Full Name:
Elizabeth Harel. I've never had a middle name. Just my first name, and my surname. Nice and simple. Harel comes from Hebrew, my grandparents on my dad's side were Hebrew.

Date of Birth:
23.08.2012

Current Age:
11

Basic Appearance:
Elizabeth is small, only 4"9'. She doesn't grow fast, and it irritates her sometimes. She is skinny, with bright red hair that is slightly curly. It is quite long, halfway down her back, and falls usually in large slightly untidy ringlets, except for when it is raining when it frizzes awfully. She has bluey-green eyes, and has decided they could never decide if they want to be blue or green since they seem to change slightly every day.

Personality:
Elizabeth is quiet but deep. She likes to be the observer in a conversation, rather than the person leading it. She is quite imaginative and creative, reflected by what she enjoys doing in her spare time. She has very little self confidance and a bad self image of herself, which she cannot seem to get out of, no matter how positive she tries to be.

Family: Elizabeth has a very large family. She has 4 elder brothers and 2 younger brothers. She sometimes feels the odd one out, a girl in a giant group of boys. Her mother and father are caring and loving, but they are not the richest of families. She thankfully does not have to share a room with her siblings because she is the only girl. Her Father is an economist who has decided to work with muggles. He lectures at the University of Otago. When his students ask him how he got his powerpoint so amazing, he just replies, "Oh - a little magic". Her Mother is a healer, who works at St. Mungo's in London, UK, and apparates back home each evening. She gets very tired.

Pets:
Elizabeth has no pets, as her father is allergic to most types of furs, for which they have not yet devised a spell that would allow him to tolerate this allergy. Her Mother is working on a spell that would help him to tolerate this, but she has not found one yet. Elizabeth would love to have a cat however, and she would like to train it to ride on her broomstick like many muggle books concerning witches seem to portray.

Area of Residence:
Elizabeth lives in Dunedin during the holidays when she is not at Hogwarts NZ. Her family live in a magically enlarged house hidden in the bush and forests in the Peninsula.

Blood Status:
Mixed Blood

Heritage:
Her Father was decended from a line of Hebrews, and her mother was English. They emigrated to New Zealand when their eldest son, John, was accepted to Hogwarts NZ, which is where all the children up to Elizabeth have attended until now.

Interests or Hobbies:
She enjoys being creative, playing the piano, and learning the muggle way, rather than magically enhancing herself to be able to play the piano skillfully. She enjoys taking photos and she is learning how to make them move when using the right solution currently. She enjoys flying on her broomstick, and playing the odd games of muggle netball or lacrosse. A lot of the time, she just disappears into her own world and imagines the day away.

Additional Skills:
Elizabeth can speak fluent french and play the piano, though she always gets nervous when playing infront of people. She enjoys dancing too, a muggle friend taught her how to dance 'ceroc'.

Strengths: Caring for people, compassion. She is good at giving advice, and once she has a friend she can trust, she will be completely open with them, very deep with them and will be the best friend to them that she can be. She is quite intelligent, though she does not think she is.

Weaknesses: Being hurt easily, and still caring about someone a little too much. Having no self confidance or a good self image. Wishing she could be better than what she is, and not necessarily focusing on things she is good at.

Describe your character in three words: Shy, Deep, Vunerable

Favourite place to be: The Botanical Gardens in Dunedin

Friends: She has plenty of muggle friends, but hasn't made any at Hogwarts yet.

Hogwarts House: Unsorted but she would like to be in Ravenclaw like her mother was.

Hogwarts Hopes and Ambitions: She wants to do really well through the year, getting good grades to live up to her place in Ravenclaw if she is sorted into it. She also wants to prove she is intelligent enough to her parents, so she feels slightly less overshadowed by her elder brothers. She wants to make friends with people at Hogwarts NZ, and have a good fun year.

Best school subjects: She isn't too sure of what she is good and bad at yet as she has only been taught bits and bobs of magic by her parents and elder brothers. She tends to like charms and transfiguration, and even sometimes potions.

Worst school subjects: She doesn't really know what she doesn't enjoy yet, but she doesn't like muggle maths which her father tried to teach her.

Extracurricular Activities: She enjoys playing the piano and singing.

Plans for your future: She just want to get through school as painlessly as possible with good grades so she doesn't feel too overshadowed by her brothers.

Your Patronus: She's never tried casting a patronus before.

Your Patronus memory: She's never tried casting one, but she thinks it might be the time when she got her wand for her 11th birthday, it was a fabulous day spent in Diagon Alley, with really yummy ice cream sundaes from Florean Fortescue.

Your Boggart: Being alone, with no one to help her, care for her, love her.

Mirror of Erised: To have brilliant sets of OWL's and NEWT's so she looks even better than her brothers and can live up to her Mother's academic record along with having a kind, caring, loving, deep, intelligent boyfriend.

Hey Elizabeth, I just have a few questions for your character development. :)

- How come Elizabeth feels overshadowed by her brothers?

- Has Elizabeth ever tried potions before, since she thinks it will be one of her favourite subjects?

- Why would Elizabeth's mother go to work in England if she lives in New Zealand?

- How does Elizabeth get along with her brothers? Do they every play rough with her, or are over protective of her?

-Why did her father decide to work with muggles?

(Hey Zoe, I hope Elizabeth can answer some of your questions)

Elizabeth is overshadowed by her brothers because they have done so well at school. They have really excelled in the areas they are good at, and even her younger brothers seem to have more of a knack for magic than she does. (They managed to learn lumos in a few days, wheras it took her 2 weeks.) She is under a lot of pressure from her mother to perform well and even to outshine her brothers, but she feels that is impossible, when her eldest brothers have walked away from Hogwarts with outstanding NEWTs, and even her brothers who are just a little older than herself are in the top people of her year. She feels if she doesn't perform as well as them, her mother will be severely disappointed in her.

Elizabeth hasn't tried potions, but she had a chemistry set bought for her for her 8th birthday, which she enjoys tremendously, and thinks this will be what potions is like. She heard from her brothers that they use all sorts of interesting ingrediants, but nothing like Sulphur or Limewater or Magnesium, so she is a little scared that it won't be what she thought it would be like.

Elizabeth's Mum has always worked at St Mungo's since graduating from Hogwarts in the UK. She met Elizabeth's father, who wanted to emigrate to New Zealand, but she didn't want to leave working at St Mungo's (she works on the permanant spell damages wards, and she is rather attached to some of the patients). Therefore, they worked out a deal, allowing her to live in New Zealand and work in the UK, apparating there and back. Her mother gets very tired from the stress of it all however.

Elizabeth tends to get on with her elder brothers quite well, except the eldest, John. She thinks that he can't find anything he likes about her, and just wants to embarrass her, especially when she finds something hard to learn (including muggle maths, since John is somehow especially good at this subject, even when it is not taught in the magic schools!). She finds her younger brothers irritating, they make too many loud noises for her, and they always seem to be better than her. She seems the odd one out. The brother she is closest to is Elgar. He is her 2nd eldest brother. He is rather protective of her, and always backs her up when there is a fight amongst them. He used to read her bedtime stories when she was little (muggle ones and magical ones, though the muggle ones tend to make him laugh. He thinks it's rather funny that Cinderella's pumpkin is turned into a coach by a 'fairy Godmother'. He doesn't think they even exist, which was a blow for Elizabeth. She really wanted one!).

Her father decided to work with muggles because he didn't get very good grades from his NEWTs like he hoped to. He doesn't mind now though, he enjoys teaching the muggles. He always liked muggle subjects and wished they taught some of them at Hogwarts. He would have definately taken them.
