Sydney, Australia. October.

It had been a long time since Cameron had been out on the town, more then a few years at least. It had also only been six months since his break up with Austiin and he had moved back home to Australia since then. Mostly to see his sick mother, who was coming to the end of her life, but also because he just couldn't stay in the country anymore, knowing what he did. Abbigale had been fairly concerned when he had up and left like that, taking Mai-Ling with him, but then again, she was his child, he had every right to take her where ever he wanted too. She was a sweet girl and whilst she no longer suffered her terrible nightmares, she still needed her daddy, which was of course him. Still, she missed her siblings, though now that Cameron and Austiin were broken up, they were no longer attached. Yet Cameron couldn't help but to think of those kids as his own. Clara, Ruben, Leander, Keye, Ellie, Imogen, Svetlana, even Tommy, with whom he had a very interesting relationship. He had been there from day one with them, he had mostly raised them, not Austiin, but the universe didn't see it that way, the universe kept hurting him, so as far as he was concerned, the universe could go and get f*cked. In fact, Cameron would rather have preferred it that way. He had tried, so bloody hard to make that relationship work, but it apparently wasn't going both ways. Austiin was a toxic person and being with him was making Cameron's life toxic, and yet Cameron had stayed, for ten long years. He wasn't sure what had made him stay, there was just something about Austiin. Those couple of times he had left, Austiin had only reeled him back in. Well, f*ck him.

Stepping into a bar that he had once worked in, Cameron pulled his coat up around his neck. It was an unusually cold night, considering that it was now Spring. Cameron hated the cold, it made him miss Austiin, well, it made him remember him. All those times that Cameron would curl up on the lounge in front of the fire and Austiin would bring him a coffee, that rare instance where Austiin would be too lazy to care when Cameron curled up into a ball next to him, that one time that Austiin had curled up by the fire just as he had, those were the times that had made him return. Cameron shook his head to rid himself of those thoughts and continued up to the bar. He wasn't with that man now, he had hurt him so badly, that Cameron didn't think he could ever go back there if something didn't change, though honestly, he wasn't even sure he would ever be able to trust Austiin again. Not after this. Cameron was surprised to find that his old boss still owned the bar. He had worked here nearly twelve years ago, so it was definitely a surprise. He smiled at the older man and shook his hand. "Gazza, Mate, it's good to see ya." Cameron clapped his friend on the back and recieved a clip around the shoulder in return. "Is that you Cameron, Man, you look like poop, mate." Cameron didn't have a reply for that so instead he just sat himself at the bar. "Alotta stuffs happened since i last saw you, lemme tell ya." Gary nodded and immediately went about making a drink. "Get this into ya, you'll be right as rain afterwards." Cameron smiled in thanks and quickly downed the drink. He immediately pinpointed it as a vodka and tonic, stronger on the vodka then most would make it. To be honest, Cameron felt no different, but he wasn't going to tell Gary that, they didn't have that close a relationship.
