The moment Daiki reached the hall, he realised his mother had been right. She'd packed him a good suit, but he'd opted for some jeans and shirt, and realised very quickly that this was not a jeans and a shirt kind of place. He hoped that Kairi wouldn't mind, they were just to be at this as friends, but he wanted to be a good friend. He was looking around at the front of the hall, curious to explore and sure that Kairi would be there soon enough. It wouldn't matter though, he'd wait for her all night if she needed him to.

Kairi didn't have a dress- she only had a few outfits, and she'd not thought of bringing a dress so she'd not tried to get one. She was feeling nervous, sure she'd be out of place as she walked to the dance in jeans and a cute black sweater, hoping she at least looked a little nice. She hit the bottom of the stairs, spotting Daiki waiting for her, and she relaxed. He wasn't dressed up either. She hurried over, wrapping around his arm. "Hi! Been here long?" She asked, giving him a bright smile.

Daiki was immediately relieved when he spotted Kairi and spotted that she, like him, was not wearing anything too fancy. Everyone else was, but they were and that was all that mattered. They weren't dress too fancy. They didn't need to be either. "Nope," he told her honestly. "What do you wanna do? Dance?" he offered.

Kairi nodded, smiling brightly. "Absolutely!" She started skipping into the room. "Come on!" She admired the decor and set up of the room. "Wow, this is all amazing!" She offered, turning to look at him. "Have you ever seen anything so wonderful?"

Daiki certainly felt warmed by the fact they were both underdressed, certainly in this together, which was all he really wanted. "Yeah, this is amazing!" he said with a warm tone, unable to stop looking around at all the different aspects of the hall. "I don't think so, though Halloween was pretty incredible too,"

Kairi nodded. "Oh, yeah, that was really fun. What do you want to do first?" She asked, completely forgetting that she'd already agreed to dance. She turned, smiling at Daiki. "Thanks for asking me, by the way, this is fun already."

Daiki nodded in agreement, "Of course," he said, it had just made sense to him to invite her, they weren't dating obviously, but they were best friends, and this was a thing you could go to with friends, that much he knew for sure. "Why don't we dance?" he suggested.

Kairi smiled as he asked her to dance, turning and offering out her hands. "Of course!" She agreed, bouncing on her feet a little bit. "I'd love to!" She didn't even mind the crowd- not as long as she had her bestie with her.
