Seraphina was upset - her mother had just told her that she couldn't stay with her nonna over the summer. That meant she would have to go home - again - and deal with the stupid baby and her stupid mother. Why couldn't she just get what she wanted for once? She wished that she had more knowledge in spells becasue at that moment, she wanted to blow up something. She looked at the rock ahead of her and noticed a plaque nearby, but she didn't care. She took her wand and marked a big X into the side of the rock and looked at it. She made a big X over top that one to some a sort of asterisk. The wand writing didn't seem to be helping so she picked up a nearby rock and threw it at a tree, scaring a few birds off the branches. She plopped herself down at the ground and placed her face in her hand. She was sick and tired of being thought of second and not being allowed to experience her own happiness.

As Estella's time at Hogwarts was becoming longer, the first year couldn't help but miss home a little bit. At first it felt like a holiday - just a short time away where she could enjoy herself and come back in no time feeling refreshed. But instead it was so much more than that. She saw her family over the Christmas break, but it had been a few months since then and Estella couldn't help but wonder whether or not she would make it a whole seven years on her own. Her half-sister would join her in a few years but she knew it would still feel like she was on her own. However, Estella didn't want to think about that anymore and thought she should instead take up her free time to do other things, such as explore Hogwarts and become a bit more familiar with it.

Estella found herself out in the grounds this time, making sure to stay as far away from the forbidden forest as she could. She heard some people went in there and got into big trouble, and Estella didn't want that to happen to her. Instead, she wandered down past the Lakefront and headed towards quite a large rock that seemed to have some sort of significance to it. As she neared it, she noticed a classmate was there and watched as she defiled it before sitting down and burying her head in her hands. Estella felt slightly disgusted that someone would do that, especially since it was clearly a memorial for someone who was from the school and had died, and she wanted to turn around and go back, however before she could bring herself to do that, she found herself standing in front of the girl. "Um... are you... okay?" she asked tentatively, not really knowing what to say. She wondered if perhaps this girl knew the person whose memorial it was.

Seraphina looked up as a familiar girl approached her. She remembered her face from classes but didn't know her name. She crossed her arms and leaned her back against the rock she had just placed her mark on. "Not really," she mumbled as she kicked around some dirt with toe. It took her a moment to realize that she would probably get in trouble for the rock art above her and pushed herself off the ground, dusting off some of the dirt. "What's it matter to you, anyway?" she asked girl as she pulled out her wand and looked at the birds who had made their way back to the same tree they had previously resided in.
