Brett hurried down to the kitchens of Durmstrang. He had gotten distracted, now he had a Acceptable on a essay that would be a huge part of his grade! He had done the essay for Herbology on Mandrakes. Instead of finishing it a week before it was due he did the assignment the night before it was due. Lately he had been practicing some basketball tricks, and it took up most of his homework time. An Acceptable to some students is lucky because it was done the night before. To Brett is was unacceptable. When he reached the kitchen he was surrounded by house elves. "Is there something you need young master?" one asked bowing. House elves were fairly new to Brett, so adjusting to the name 'master' was strange for him. "Uh, can I have some cookies, please?" he asked politely. Then the house elves scattered around to get him what he had asked for. One elf had him sit in a chair at a table. "Here you go Master." another elf said and sat a huge plate of varieties of cookies on the table. I told the elf thank you, and took a cookie. They were warm. Just before he was getting ready to take a bite the kitchen door opened and a stranger walked in.

And once again Collin failed to find any secret clue whatsoever inside the castle. It was no use really. Maybe Michael was exaggerating when he told Collin the castle's full of hidden and secret clues that is eventually leading into something very nice and very breath-taking. Oh, well, Collin thought as he walk his way towards the Durmstrang Kitchens. At least I've met Victoria, he kept on telling himself as he walked corridor to corridor. Collin, though, can't wait to transfer into Hogwarts. His dad told him lots and lots of stories about Hogwarts being very big and having really cool structure and lots of hidden passageways leading into sophisticated missions and whatnot. Even though the "Hogwarts" his dad is referring is the "Hogwarts Scotland" and not "Hogwarts New Zealand" where he's transferring. Collin feels a bit down really. Not like he hates Durmstrang and all. It's just that he feel like he doesn't belong in the place. But sometimes when he feels down, he'll just tell himself that he made the best choice and that going to Durmstrang instead in the Muggle day school is better. He doesn't really want to be stuck in a school were all the people around him are bullies but if not hates him. Oh sure, Collin could buy them with him being the son of a rich businessman and all but Collin doesn't really makes a huge fuss about it, not like his younger sister who always brags when she gets new things.

Collin finally reached the door of the Kitchens. He ran a hand in his hair first before entering since it was covering most of his face. He open the door and entered it. He saw a familiar looking boy staring at him deeply while munching on an oven-fresh cookie. Collin just nodded at him and walked towards a group of house elves. "Anything yummy to eat here guys?" He asked one of the elves. "We have lots of food here Master." The elf replied pointing at the table piled with enormous plates and full with variety of food. "Please choose the one you fancy most" The elf continued. Collin, then nodded and went towards the table. He looked at the food carefully to observe their appearances. The pumpkin pie looked extremely appealing to him so he snatched a slice and went towards the direction of the familiar looking guy. He took a seat on the small bench near him and sat. "You look a bit down, man? Any problem with the food?" He asked, taking a bite of the fresh pumpkin pie.

Brett watched the other boy closely as he talked to the house elves, and then got a piece of pumpkin pie. The boy took a seat on a small bench near him. The boy did look familiar. It was probably from classes or something. "No, not the cookies. The cookies are great. I got a bad grade on an essay. I'm really mad about it." he told the boy. Brett was so angry with himself. If only he hadn't been distracted he could have gotten a better grade. He stuffed another cookie in his mouth and asked for a glass of milk. He ate when he was nervous, angry, excited, and he even ate when he just needed something for his mouth to do. It was stress eating, and Brett balanced out the time he spent eating and the time he spent exercising because he knows this is a bad habit of his. "I am Brett Mercy." Brett introduced himself.

Collin listened carefully as he took his first bite of the pie. He took a bite while listening to the other guy speak about the reason why he looked very down. Damn, the pumpkin tastes extremely divine. Collin practically choke on his own spit when he took a bite. "You should try one of these, man." He suggested, pointing at the pie in his hand. "This tastes really good!" He went on, still admiring the pie. He stopped eating to listen at the boy while he explained his story. After explaining so, Collin just looked at him, his eyes wide. "You must be a huge bookworm, aren't you?" He asked, his face all disgusted. Sure, Collin likes reading, but not that much. He only reads comic books and anything that involves superheroes. But, he reads totally thick books if he has too like the books about the History of Magic. Collin finished his mouthful of juice and gave himself another. Damn, pumpkin rocks, he thought. he look at the boy as he asked for a glass of milk. Since he hasn't drank it yet, Collin offered the pumpkin juice. "Wait bro. Try this first. I'm sure it'll rock your socks off" He suggested, as he grabbed another glass and poured juice in it until it was full. "Try it" He said, giving the glass to the boy. "Nice to meet you Brett. The name's Collin Cambridge. You can call me Cole if you want" He said, putting the glass down as he reached his hand for the Brett to shake.

Brett looked at the boy eat his pumpkin pie. He looked like he was enjoying himself. Brett shook his head when the boy said he should try some. "No thank you. I prefer cookies." he rejected his suggestion kindly. Brett agreed when the boy said he was a bookworm. He read quite often, but it was only for school purposes. Other than studying he would practice some basketball or snack on something. He stuffed another cookie in his mouth. "Mostly only to study, but other than that I play basketball." he told Collin after he swallowed. He told the elf not to get him the milk anymore. The boy offered him a glass of pumpkin juice. Cookies without a liquid to Brett was like a river without the water. It was weird. He accepted the juice and gulped down the juice until the glass was empty. The juice was cold and refreshing. The boy had introduced himself as Collin. "Whoa. That stuff is good bro. Can I have another glass?" he asked and held out his glass for Collin to pour him more or hand him the pitcher. "Do you come to the kitchens often?" Brett asked, trying to make conversation.

Collin's shoulder suddenly jerked when the boy declined his offer. Hardly no one ever rejects Collin's commands or even suggestions as a matter of fact. Except for his little sister maybe. Cole remained silent for a few seconds before letting the matter go. "Well, whatever you say, bro" He said, with a shrug as he took another bite of the pie. Cole shrugged once more when Brett agreed with him about Brett being a bookworm. He nodded as Brett said his story. "Basketball is a nice game. Although I'm not really an expert when it comes to playing it live. Might wanna teach me sometime? Well, that is if you have some free time left since as what you've said, you study and I'm betting much", He remarked. He isn't really an avid basketball fan. Collin is more of a chess person. He's an expert when it comes to the sport. He's been playing the sport since he was four. Cole observed silently as Brett gulped down the pumpkin juice. He was looking at him closely as if expecting him to burst out thanking him how nice the juice was. And indeed he was right. Brett asked for another right away. "Told ya" Cole replied hesitantly as if he gave him a huge opportunity just by drinking a juice. Cole poured the pumpkin juice carefully as Brett held out the glass for another drink. "Yep. My favorite place. I'm getting awfully skinny as you see and I think going to a place where there is full of such fine delicacy is the best place" He explained as he poured the drink. After pouring Brett's drink, he reached out his hand to grab his glass and started pouring juice in it. After doing so, he drank all the juice down as he laid the glass at the table and sighed. "That was the best refreshment I've ever tasted my whole life" He said. This was absolutely true. For a rich man's son, people mostly expect them to already tried put every thing. Above all the refreshments and delicacies, the pie and the juice was somehow the most inspiring food Collin has ever tasted.

Collin looked very surprised when Brett rejected his offer. He hoped the rejection wasn't too hard for Collin. But he had quickly recovered, and he looked as if he wanted to drop the topic. Dropped. "When I do have some time is the correct expression. Studying takes up a majority of my time, so if the lessons are No more than ten minutes long don't hate me." he smiled as Collin poured him another glass. Collin was skinny, but he wasn't very tall either. Brett was sure they both had yet to go through puberty. The thought made him shiver. "Do you plan on transferring? You seem very confident that you are going to get in. It is very hard to transfer from one school to another. I hear that you have to take an exam, and that it is really hard." Brett said. He did not want Collin to get his hopes up for nothing. The possibility of getting out of Durmstrang was very slim.

Cole took another sip of the juice. It was damn good and every time Collin takes a sip, he feels like he's drinking in a five star restaurant. Yes, he's been to lots of five stars restaurants due to his family's financial status which is very high. As a matter of fact, Collin's parents are one of the richest people in their city back in France. Collin doesn't care though. For him, life is just another piano piece he needs to learn to make his father proud. "That's fine by me. If you don't have enough time it's okay. I guess, study comes first." Collin drowsily said. It's not like he was getting bored or anything but well, he is getting bored since anything about school bores him. Studying? Nah not his type. "Do you play any instruments, Brett?" He asked all anxiously. Collin observed as Brett shivered. "Is the juice really cold or something?" He asked, giving Brett a confused look. "How'd you know I plan on transferring?" He asked all anxiously again. "But yeah. I heard it's very hard but I'm studying very hard for this one. I mean Hogwarts is an amazing school and all and I'm really hoping to be one of it's students". He said, with proud and excitement clogging his voice.

Brett thought about Collin's question about instruments. His father had a drum set at home from when he used to play drums back when he attended school. "No, but my father has a drum set at home. I am trying to convince him to give me lessons." he told Collin. Collin had been looking at him strangely after he had shivered. Brett gave a nervous smile. "No. Just thinking about a conversation me and my dad had once." he hoped that Collin would not ask him for any details. He did not want to forever scar Collin. Brett shrugged. "I don't know if you are planning on transferring. That is why I asked." he said and drank some of his pumpkin juice, and set it on the table. He took another bite of his cookie while Collin talked about how he was studying hard to get in. He smiled. "I could help you study if you want. You'd probably have a higher possibility of getting in." he said and started picking at his nails. Collin did not look like he liked to study. His definition of 'studying hard' could be totally different from Brett's.

Collin doesn't really like piano that much. His father forced him to play it, that's why. His father loves piano and is very good when playing it and he wants Collin to love it and be an expert on it also. Cole prefers guitar though. He hadn't really told his father about it since he's keeping it a secret. "Drum's cool." Cole complimented. He doesn't know how to play drums but he'd like to. Maybe someday? Cole always wants to try new things. Cole looked at Brett looking unconvinced. It was like there's something about Brett's facial expression that made Collin thinks he's lying. Brett's face was covered with disgust and nervousness when he shivered but now it is covered with nervousness alone. Collin raised an eyebrow as if he's trying to analyze Brett's expression. In fact, he is analyzing it. Later on, with a few more observations, Cole finally realized what Brett was so disgusted about. "It's puberty isn't it?" He asked all miserably. Puberty is the kind of thing Collin really hates talking about. Every time he thinks about it, all he ever want to do is throw up. "Well, you've said I look pretty confident that I'm going to get in so I just assumed you know." He muttered, shrugging. Collin finished his mouthful of pie and stood up to get another piece. After taking one, he went back into the bench and started eating once more. "That'll be nice. How 'bout you? Where are you going next year?" He asked all anxiously again.

Brett was taken aback when Collin guessed right. "Unfortunately yes. Those conversations are the worst to have with your parents." he said and moved his bangs to the side. Brett's father insisted that they talk about it because while attending Durmstrang he wouldn't get educated about it. Brett was forever scarred because of those talks with his father. "My father wants me to transfer from here to the school in New Zealand. He got a job offer there, so it is most likely we are going to move to New Zealand." he explained to Collin. Brett drank some of his pumpkin juice and then stuffed a cookie into his mouth.

A frown curled up to the sides of Collin's mouth when Brett told him he guessed right. Even though he was right, he was still furious about it. "Absolutely. Let's not talk about it okay" He said, his face was covered with disgust. Collin lives in France and is quite wealthy so no moving to New Zealand will occur for him. He's already loving the school he'll transfer next even though he hasn't been there before. He has seen pictures, yes but actually been there? Nuh uh. "New Zealand? That's where the school I'll be transferring next semester is located. Is your school, by any chance, called Hogwarts New Zealand?" He asked, looking extremely excited. He was happy because of the fact that he'll know at least one person there. He has to make friends, sure but it's still feels good when you have someone that actually know you. Well, Jessica will be there obviously but she's sullen and immature, Collin thought.

Brett nodded in agreement. He did not want anymore scars. Collin asked him if the school he was transferring to was Hogwarts New Zealand. He moved his bangs to the side. "Yes, it is. You plan on going there too?" Brett asked. He was not that afraid of not making friends, but if Collin were to get into Hogwarts New Zealand he wouldn't have to worry about make totally new friends. Collin looked extremely excited. "Whoa. Funny how we meet up here, right?" he smiled and moved his bangs out the way once again.

Collin was glad Brett agreed with him. He did not want anymore disgusting conversations like puberty for example. Collin's eyes bulged when Brett told him it's HNZ he's transferring. "That's awesome, man. I mean it would be very cool that we know each other when we transfer there" He said, giving him an excited look. Collin was happy because he was sure he'll know at least a person in there. "And we could even be on the same house. Though I doubt that since you're a lot smarter than me you'd be in Ravenclaw for sure". He went on. "Yes. It's a total coincidence." Collin agreed while watching Brett as he moved his bangs once more. Collin's bangs are totally calm and doesn't do anything.

"You seem like a Gryffindor to me, but the sorting hat may think differently." Brett wanted to get into Ravenclaw, but it was not his decision. The sorting hat probably knew him much better than he knew himself. If he did not like the house he was sorted into he would just have to deal with it. He did not want to get sorted into a house that did not nurture his talents, but the sorting hat would probably already know that. Brett still had to think about the bad side. If he got rejected he would have to stay at Durmstrang and his father would have to reject the job offer. He did not want that to happen. He was going to try his hardest to get into to Hogwarts New Zealand. For his dad. "There will be tons of people there. I am really excited." Brett told Collin. "Do you have any siblings there?"

Collin brightened up when Brett told him that he seemed like Gryffindor to him. He always wanted to be in Gryffindor since he was always fascinated about Harry potter. "That's cool. Though I hope I'd be in Gryffindor." He said, happily. Collin's mother had told him that he had the qualities of being a Gryffindor. His baby sister, Jessica had confirmed that he'd be in Gryffindor. She has already told him that he doesn't have the brains for Ravenclaw and he doesn't have the ambitiousness as most Slytherins are and he clearly isn't fair like Hufflepuffs are since she said Collin only challenged her in a Tetris one on one and Collin eventually won which made Jess ranked down and lose most of her stars.Collin shrugged at the thought of this. Collin perked up on the bench when Brett mentioned the word siblings. It has been a total coincidence of him thinking about Jessica when Brett asked him the question. "Yes. My little sister, Jessica will be starting her freshman year there" He murmured.
