Desi was ambling around the grounds without much purpose. His parents had told him to focus in school this year, telling him just how important his grades would be for his future. Even his dad had visited him to talk to him about school. Desislav was almost relieved to get back to the school, get back to his search for the mystery room, his experiments with charms. The stuff that really mattered to him.

Right now, he was just looking for a cure for his boredom. And as he continued on, he thought he might have just spotted it. Moving more quietly now, Desi hoped he could reach Finn without him noticing.

Finn was feeling excited. His heart was pumping as he continued to fill the balloons, a large smile on his face. He had spent most of his holidays thinking up pranks and testing them on his younger siblings, much to their dismay. For the beginning of the year, he wanted to start off small and simple, it was the easiest prank, it just took a little bit of planning. He was half way through though! Finn was bent over, his fake moustache stuck on so that no one could recognize him. He was humming to himself, filling the balloons with different colored paint as much as he could, ready for a kaleidoscope of color , an explosion of rainbows. Finn couldn't wait.

As he got closer, Desi realized what Finn was doing. A stupid grin appeared on his face. Forgetting his plan to scare the guy, he moved forward with newfound purpose. Standing casually behind the guy, Desi stuffed his hands in his pocket. "I want in" Desi murmured to the hunched over guy. "Besides, you need help. Like a bucket or something to hide those until you need them. Otherwise, people are gonna know what you're up to" he added, pleading his case.

Finn turned at the voice, and his face lit up when he saw Desislav. "Perfect. But first, you need one of these." Finn replied, happy to have Des's help. He pulled over his bag and accio-d out the pack of fake mustaches, before handing it over for Des to choose one. Finn himself had a 'Fu Manchu' 'stache, which made him feel way cooler than he actually looked. Once his friend had chosen a mustache, Finn turned to him, cracking up at his choice. "You look ridiculous!" Finn hooted with laughter. He had almost finished filling the balloons with paint, so he quickly finished, mixing the last one with a bunch of colors, it would be so cool if that one splashed as a rainbow. Finn turned to his friend. "I was thinking we could levitate them above some groups of people and then just let go all at once." He grinned.

Desi hadn’t noticed it before, but he couldn’t miss the moustache that Finn was sporting now that the guy had turned to face him. He busted out laughing, thinking that the moustaches were a great touch. Reaching out eagerly for the pack, Desislav sifted through until he found a perfect one- a handlebar moustache. Slapping it onto his face, Desi was ready and joined his friend’s laughter. “Not as ridiculous as you” he laughed.

Listening as he bent down near the balloons, Desi nodded his head at the plan. “Perfect plan, Finn. Save that one” he pointed at the rainbow one, “for last. That’s the grand finale.” Desi could see it now. This was going to be great. Now, they just needed some victims and looking around the lawn, there were so many to choose from. The big question was who to target first. “After you” he stated, giving his friend an exaggerated bow, which from his position already kneeling on the grass meant that his head touched the grass. When he came up, there were a few ants in his moustache. He brushed them away quickly.

Nodding his head, Finn grinned, setting aside the massive rainbow balloon. A thought occurred to him - it would be amazing if they could pop it in the air, sending rainbows down on everyone. He sniggered, as he took out his wand, casting 'Wingardium Leviosa' on a few, and sent them up into the air, before settling over a group of students. With a snort as Desislav bowed, he dropped the balloons and watched with glee as the big balloons fell from the sky and landed on and around the students below. A colorful catastrophe. Finn let out a roar of laughter, nudging Des. "Your turn!" He said excitedly, getting his next few ready so he could follow in quick succession. Finn wanted to get as many people as possible before they realized where it was coming from.

Desi watched Finn, his hand over his mouth to contain his giggles as the first balloon busted, sending paint everywhere. He couldn't contain himself after a moment, but it was his turn and he knew that he had to maintain some level of composure. With his wand in his hand, Desi cast 'Wingardium Leviosa' on another balloon, sending it soaring towards another unsuspecting group in the other direction, hoping that they hadn't heard the commotion. He dropped the balloon, watching as purple paint splashed everywhere. "Yes!" he held his hand out for a high five, loving this!

A cackle of laughter came out of Finn's mouth as Desislav's balloon sprayed purple paint everywhere. He high fived him back, this was the best start to the year ever and Finn was so stoked that Des turned up and helped him. The Gryffindor had an idea, and he used 'Engorgio' on a balloon filled with Gryffindor red and gold; it was nice, they hadn't mixed together to create a yuck color, but swirling within each other. He watched as the balloon swelled in size, laughter coming from his mouth - he felt mad, he felt ecstatic. He lifted the balloon up, over a group of people, it's shadow casting over them, taking away the sun's shine. As soon as Finn dropped the levitating spell, he quickly cast 'diffindo' on the balloon, the gigantic rubber ball exploding as the Gryffindor colors rained down on the victims below.

"You're a genius!" Desislav called out to his friend as he levitated another balloon, this one filled with neon yellow paint. He spotted his targets, two girls in very frilly dresses. Mimicking his friend, he cast 'Engorgio' but instead he allowed the balloon to grow and grow until it had no more room to do so. With a loud pop, the balloon sent paint everywhere.

"WHO DID THIS?" Alana yelled as she sat in the grass entirely covered in red and yellow paint. The Slytherin wiped angrily at her face but only succeeded in putting paint in the few places there had been none. She looked around at the people around her who were also covered in paint and knew it wasn't any of them. "I am going to murder someone" she mumbled as she began to gather her things in a huff. Everything was covered, her outfit, her notebook, her quill. Everything.

Ashlei walked onto the lawn with her skateboard tucked underneath her arm. She planned on using this new spell she learned about. She planned on using it to make skating on grass a tad bit easier. She planned on it. Before she got covered in purple paint, she planned on skating. Now, her outfit and skateboard were ruined! Ashlei pulled out her wand. "Scourgify." she said and pointed her wand at herself. She then used the spell on her skateboard. The girl's face was red with anger. Who had time to pull pranks like this, and not let her in on it, at least?! Suddenly, it began to get dark. Ashlei's instincts kicked in and she started to run in the opposite direction, barely saving herself from getting splattered with too much paint. She found shelter under a tree with a few other students. Where were authority figures when they were needed?

It had been a while since Rudolf and Reuben had been out on the lawn to play, but what with their current free time, it was too good an opportunity to miss. Rudolf didn't even moan about not being able to study; he'd done so much of that last year he'd completely worn himself out. And he'd only got an EE in Defence Against the Dark Arts. He wasn't sure why, because he'd tried his absolute very best, and a little bit of sunshine and games seemed like the perfect way to take his mind off the disappointment for a while.

"JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED," the young Gryffindor yelled at his twin, who was pretending to be a dark wizard whilst Rudolf played the Auror. But no sooner than he had lifted his stick (they didn't trust each other to wave real wands around) than a large shadow from nowhere cast over the grass he stood on. Weird! Shielding his eyes, Rudolf stopped his game to look up for the source of the obstruction of sunlight. "AAAAHHH," he yelled, his voice cracking. "EVERYBODY RUN FOR YOUR-" It was too late. Red and gold paint came cascading down from the sky like a great Gryffindorian waterfall. Rudolf looked down just in time for the stuff not to hit him straight in the eyes, but the rest of him was absolutely covered.

Reuben couldn't remember the last time he'd been this happy. He was outside in the sunshine, playing make believe games with Rudolf. What more could he have asked for? Well, for it to last. Reuben anticipated that the moment classes began again, his twin would return to his usual ways, wanting as little to do with anyone and anything except books as he possibly could. Then again, he'd even spent his free time studying last year, so perhaps Reuben was wrong.

"NEVER!" he shouted back, waving his stick around his head in the way he thought professional dark wizards did. Really, he looked like he was trying to lasso Rudolf rather than curse him. When he yelled suddenly, Reuben's jaw dropped. "DUDE DID YOU HEAR THAT? YOUR VOICE TOTALLY JUST CR-" Half way through this exclamation, Reuben had looked up. "MERLIN'S DUSTY-" With that, the gigantic balloon popped, showering the boys and everyone around them in colourful paint. Reuben stood rooted to the spot, dripping arms held out at his sides. He couldn't even see what Rudolf looked like to laugh at his expense, because his eyelids were covered in the stuff and he didn't dare open them. "Aw, man."

The beginning of the year could not have started sweeter. The sun was shining, and Kayleigh was having a picnic with her boyfriend. It was the cutest thing ever, and Kayleigh could not stop smiling. Her hair was back to normal, her dad wouldn't allow her to keep the pink, which wasn't the end of the world for Kayleigh. She liked her blonde hair just fine, though dying it pink was definitely worth it for Orwell. Though there were a lot of students out and about, Kayleigh was in her own world with Orwell, well, she was, until she felt a splatter on her head, her clothes, her mouth wide open with shock as she saw their picnic blanket, and Orwell. Kayleigh had no idea what color her hair was now, but she spun around, her eyes immediately landing on the twin boys who always seemed to be causing trouble. They too, were covered in paint, but logic did not make sense right now. "Are you two insane?!" Kayleigh called out, not sure if she was feeling angry or amused. She was sure she'd asked them that before as well.

Oh, this was going much better than expected. There was squeals, and screams and shouts, and cackling, the latter coming from Finn and Desislav. It was beautiful! The best prank ever! It gave him energy to keep going, ideas for more and more pranks as the year went on. He picked up another balloon, and sent it over after using engorgio again, spraying more paint especially over the girl he had seen using scourgify to clean herself. That would not do, so she was a clear target. The more shouts and screams, the beautiful-er the music.

Orwell had to admit there were some good ways to start the semester and though his first thought was always his garden, he had taken out some of that time and was instead spending it with Kayleigh, sitting on a picnic blanket and just enjoying both her company and just being back at school. The boy, with currently white hair, as close to blonde as he was going to go, was just so satisfied by it all. He glanced at Kayleigh and felt the smile easily grace his lips, while he had a lot to do, the start of term was always busy the king of the flowers was happy to spend time with her, with his girlfriend which was still an odd way of putting it, even to his mind, but he was happy and so was she, and that was all that mattered to him. However their nice moment, of just being together was cut a little short when all of a sudden they were drenched in what appeared to be paint and he looked at her, and then down at himself and Orwell, just took a moment to glance up and over at his gardens before just laughing, he couldn't help it, it was a mess but it was funny, and he didn't mind being covered in it. He could magically clean the clothes, it was all fine, so Orwell just laughed, he looked at Kayleigh and smiled at her, "Hey Kayleigh," he said softly, "You appear to have a spot of paint," and he motioned to her entirety before just laughing again, he wiped his hand against the paint on him and then touched her nose with his finger, getting just a tiny bit of paint there.

As the yelling and screaming began, it was music to the Gryffindor's ears. He laughed heartily along with his friend, watching as his friend Kayleigh yelled at the Lagowski twins for the balloons. He'd levitated the balloon in her direction as the date had looked too serious. Everyone needed some fun in their lives. Summoning his slingshot amid the laughter, Desi launched another Gryffindor filled balloon towards the few people not paint covered. "Bullseye!" he yelled as it hit his target.

Tholomyes was lacking inspiration, having returned to school, as now a third year, the boy was looking to do more than just his school, in his first year it had been so much about art, and his second had been about education, this time he wanted both, just not yet sure how best to achieve it. The teen was walking through the grounds hoping to god that something would strike him, an idea, a plan, what he didn't expect was to be very literally hit with something, and suddenly be covered in paint with someone yelling something as he came to a grinding halt. The boy looked at his paint covered body and then around, trying to find what had happened but just finding spots of paint on people everywhere, Theo couldn't help but admit that it was oddly interesting, seeing people so covered in paint, and though some seemed angry no one really seemed to mind. Not so much that they were trying to find the culprits, and Theo decided that this was exceedingly interesting as a concept, as an idea, something to consider. But he just took a moment as he stood outside to just look at the mess being created.

Drawn back to Orwell by his laughter, Kayleigh looked back at him, before she started laughing as well. This was why he was good for her, she realized, because usually she would have flipped out and charged after the Lagowski twins, but he made the moment seem alright, that everything was fine, funny even. Kayleigh couldn't help but laugh when Orwell told her she had a spot of paint, but flinched when he put a dot on her nose, her eyes wide and mouth open, in fake rage. "Well, Mr. Brocken, you would appear to have some - " She paused, gathering up paint in her hand. "Here - and here - and here!" She said, wiping her hand on his forehead and then cheeks before giggling.
A new fresh balloon popped right above her with another following getting some other students, and Kayleigh decided that whoever's reign of terror it was needed to be over. She looked around, carefully, before she spotted a familiar head. Of course - of course it was Desislav! Him and one of his prank-ing friends. Turning back to Orwell, she said, "I just need to go kill some people. You're welcome to join me, otherwise I'll be right back." She said, giving him a quick peck on the lips, before jumping up and sprinting in the direction of the boys. "Desislav Zhefarovich, you are dead!!" Kayleigh yelled out.

Balloons continued to pop around Alana as she continued to seethe. She kept her gaze down, trying to keep it from getting into her eyes. It wasn't until she heard her friend, Kayleigh yell that she looked up. Of course, Desislav was involved. He was so immature. Well, she'd said she was going to kill someone as well so she dropped her things and gave chase as well. She didn't even see him around at first and then she spotted him and his stupid friend, Finn, wearing dumb moustaches. "Jerks!"she yelled out.

Trying desperately to find wifi, Tesla had left the castle and settled for the grounds hoping that perhaps the source was nearer the greenhouses and that they were just needing a little tenderness to make the wifi work once more. She had expected to be able to video chat with her parents telling them all about her new house. However, she'd been unable to find anything remotely helpful and decided to walk back up to the castle. Perhaps if she asked a professor or an older student they would be willing to tell her how to log on to it. With her thoughts interrupted, Tesla was hit by something. She screamed in fright before she realized just what it was that had startled her so. While there were some who were clearly getting too close to one another to run away from the paint, Tesla did no such thing. She wanted to escape without having to attempt to brush dried paint out her curly hair which would only make it a frizzy mess. The young student hoped that she hadn't caught the eyes of whoever was attacking the students with paint as she found a shrub to crouch behind.

Flavio was ignorant to the chaos unfolding within the great lawn as his mind was solely focused on walking towards the lakefront in search of the ducklings he was still eager to feed though furthermore still unable to find. That was why the young Ravenclaw walked into the firing line of paint without realizing until it was indeed far too late. His precious uniform and the bread he had in one hand were now covered in a bright, considerably ugly neon yellow colour. He opened his mouth ajar, unable to even gasp in the state of shock he found himself in and barely had enough time to recover before he ran towards the nearest shrub to hide from further yellow coloured harm. As he kneeled in the dirt and attempted to slide some of the excess paint from his Ravenclaw tie he realized he wasn't the only one with the idea to hide and awkwardly looked towards the girl who shared the unfortunate experience of being covered in paint. "Sorry. Thought this spot was empty." He said in heavily accented English. Not sure if his sentence made sense or not, Flavio smiled sheepishly at the girl before moving his gaze through the bush he was hiding behind in search of the culprit.

Emma Snow was a proud third year, and was out on the lawns looking for something to do, and searching for someone of interest. Well, only one person really. Emma finally found him! Tholomyes! She rushed to him but was stopped in her tracks when she felt something splash on her head and robes. Her first thought was, 'Rain?' Emma looked over her robes and she was covered in red and gold or yellow paint. It was hard to figure it out. But someone managed to douse her in Gryffindor colors. It even went into her hair and everything. Her eyes wondered over the people, seeing that they too were covered. She started to giggle like mad before she approached Tholomyes. She smiled at him with her infectious smile, "Hey there, welcome to Gryffindor!" She poked at his robes, which too had paint on them. Some were really mad, which she could understand why. She did wonder who did this, but knowing her, she didn't want to get involved. She wanted to be with Tholomyes instead.

In his fascination with watching different people with the different amounts of paint all over them, the boy hadn't exactly noticed the colours on his clothes, and only when he turned and was gazed with the sight of her infectious smile, that he looked down, the smile gracing his own lips easily, "Thanks," he replied with a equally large smile, "I think they suit me," he told her, as he laughed lightly at the colours on both him and on her. Tholomyes had been looking to find Emma, she was his best friend in the school, and he was so happy to see her, even if he was covered in paint, as was she, it was one way to start the new year. Theo loved it, he loved the way people looked with all this colour, it was such an incredible sight to see, and he just smiled at Emma, unable to stop himself upon seeing her smile and he in a moment of snap judgement just stepped forward and wrapped his hands around her in a hug, not even bothering to try to avoid the paint, "It's good to see," he said to her quietly before pulling away from her, sticking slightly due to the paint, "And under such colourful circumstances, I wonder if we could get some different colours on you and change you from a gryffindor do a ravenclaw.

Orwell was pretty happy to be part of this, whatever it was, he liked being covered in the paint, and he was feeling pretty happy just sitting with Kayleigh who proceeded to spread the paint all over his face, "I guess I do," he agreed with a hearty laugh. He couldn't stop smiling, completely unable to stop the smile which grew on his face at all of this, it was nice to hear her laugh and just having some silly fun, they had been having a lovely picnic and Orwell really did enjoy Kayleigh's company and this just made it a little story for them. He couldn't help the laugh that escaped his lips as another balloon was burst over her head, and this appeared to be her last straw, as he watched her exclaim loudly and clearly figure out who it was doing the balloon paints and the boy just watched as she began towards them, "You go get them Bambi!" he encouraged her, as he watched her vaguely giving chase to the boys who were causing all the trouble. He didn't much mind the mess, or being covered with paint, but he wouldn't stop her from doing so, and it was still funny to him, this was just such a fun thing.
