Open Doctor's Orders: Spook 'Em

Gaia was dressed as a plague doctor, because why not? She'd been hesitant on whether or not to attend this feast but eventually she'd been swayed by Nia's talks about it. She'd originally planned to dress up as her big sister for the laughs but decided to go with something where she could wear a mask and hide her identity a bit more. Walking into the great hall the Slytherin looked through the things she could do, maybe she should go into the spooky tent and scare someone? Was that too mean? Then again it wouldn't entirely be her fault if she just took a walk and someone did get spooked by her, she was merely taking a stroll in the tent herself. Yeah that sounded like a plan, so without any further hesitation the first year walked her way to the tent, minding her own business, glaring at a few of the props rattling at her.

Kanako didn't know exactly why she bothered going to the Halloween feast. She never had that good of a time and never saw anyone she knew really. But she decided to go nonetheless, her costume mocking her brother and his nerdiness. He wasn't here for her to laugh at so she'd elected to walking through the tent, not reacting to any of the spooky jumpscares or objects along her way. She noticed something, or someone, ahead - a plague doctor. Kanako raised an eyebrow. She honestly was into the frills - it was a neat costume. "Nice frills. What are you supposed to be though?" Kanako asked as she approached, hoping she wasn't talking to a prop and it was an actual person underneath that mask. Kanako was wholly ignorant of what a plague doctor was, although her brother Kyousuke could have lectured on the subject for several minutes.

Gaia turned around at the sound of a voice, taking full advantage of the fact that her eyes weren't really on show and taking the girl in from head to toe. "A plague doctor." The Slytherin asked with a matter of fact tone. "What are you supposed to be?" She returned the question, the other girls costume looked like, well, it looked like someone's everyday look so Gaia had no idea what she was dressed up as. Maybe the older girl had come in her everyday look, honestly not such a bad idea given Gaia was near suffocation with the mask.

"I'm a nerd," Kanako said, feeling like it was somewhat underwhelming but trying to hide that. "But like, a fashionable one. And I'm not one in real life, that's why it's a costume. A nerd, I mean. I am fashionable." Kanako felt like it was important to emphasise that. She didn't really know what a plague doctor was but didn't want to show her ignorance so she just went along with it. She wondered just who was underneath the mask. A girl, by the sounds of things. That didn't narrow things down much. "Not much of a 'spooky tent' is it?" Kanako queried. "I've seen scarier things walking down the street in Wellington."
