and with a final round of applause and cheer, the ceremony was over. The air, which had up until then been fairly calm or with just the turbulence of applause, suddenly became agitated with the sounds of chairs moving along the floor and people and the voices of a hall full of people overlapping each other as they spoke, like colours in a modern art painting.
It had been a good ceremony but it was even better now it was over, Ngawaiata had graduated. She could spend time with her girlfriend, like properly spending time. Not just time between classes and homework like it had been initially, or the frew short times this year over the Christmas break and snatches during brightstone weekends. Sky got up from her seat amongst the other guests and edged her way out of the row. There were a lot of people around, all looking for each other, but Sky edged her way forward to where Ngawaiata had been sitting, trying not to let the Lillies she was holding get crushed and also trying not to drop anything.
eventually, after what felt like ages but was in reality only a few minutes, if that, she managed to find her. she hurried forward. "Congratulations, Ngawaiata", she said, putting the collection of gifts she had down on a chair before wrapping her arms around her girlfriend and holding her in a tight embrace.

The second the slog of the ceremony was over, Ngawaiata made a beeline for where she had seen Sky sitting. She was done with school, and the sooner she could start her real life with her partner, the better. She met Sky halfway and met her with a fierce hug, holding her tightly. "Thanks." She said with a small laugh before pulling back just enough to kiss Sky deeply and thoroughly. She had never been a fan of PDA, but right now she couldn't bring herself to care in the slightest. "Ready to get out of here?"

Sky had missed ngawaiatas hugs. she held onto her girlfriend tight as she hugged her before nga pulled away slightly. she was slightly supprised as her girlfriend kissed her. not by the kiss but by the kind of kiss. it was defiantly more the kiss they shared in private not in public as Nga, well both of them, were not huge fans of such forms of PDA. she was not complaining as she returned the kiss with the same ferocity as nga took her breath away and every one else in the room disappeared.
as the kiss broke off she smiled gently against Ngawaiatas skin. "I Love you, and have missed you so much" she whispered. as she was asked if she was ready to leave she smiled."almost. i do still need to give you your graduation gift" she said picking up the small stash of gifts. She handed her the flowers and the bag of lolloes. "this will be the last weekly lolly supply" she said, she ad that week handed her notice in at honeydukes. and only had the next week left before she finished. "and this is a russelue, part of a Norwegian high school graduation tradition" she said. her dad had got her the hat and overalls for her graduation been though it was odd to wear in new Zealand. watching students russ had been a part of her childhood.
