid incase she would change her mind.

They turned then and began to move along the cobbled path of the harbour town. It was beautiful here. She clasped the handle of her bag with both hands as if afraid to leave it go or to free up one of her hands at all incase it reached for one of his own.

Xavier slowly turned and looked at Trilby with a raised eyebrow, of course it was painfully obvious to him that she wanted the dress. "Too bad, your going in there and getting that dress." He handed her something, it was money and if she didn't take that then he would walk in there and buy it himself and bring it to her, he wasn't afraid to embarrass himself for a pretty girl anymore. Besides he had done it plenty of time when it came to his stubborn sister and buying outfits she would clearly look good in, his blue eyes stared at Trilby carefully waiting to see if she was going to be difficult or go easy on him for once because either way he would get his way.

"Eh, I guess thats true because I've never really heard you joke. Besides, it's already a little awkward between us anyways if you haven't noticed." Xavier shrugged his shoulders, he figured it was because they hadn't really established that they were still friends or anything after the breakup and that made things between them just slightly weird. His ice colored eyes caught the sight of the necklace that he didn't have the heart to give her himself was around her neck, he smiled at the thought of how good it looked on her. "Your wearing the necklace..." Xavier hadn't really expected his twin to give her the necklace but he was thankful that she did, he was going to give it to her the day they had broken up but she left before he could even show it to her. He was also going to ask if she wanted to meet his mother, Danielle Lefevre was probably one of the most difficult people in the world to impress but he thought Trilby could manage, now he wasn't so sure anyone could get to his mother like that with all the issues she was stuck with overseeing.

As he started to walk he listened to Trilby say that she was top of her class as usual, and that oddly enough made him proud. "Do you know if you made Head Girl or not?" He asked with a charming grin, he recently found out Theodore had gotten Prefect and it made him smile everytime to think of his little brother secretly as a good guy. The air smell really nice and he had to admit that taking a walk was a good idea, maybe even a stop for some ice cream of coffee could assist as well.

Trilby felt more humiliated than anything else as he pushed money into her hand in order to buy the dress. Whatever else Trilby had her pride and would not accept such a gift not from him or anyone. She coloured slightly as she pushed the money back into his hand and moved enough away from him so that he couldn't give it to her again.
"I think you probably just made things more awkward by doing that" she told him squeezing the handles of her bag for reassurance.

"I'm not a charity case Xavier, I would have a hard time explaining that dress to my boyfriend" her chin had tilted up slightly, her pride niggled somewhat by his generousity and of course he would then notice the necklace she wore. Why couldn't she have worn any other chain today besides this one? Her hand came up to touch it automatically, lowering her head as if to hide her rising embarrassment. Would she ever feel anything but awkward around him now?

She was glad the subject was changed to something safe like school and almost visibly sighed as a result.
"No, we won't know for another week at least when we get our list of supplies and books. Not sure if I will make it though" she shrugged wondering what other contenders were there for the position. It was good to be able to think of something else for a moment though his close proximity wasn't helping her concentrate much.

Xavier shook his head softly at Trilby and pieces of blonde hair fell into face his face as he did so, he would never think of her as a charity case but he had to admit that she had a point. Having her try and explain who got her the dress and why to her boyfriend didn't sound like all that much fun. "How are you two doing by the way?" Xavier found himself asking her even if it bothered him to even think about the two of them together like that, he didn't have a problem with Sebastian and thought he was a remotely good guy, still he couldn't help but be jealous. Though at the same time he couldn't help but want to spy be curious and see if everything was going perfect for them, unlike they apparently had been going for him and Trilby when they were dating. Him and Hilde were ven on common grounds about their feelings for that certain someone, he vaguely wondered if she had any better luck than he was having.

"I think you'll get it Tril, you'd be the perfect Head Girl." He grinned at her softly, she was absolutely brilliant and dedicated to her to her studies at school. To Xavier that was all that was really needed of a Head Boy or girl, that and a decent personality that kept them out of trouble and able enough to run the student body. Xavier was neither Prefect or Head Boy, but he didn't really mind all that much because the responsibility would have killed and brought his level of fun down so much. The older Snow truly felt pity for his little brother, who was growing up at such a fast rate he could barely recognize the inner child in him anymore. "Makes me miss school sometimes, Quidditch can be a little too brutal on me at times." He sighed and lifted his green jacket sleeve a little to show Trilby the various bruises he received from rough play during Quidditch. His uncle was a Beater on the team and oddly enough cause probably the biggest amount of injuries on him, the man really knew how to hit a bludger.

"Hey, do you think we should stop for some coffee or ice cream too?" Xavier asked, stopping for a moment as his icy blue eyes sparkled with playfulness. She had not run from him yet and them made him feel very comfortable that she wouldn't still hate him after today.

Trilby smiled as she thought of Sebastian then, it was always so much easier to smile and relax when she thought about her best friend. She became wistful in that moment and truly cared not that it was Xavier standing there beside her asking her about her relationship with Sebastian. The two relationships had always been extremely different, how they made her feel and how she felt about them. Always around Xavier she had felt charged, defensive, vulnerable as if every moment together she had been expecting the worst. As if she could never truly believe that someone like Xavier could feel anything for someone like her, when he could have any girl he wanted. With Sebastian it had been easier, they were bestfriends. They had a connection from the very beginning, a trust that had only been shaken once before by their own hasty actions but she had never really doubted him.

"We are doing wonderfully" she told him, "I'm going to see him at the end of the week actually. I'll be spending a few days at his home."
She didn't want to talk about Sebastian with Xavier, it felt like a betrayal somehow so she was glad that the conversation moved on. She could only smile politely at him when he told her she'd make a perfect Head Girl. It was a role that she had worked all her scholastic life towards and if she lost out she would be devastated.

They continued walking and when they stopped it was so Xavier could show her his bruises. Her mouth fell open and before she knew what she was doing, she was reaching for his arm as a gasp escaped her. Her gentle fingers held his arm tenderly afraid in case she would add to his bruises or hurt him. Realising just how close she had moved to him and that she was genuinely touching him she released his arm and stood apart once more. Both hands gripping her bag once more.
"Coffee and ice-cream ... sure" she said hastily trying to suppress the tingling of her fingers.

Xavier had to admit that he felt that it was bittersweet to hear that they were doing wonderfully, he hated that she seemed happier when Sebastian than she did with him but also felt happy for her because she seemed very happy about all of it. It sounded like her summer was going to be eventful then, it was still hard to believe that she had a whole year still to go of school before she would graduate just like he had. "Sounds like you'll be having a good summer. Mine unfortunately will be most filled with Quidditch, eventually I plan to go up and visit my aunt though. She's having a baby and I want to see how she's doing and all." He grinned softly not wanting to let on that he was a sucker for kids and little babies, he found them to be adorable and easy to have fun with because they still had that childhood innocence he wished he had kept longer in his lifetime. The fact that he was finally going to have cousins too excited him, it meant a bigger family for him to be around in due time.

When Trilby gasped and touched his bruised arm he tensed a little, but marveled that the sparks were still there whenever she touched him. It meant that at least there was still something there on his part, thankfully she pulled away and he was able to cover his arm once again from the hideous bruises that the bludgers had left. "Don't tell anyone but the first time I was hit by a bludger I cried a little, and to defend my honor I will just say that..it really hurt man." He pouted as she rubbed his stomach where he remembered being hit by a Bludger the very first day he started his training with the team. They had all taken a liking to him but of course Noah wasn't going to go easy on a family member, in fact sometimes he thought his uncle was a little to hard on him. When Xavier and Trilby had both arrived at the place where he figured they could have have their coffee and ice cream he motioned for Trilby to follow him to a table that was seated outside the Cafe, the fresh air sounded much better then being stuck inside. Xavier pulled Trilby's chair out for her before he sat down himself and smiled softly at her.

A waiter came to take their order and he ordered a tea, the closest thing to coffee that he actually would bother to drink before he had practice. Xavier let Trilby order whatever she wanted before he watched the waiter leave, for some reason he figured that the man had thought that they were dating or something. 'Sadly that is not the case.' Xavier flicked some of his blonde hair out of his face before he decided to speak again, "Let me ask you something Trilby. Why did you come to my Graduation?" He asked softly, he knew it was probably something that was a little improper to be asking her but he couldn't help himself. She had shown up but the moment Hilde had shown up she ran off without even so much as a goodbye to him.

She didn't know why it troubled her that he was happy for her; would she really have preferred sulking and massive brooding that she was with someone else and not her? Trilby had no time to think about any of it but knew she would once she returned home. She would probably spent the rest of the day thinking about it and the conclusion she would eventually come to as she drifted off to sleep, was that her happiness meant something to him because she knew without a shadow of a doubt that she would want him to be happy too and would be happy because of it. But those hours of contemplation lay out before her and in the here and now, she listened to him speak about children and for a split second she could envision the two of them holding a baby together. She blinked furiously trying to dispel such vivid imagery, convinced she must have nodded her head and smiled in the right places.

He laughed and joked about his tribulations in quidditch and a few times she had nearly blocked her ears and begged him to stop. She could not bear to hear of him in that much pain. Xavier directed her to a table and gladly she sat down smiling at the waiter as he approached them before ordering a chilled mocha, it was after all much too warm for ordinary coffee. When the waiter left them to fill their order Xavier turned to her and shattered the illusion that they were friends, that the minutes they had been sharing in each others company were truly tense and fraught with unspoken words and feelings. Why had she gone there?

She looked at him, into his beautiful face and wished she were any where else in that moment. Any where so long as she didn't have to explain to him how stupid she had been. Could she seriously tell him the complete and honest truth? That she had broken with him because of a misunderstanding; that his sister had given her the invitation and necklace, had told her in so many words that he would be happy to see her when he so clearly hadn't been. Looking down at her fingers that played nervously with the edge of the table cloth she attempted to get out of explaining anything.

"Can we not do this? Can't we just sit here and enjoy the little time we have together?" her brown eyes gazed up into his almost pleading with him not to ask her again because she had yet to explain it all to herself. Her own reasons had been vague at best, it had been an irrational decision; one that had made her sad for having seen him with his girlfriend but happy because she had gotten to see him graduate. She had always had faith in him, knew without any difficulty that he had it in him to pass with flying colours and it made her happy to know that somewhere along the line, he had found faith in himself too.

Xavier's tea was delivered to him just in time for him to notice that Trilby did not look well at all, she in fact looked nervous as hell. Then she dared to ask him if they could not do this and to enjoy the time they had, it made him grow confused and nervous himself because of the wording she chose. "Okay, but way to make it sound like were going to never see each other again." Xavier took a sip of his tea and stared at Trilby carefully, there was something deep inside hip that was telling him to face the facts straight up because chances were that he probably wouldn't see Trilby again for a long time. Unless she came to one of their games, and chances were that even then he might not get a glimpse of her amongst the crowd of others that always came. His blue eyes met with hers for a moment before he smiled shyly, he hated saying goodbyes so most of the time he preferred just not to have them all together. "Were still going to be friends okay, so don't be afraid to ever tell me anything okay?" His smile faded as he lifted his tea again to take another drink, he almost wished he could give her an apologetic hug right now but figured he better not and just save himself the heartbreak. When the day was over he was definitely going to write to Hilde about all of this since he couldn't exactly tell Trilby all he was feeling right now. Xavier decided that for some reason he was extremely thirsty today and went to take another drink from his tea, but then he heard something that made him freeze up and become very worried looking...he could immediately tell who it was that had called his name.

"Uh oh, here comes trouble." He took a swift gulp of his tea and turned his head into the direction of the person calling his name. It was none other than his Uncle and fellow teammate, Noah Snow. If people thought Xavier was bad with flirting and trying to pick up woman then they would think that Noah was far worse than the younger male could ever be. He just hoped the man behaved around Trilby.

Noah had caught his younger nephew sitting with some pretty girl and could not pass up the chance to go over there and harass the young man, if he could pass it up then he probably wouldn't be heading over to the table and would have walked away and tried to mind his own business for once. "Well heeeey there little nephew of mine. Who's the pretty lady you have there?" Unlike Xavier's his French accent was amazingly thick since he had spent most of his life in the country and speaking his native tongue instead of English. His deep ice blue eyes glanced down at the girl before he flashed her s charming smile, she looked really young so he had to figured that she was probably around Xavier's age of maybe even younger. His handsome features tried to figured out if he had seen her before but to no avail since he didn't recognize her one bit. He wasn't sure if she knew him or not, he had been a famous Quidditch player for nearly nine years so she just might recognize him, if not it was no bother to him.

"I'm Noah Snow, this little guys's uncle and the official 'babysitter'." Noah almost was tempted to ask if he could sit down, but that was really up to the lady because he could easily overrule anything Xavier said to him.

Her heart felt as if a thousand needles were being stuck into it with his words, she had hurt him and knew at some point she would have to come clean about her stupidity. Was today really the day for that though?
"I ... I meant I must go back to school and you must carry on with your career, your life" she sipped her own drink and as he told her not to be afraid, Trilby knew that she would tell him. Just as soon as she got the courage within her to do so. Her own voice was practically drowned out by another as she looked to Xavier.
"It was a mistake ... I thought you were going to end ..." she got no further as Xavier warned her about oncoming trouble but there was enough brewing inside her to fill her with apprehension. Her insides were in tormoil, her fingers shaking slightly as she raised the cup once again to her lips and used her other hand to steady it on it's return journey to the table.

The man that came to their table was goodlooking, devilishly so and the family resemblence was undeniably there but Trilby had no interest in the older Snow, none at all. Her eyes were only for Xavier. She did not mean to be rude but finally she had gotten the nerve up to attempt to explain that fateful day and now she was afraid in case that moment was gone again, never to be repeated. Finally her gaze tore from him and glanced up at another pair of blue eyes. Instantly she wanted to retort that Xavier was not little and he had not been in need of a babysitter in quite some time if ever but she held her tongue and instead motioned to an empty seat so that he could join them. A third wheel may have prevented her from saying her piece but he would also prevent her from doing or saying anything she should not.

"I am Trilby Kiedis and I know who you are. I am not the greatest lover of quidditch but ..." now how could she admit to following it constantly since Xavier made the team. That was how she knew Noah's face only because she had seen the many pictures of the two together in the papers. Otherwise he was just another pretty face, one of many but nothing like his nephew.
"I read the papers."

She sipped her drink once more, keeping her eyes averted from Xavier though all they wanted to do was look at him.

Xavier had gotten her going about something being a mistake, and he would beg her to continue on but of course Noah had to go and ruin it all for him. The blonde angrily turned his head to look at his uncle with utter annoyance, he had just ruined a good moment and Xavier had to admit he wanted nothing more than to smack the man right now. "Noah, stop harassing my friend." Xavier stated with a soft roll of his eyes, he hoped it wouldn't ruin Trilby's day with him, everything was going well so far and he would destroy the man if he dared to ruin it for him. Then Trilby even invited for him to stay and sit and Xavier gave her a curious look, he hoped she wasn't another fan of Noah's. Then again she stated that she wasn't really much of a fan for Quidditch so maybe there was a small chance that she wasn't into that type of guy. 'Why do I even care?' Xavier scratched his cheek and sighed, there was no reason for him to get jealous because he was scarcely part of her life now, if anything he should be leaving her alone.

"Yeah I know what you meant Tril, just try not to make it sound so sad okay? Maybe you should come to a game or two of mine. Or at least try to write, I'm going to need all the friends I can get." He shrugged his shoulders and frowned softly, he knew that soon things were going to get rough and he really would need an escape from all of that. The Snow Family was in utter turmoil right now and soon his mother would be married to whom Xavier figured was the most frightening man alive, plus other small issues that he knew couldn't be avoided as easily as he wished. He vaguely wondered how things were going for Trilby at home, but felt it would be impolite to ask her in front of Noah.

It didn't take Noah long to realize exactly who this girl was and what was up with Xavier, and as soon as he did he couldn't help but give his nephew a sly grin. "So this is the girl your hung-up over?" He asked as he scratched his arm slightly, wincing when he felt Xavier step on his foot roughly for his comment, honestly he didn't see what the big deal was because it was fairly obvious to the older man that he still had feelings for her. In a way it was a little cute, even if Noah thought it was a little heartbreaking that young love even have rough bumps along the way. Maybe that was why Noah never found himself a permanent girl, or maybe it was because his brother had a tendency to take all the good ones before he could even get there.

"It's good to see I'm still mentioned in the papers then. Xavier no need to worry about family issues when you have such a pretty lady in your presence...relax." Noah winked at Trilby before he looked at his nephew again, obviously he was letting the whole family thing more personal than he probably should.

She cringed when he refered to her as his friend but what else was she? Shouldn't she be simply lucky he thought of her as even this? Trilby felt duly reprimanded when he spoke then to her, telling her not to sound so sad. If ever she had been unsure that he had well and truly moved on from her, she wasn't any more. He was not in the slightest bit sad that she had to return to school or he to his life; he probably couldn't wait to get rid of her even now. Why he always made her so confused was beyond her; she was happy with Sebastian and must not forget that for even a moment.

Again he reiterated the friend ideal and she smiled nodding her head, not trusting herself to speak when Noah spoke instead. His claim that Xavier was hung-up on her did not register because she knew differently. He had his girlfriend and she had her boyfriend.
"No ... I am Trilby. I'm not his girlfriend, she's ..." she looked then to Xavier allowing him to fill in the blanks if he so wished. She didn't like how he referred to her as a pretty lady but for some strange reason she hoped that remark would register with her ex-boyfriend.

After finishing her drink she placed the empty cup down and clasping her hands nervously placed them on her lap before reaching then for her bag.
"I should let you two catch up" now that she had mentioned Xavier's girlfriend she was certain that she did not want to stick around and hear him talk about her to them.

Xavier placed on a hand on her arm to stop her from picking up her bag, he didn't want her to leave after he had just gotten some time with her where they were actually getting along. "Please don't leave me here with him." His spoke softly, but his eyes displayed a different feeling than he had spoken to her, his eyes alone were pretty much asking her to stay with him just because he wanted to fix things with her. He removed his hand from her arm and looked at Noah with a soft glare in his eyes, he wanted to kick or smack his uncle for hitting on Trilby simply because he hated seeing her receive affections from guys that weren't him. Allowing his glare to soften he leaned back in his seat and tried to think of something other than what they were talking about, it seemed to Trilby was uncomfortable about talking about being accused of being his girlfriend, or something else but he wasn't quite sure.

"Let's talk about something else, okay?" Xavier had finally thought of something else to talk about that would probably be an interest to the both of them, well hopefully it would be because it was the only thing he could think of. "So Trilby, have any plans of what you want to do once you Graduate?" Noah excused himself for a moment but claimed he would be right back and Xavier nodded before he looked at Trilby once again. Now that they were alone once again he felt his heart begin to speed on in nervousness.

Trilby can post now instead of Noah. :r

His hand reached out and touched her arm before she knew what his intentions were. She felt the bolt of electricity shoot up through her and visibly gasped, looking at his fingers touching her before turning to look at him. His eyes melted her as did his words. His hand slowly moved from her arm and again she looked at where it had been, convinced that his touch would be forever branded there. She stayed put, not daring to move or speak. What could she say to him? Her emotions were going crazy within her and any attempt at thinking about Sebastian had fled from her with his one simple touch. He didn't want her to leave, of course she wasn't stupid. He didn't want to be left alone with his uncle which wasn't exactly the same thing but it was how he had said it.

Trilby remained seated but utterly confused. Noah got up and left them for a moment but Trilby couldn't even look to see where he was going. Her eyes looked only at Xavier, wanted only Xavier. She shook slightly at the realisation and floundered with what she wanted to say.
"I will probably join the ministry" she eventually told him, school examiner to be more precise or to become a professor but she seriously wasn't sure. There had been so much going on in her life the past two years that had distracted her from deciding just where all her studying was to finally take her.
"I'll be speaking with my professors this year who will give me a better idea on what is out there" she knew she sounded so stupid now, all those years of hard work and since she had begun dating him she hadn't given any thought to a future career. She had only wanted to live in the here and now. Looking down at her hands she noticed the slight tremble in each one and clasped them together tightly so that he would not notice. Looking up once again she could not take her eyes from him and knew if she didn't leave him soon, she would do something very very stupid.

Xavier turned his head and smiled at Trilby when she said that she would probably work at the ministry, it seemed like a job that would work well for her. He could see himself working within the ministry someday too but not for quite awhile, he planned to play Quidditch for quite awhile to make sure it was all out of his system before he tried to settle down and start a family or made something final with his life. "Ever see yourself getting married and having kids?" Xavier took a drink of his tea before his rubbed his reddening cheeks and avoided looking at Trilby just in case she became offended or something. He knew he had thought about it before even if his sister didn't he thought it was something that every person should have in their lifetime, their own family. Shifting some of his hair fell into his eyes, he thought she would make an excellent mother too, she had the naturalness for it.

"I think if anything you could work well as an Unspeakable, maybe even a Professor as well." He answered her, Trilby would be good at anything she did most likely so she had a nice chance at finding a job was school was finished for her. He was pretty sure that she could even pull off Auror if she wanted, then again she would be just as crazy as Vincent and his younger sister were because he heard the training was brutal.

His next question completely threw her and she stared at him open mouthed, how was she supposed to answer that one? He wasn't making this easy on her at all was he but then again she seriously didn't deserve it. Fortunately the waiter returned and she asked for a refill though every sensible thought screamed at her to run away from here, from Xavier. Of course once upon a time she had seen herself married with children, it had been brief because unlike most girls she had never wanted those things considering how broken her own family were; Trilby had never dreamed or wished for that type of life for herself. But when she had been dating Xavier and all the times he had spoken about his own family, she had allowed herself a moment to imagine. To picture them married, to see a future with their children. She shook her thoughts into focus, not allowing that image to resurface. It had been a foolish one even when she had first conjured it up.

"I haven't really given it too much thought yet" she said but as this was spoken after his comment on which profession might suit her best, it was anyone's guess as to which she was referring too the married with kids or her career. The waiter left again and though she picked up her cup to drink from it, she discovered she was no longer thirsty.
"Xavier" her voice sounded breathless as if a heavy weight were pressing down on her and she needed to tell him something or she would be crushed under it's weight. But then she stopped and found she could not go on, she could not tell him about her reasons for being at the graduation or how she had been all wrong in her reasons for their breakup. Instinctively her hand moved up to the chain around her neck, touching the pendant and as she did so her eyes closed a moment.

Xavier smiled softly when she said she hadn't decided yet, since Trilby was still young and in school it was okay for her to be unsure about what she wanted to do for a career. The job he had chosen himself was a last minute decision since at one point he was tempted to try and become an Auror like his best guy friend Vincent but decided against it because of all the marks, training, and free time it took away from you. Unless she was talking about the marriage part, which he also didn't blame her for because once again she was young and was still in school. "You still have time. Your not that old..yet." He rolled his eyes at his own comment before he focused on the table intently, he suddenly saw the image of Trilby marrying Sebastian and he felt sick for even thinking about it. Oh well. It wasn't like he could stop her from doing something she wanted either. If she wanted to go off and be with him forever he wasn't going to be cruel enough to stop her, even if he wanted to.

"What is it, Tril?" He asked her when she said his name. His head softly turned to look at her, his icy blue eyes looking almost worried to have her speak to him in a such a way. It was never good when she sounded or looked like that, he hoped he wasn't about to get told off or something. He had the sudden urge to hug her and just hold her close, to tell her he was sorry and that everything was going to be okay. But he knew he could not, her heart didn't belong to him anymore.

She shook her head as a million different emotions clambered for supremacy. If he even touched her now she would crumble and she knew it. Something had surfaced within her that shouldn't have, not if her feelings for Sebastian were true and they had to be. Shaking her head she grabbed her bag in both hands this time and pushed her chair rather noisily back, apologising as she did so.
"I can't stay, please... just let me go Xavier. I have to go" she told him because if she stayed now Trilby knew without a shadow of a doubt that she would blurt out that she loved him. It was filling her up and taking her over until all she could see and think of was him and it was wrong, especially when she had Sebastian. She couldn't hurt him, she wouldn't even if it meant pushing these feelings down deep inside her.

Over and over she chanted to herself that she was a good person, she didn't cheat in exams, she helped those who needed her help, she lived by rules and regulations when others didn't, she loved it would seem two boys but differently. Now she had a distinct idea of the difference, it was far greater than she had imagined before and all it had taken was the mention of a family. Willing her eyes not to glaze over with tears she tried at first not to look at him but as she stood there she couldn't help it. Her brown eyes drank him in as if it were her last time.
"Take care of yourself" she whispered.

Trilby was going to leave again, just like she had when they had first broken up, at his Graduation, and now she was going to do it again to him. He stood up with her but couldn't say a word because he knew that if he said anything to her about it he would throw a fit and yell at her for always leaving when he was trying to show her that he was sorry for whatever he had done to make her hate him so much. 'I guess it means that it's really over then.' She was going to go back to Sebastian where they could live their happy little lives as a couple and constantly make him sick to his stomach just thinking about the two of them. "Okay. I won't stop you." He was going to let her leave and live her life without him always in it, and he would try to live his life normally as if it wasn't bothering him anymore. Maybe he would be able to let go and do more things if he wasn't always trying to catch her eye or look good for her, it was a waste of his time to want someone who didn't seem to want him back.

"No promises Tril, but try to do the same okay?" He still managed to wink before he paid for both of their drinks and pushed his own chair in, he would have practice to attend to soon anyways. He thought that she looked a little sad but he couldn't really tell why she would be sad, he would just leave her be.

Part of her wanted to shout at him to stop her, that she was being stupid again and running for cover from feelings she believed she had no right to feel. He was dating Hilde after all, he had a perfect life now with his quidditch and a beautiful girl, adoring fans and ... everything it seemed but her. Yet she convinced herself that she was not what he wanted or needed, he had moved on from her and he had every right to do so. She had hurt him after all not the other way around.

She nodded her head and took another step but turned to face him when she came level to him.
"You did nothing wrong" the words spilled from her before she could stop them, "You were wonderful... funny, smart, considerate, gentle ... everything a girl could want or need. You are wonderful".

It was as if she needed him to know before she left him, before they parted ways and never crossed paths again. He had never been at fault in their relationship, ever. She just had to be careful she didn't say to much, was all.
"Don't let anyone tell you any different" she stopped afraid to say anymore but instead leaned forward and kissed him ever so gently on his cheek before turning away and hurrying off. She couldn't bare to stay and watch him wipe the kiss away or to look at her as if she were insane. Her feet couldn't get her away from there fast enough and when she thought it was okay to do so apparated back to her home.
