Maia was quite busy. She had bought lots of food, and some clothes today. She was still recovering from her run-in with the "Dark Wizard."-she didn't think he was a death eater, as he had worn a short-sleeved t-shirt. She had needed plenty of food, as she hadn't been in her apartment for a while. Also, she needed some more summery clothing, as she had never really shopped for New-Zealand style clothes since she had moved there a year ago. She looked across the street, her perfectly straightened hair falling across her face. It always amused her how different she looked when she straightened her hair.
Lately everyone had been treating her like an invalid, which annoyed her. She felt that people looked down on her, because she had lost that duel. Hell-she looked down on herself for losing. She had applied to be an auror, but had lost in her first serious duel. Admittedly he was older than her, still she felt she should have done better. She had stopped a good few of his attacks and seen through some of his tricks, but Maia didn't see that. she saw the failure.
As she was walking along, thinking to herself a man, taller than her, older than her, and rather grumpy ran straight into her. He hit straight into her and began grumbling about people watching where they're going. Maia fell as he hit into her and dropped all the bags. Pain shot through her side, but she ignored it. She stood up and began to put things back in her bag.
