Kayce walked alongside Obsidian Harbour next to her father, Mason Davies. She had different expectations when she moved to live with her dad and it didn't include getting dragged along frequently on errands, especially ones she couldn't even participate in. Mason made her wait outside or would leave her somewhere else while he attended to 'business'. Today was unlikely any different. She looked up at St. Mungo's as they approached the building, wrinkling her brow in confusion. Is dad sick? Her father turned to her and began to speak.

"I've got to go see somebody that's here at St. Mungo's for business. You can wait out here or in the lobby, but I am afraid I have to go on this visit alone, Ce." Mason said to his daughter before giving her a pat on the shoulder and entering the wizarding hospital.

Unsurprised by her choices, Kayce opted to stay outside by the harbor instead of a waiting room potentially full of sick people. She didn't even know exactly what it was her father did, he always evaded her questions. Kayce rolled her eyes and wandered towards fencing overlooking the water. The water seemed unsettled today and she watched it in a trance, not noticing the cold drop of rain that fell onto her back.

Thalia, for a change, had been given permission to explore Obsidian Harbour by herself - without her twin, or her legal guardian, or cousins of any sort. She had complete freedom, and in some way she was relieved, because it meant she could just do whatever she wanted and go wherever she pleased. But at the same time, Thalia was afraid she would do something wrong or take a wrong turn and she would get lost. No, you have to be strong, she chided herself, glancing at which way to go now. It was rare enough that she was alone, seeing as others constantly worried about her wellbeing (which annoyed the girl to no end). So she had to get over herself and decide exactly what she should do now.

Thalia entered an ice cream shop and it wasn’t long before her ice cream was served to her. Thalia beamed at the assistant behind the counter and licked her ice cream contentedly, enjoying the coolness of it due to the summer heat. When she was finished, she threw away the tissue and a movement caught her eye. No, it was a person! A girl around her age. Thalia went over to her and gave the girl a shy smile. It was an opportunity to make a friend. Who knew, maybe this girl would also be going to Hogwarts. "Hi," she greeted with a small smile.

Kayce's gaze on the ocean was like a trance to her thoughts. She watched as they pulled one direction and pushed back the other way. A voice interrupted her thoughts and Kayce turned to see a girl close to her age standing nearby. She looked at the girl up and down, trying to get a read on her. "Helo," Kayce responded, her voice hinting at her welsh accent. Unsure what the girl wanted, she tossed a piece of her hair from her face and folded her arms. "Did you need something?" Kayce asked with a smile that looked as fake on her lips as it felt when it formed. She didn't want to scare the girl off yet.
