Flavio felt like he was slowly but surely growing into his role as a prefect, no matter how unusual it always was to hear his name mentioned in house meetings, and the general metaphorical heaviness of the extra badge pinned to his uniform. He was more comfortable being a leader than he was when first given the badge that was for sure, and the role of quidditch captain furthered his confidence to make decisions that benefitted others, but it seemed that no matter how many responsibilites were put on his shoulders, there were some things he would never fully get used to. Thankfully there were some things he had adjusted to easily, and one of those things was prefect patrols. Patrolling the school after curfew to make sure everyone was safe was definitely one of the things he found easy about being a prefect, understanding the responsibility and wanting to stay alert whenever he did patrol for the sake of others. In a way the routine of it was a comfortable reverie from the parts about his role he still wasn't used to.

One of the things that helped was definitely the company of his patrol partner that year. Though Flavio and Fleur were not close to being friends, nor did he understand some of the implications of what she said to him, their conversations during their patrols were pleasant and polite thus far and focused on their task. It was polite enough to keep him from being bored but not a distraction from their responsibilities and he was thankful for it since he wanted to focus on making sure students were safe in their dorms and not breaking curfew more than anything. "It looks like no one is around here." Flavio said after they turned a corner. "Should we move on?" The answer was obvious but Flavio thought it was best to ask Fleur anyway for the sake of being polite.

Fleur thought she'd be annoyed by Flavio and having to walk the halls with him. But he turned out to be a good partner. He kept them on task which was something her and Evelyn had struggled with the previous year in comparison. She did always try to leave in remarks about her thoughts on him liking boys but he never seemed to notice which she thought was rather funny. She easily got bored of patrolling the halls almost every day and wished she could be somewhere else, more fun. But here she was walking the halls with another girl's boyfriend, another boy's boyfriend? She wasn't too sure.

"Right, not one you might be searching for," Fleur said in reply without really thinking. She was referring to a secret lover but she knew he might read it as a trouble maker or a student sleep walking. It was easy to fool Flavio she felt. "So when did you know? That you were meant to be partnered with your, uh, love interest?" Fleur asked watching him carefully to see if he looked like he was hiding a secret behind his girlfriend. She really didn't see them working out, he was smart and handsome and she was well normal and average, probably below average if Fleur honestly gave her opinions.

Flavio nodded at Fleur's comment, assuming she meant there were no rule breakers running around past curfew. He did not think much more towards what she was saying as they continued strolling through the corridor. Listening to her later question, Flavio almost automatically assumed Fleur was asking about November, and not realizing she was implying a 'relationship' with someone else. Talking about his romantic life was never something Flavio was inclined to do, thinking that unless he needed advice on a situation that was confusing him, it was no one else's business. However wanting to keep up small talk he tried to put together a vague answer to appease her, thinking it was the more polite option as opposed to outright saying he did not want to tell her about his relationship with his girlfriend. "I knew when our friendship changed to something more. After we knew we both liked each other as more than friends, it was obvious." He explained, remembering the yule ball in his fourth year fondly as it was the hallmark for the beginning of his crush on November, no matter how confusing it had been for him at the time. Not wanting to share more than that Flavio ended his words with a shrug, hoping it was enough to satiate the ever present curiosity Fleur had towards his relationship.

He didn't understand why his relationship was such an interest of Fleur's, nor why she continued to prod him about it during their patrols, but he was content with sharing little things to her in an effort to stay polite. If they were going to spend at least the rest of the year patrolling together the last thing he wanted was to say or do anything that could cause a problem. They were meant to be mature and expected to be role models for their houses, it would be irresponsible on Flavio's part to not make an effort to keep things civil with his patrol partner. If he didn't make an effort to get along with Fleur or any of the prefects, it wouldn't reflect well on him so he couldn't see a different option than answering her questions at least briefly and in a way he was comfortable with.

Fleur bit her lip for a moment before catching herself. It was bad for her already perfect lips to bite on them, she knew that. It was ingrained in her head from her mother's consistent nagging about her habits. The boy wasn't admitting anything about Rory and she really wanted to know if they were secretly a couple or had ever been. Not that it would matter for her friendship with Rory, but she knew if Rory was into boys she'd have to forget him herself. Her crush wasn't much, she had Riley and sometimes she thought about some of the other boys in their year. Solomon was cute looking, she'd seen him in classes and around the common room, but he like the other boys always seemed taken by someone else. Fleur had to remind herself about Riley constantly, the boy was cute but she knew her parents wouldn't approve of his blood status as a final match for her. Shaking her head lightly she remembered she needed to respond to Flavio in that moment. "Obvious, to everyone else beforehand of course. I mean everyone could see the way you two were together, always studying," Fleur said bringing the subject back to Flavio and his current girlfriend. "Some thought you might end up with Amber, but well, that'd never work out. Did you ever like anyone else before, er, November?" The teen asked trying her hardest to sound as though she did know his girlfriend's name. How many patrols had they been on before now that the girl had come up occasionally. Now she was playing into his personal feelings about people she wondered if he'd respond or close up to his prim and proper self that he normally was on their patrols.

It was unexpected that Fleur seemed to know every candid detail of Flavio's friendships, even mentioning the notion people saw the mutual feelings he and November had before they knew themselves, and that others thought he would have ended up with Amber instead. Why his friendships were up for such speculation and important enough for other people in their year to talk about he didn't understand, and the idea that he was being talked about at all made him cross his arms defensively. Knowing his interactions with people he cared about was on the minds of others made him feel a level of uncomfortable he had never experienced before. His preferences were usually to keep his affections private and the thought that students in his year did not respect this privacy by talking about the interacts that were public made him feel vulnerable. Ideally it would be his academic merits on people's tongues but it seemed these weren't adequate enough of a conversation piece than the people he spent the most time around. Still feeling uncomfortable, Flavio almost didn't answer Fleur's question of who he liked before November, but when he gave it a second thought answering this question was at least harmless. The subject of his first crush was older than him, had graduated, and was no longer in he or his sister's life, so he couldn't reason against mentioning it to Fleur. "I had a crush on my sister's friend Kylie during first year, but then she graduated." He said, intentionally keeping the answer short and hoping it was enough to satisfy Fleur's seemingly endless need to pry into his life.

Fleur waited for Flavio's answer, he seemed to distance himself and she wondered if she had said too much. But he had to know of course that everyone talk about everyone. They weren't a large class, she could pretty much point at a person in their year and knew their name and house if not more about them. She was a collector of facts, she loved to know things before others knew them. The topic of crushes was interesting for Fleur. She had wondered if he'd keep it short and his reply was. But it was more than enough for that first question. They continued on and she knew he might open up more if she opened up as well. "I always found Rory quite cute," Fleur said side glancing at Flavio to see what his interaction was. "Though more recently I moved on from that, he is such a player," Fleur said with a shrug of her shoulders. A lot of the people in their year were good looking so she had plenty of options of guys to crush on. "So you've only ever liked this Kylie girl and November? Did you ever think about guys before?" Fleur questioned wondering if he'd spill that he also liked Rory at some point. Obviously he was with November now and anyone could see them happy, not touching, reading in the library. It seemed odd how little they actually seemed like a couple in love to Fleur.
