Diana knew from both her older sisters that she had to study for the NEWTs early, but she couldn't focus. She had grabbed a bunch of books and had propped one up so she could look at the pages, but her mind kept drifting. The NEWTs seemed so far away, and Diana already knew she wasn't going to do as well as Phoebe, or even Rose. And then after her, Alice would be even more perfect at it. What was the point of it all? She sighed and grabbed a bottle of nailpolish out of her bag, spreading out an old piece of parchment on the table to protect it as she started painting her nails a dark red. If she glanced at the book occasionally, it still counted as studying right?
