Jonathan was more than happy that the holidays were now over and school was back in full swing once again. Not that he hadn’t enjoyed his holidays but he had been asked to stay at the school to help supervise the children that had remained behind and with having no family of his own to spend the holidays with he had agreed to do so. He had been able to get off for a while during Christmas Day to visit his family back home and see his son but it didn’t last long enough for him to fully enjoy himself. With class over for the day Jonathan made his way back to his office to relax a bit before dinner. Loosening his tie a bit he decided to stop off at the library, although he wasn’t really interested in checking out any books. Making his way through the dusty shelves he looked around in search for Savannah. He hadn’t seen her since before the holidays and missed her so he felt like down would be a good opportunity for a catch up.

Savannah was going about yet another day of her job as one of the Hogwarts New Zealand Librarians. The job wasn't exactly thrilling but it was stable and paid well enough. Not exactly where she had pictured herself at thirty six but it's not as bad as she felt it was back when she started the job at Thirty. Especially not as she got new freedoms and was able to leave the castle more often, trusting the younger assistants not to screw anything up. At the moment her mind was on nothing in particular as she shoved books back into their spots off of the giant floating dolly for when book check ins came in waves, She thought about maybe sending that cute blonde from the mall an owl or maybe she'd go pay her friend Jonathan a visit. The two hadn't spoken in a few weeks and it would be nice to talk with him again. Speak of the devil... she thought when she turned into the next row of books. "Hello." she told him a bit too loudly for a library to get his attention. "And what brings you up to the Herbology section Jon?" she asked, leaning aaginst a bookcase.

Jonathan walked in among the bookshelves as he continued to look for Savannah. As far as he was aware she wasn’t off today so he knew she was roaming around here somewhere. As he walked along the bookshelves he ran his finger along the spine of books, glancing at a few of the topics as he did so. If you didn’t know Jonathan it would be clear to see that he had been a Ravenclaw in his years at Hogwarts (despite the fact that he was now Head of the very same house here at Hogwarts New Zealand). He had, of course, been one of the typical Ravenclaws he had always spent a lot of his time in the library, be it simply reading a book or doing his homework and studying he would be usually be found in the library. The days of his youth brought a soft smile to his face. Not that he was old or anything; he still had a few good years in him. A familiar voice brought him back to the present day. Turning his head in the direction that the voice was coming from he smiled when he saw that it was none other than the person he had come to see.“Hi Savannah.” He said. At her question he waited a moment before he answered, not fully knowing why he had arrived at this section. “ I’ve been thinking about giving Styx a run for his job. What do you think?” he asked, while remaining pretty serious he was completely joking.

While Jonathan had been the typical Ravenclaw in school. Haunting the Libraries [So to speak] on a daily basis and getting fantastic grades. Savannah has been your typical Gryffindor. Even as she got older she had always wanted to explore and be different. She had never let anything stop her from attaining her goals and though she wasn't where she wanted to be for the rest of her life she had felt at the time that she had a purpose for coming here as staff in the schools younger years. So far she had been a bit dissapointed. But sometimes felt her purpose for being here was close, Almost as if it were right in front of her. Though she had been there so long at that point she had honestly grown attached to the school and some of the 'nerdier' students who spent hours in the library. She looked at Jon and smiled as he held a book about carnivorous plants in the Amazon. "Well, Good luck on that. May be better to start with a book that isn't about plants in South America." she joked with a smirk as she edges closer to him and poked the spine of the book. "Though I will admit the pictures in that are interesting, a bit gory for my tastes though." she told him. She had read part of that book once and they showed exactly what these plants did to other plants... Animals... Humans. Anything to eat really.

Jonathan, of course, had no interest in Herbology whatsoever. He loved History of Magic far too much to even think about digressing and going to teach a different subject. Sure, every so often he would fill in for a Professor who was sick and they couldn’t get hold of one of the Substitute Professors; but then again that was only once every blue moon. No, History of Magic was the subject for him; that was for sure. Even when he was in his junior years of Hogwarts he had such a huge passion for that subject, he didn’t know why it had appealed to him so but it did and he always worked extra hard in that subject because he knew one day that it would be his life, and true enough look where he was at today – History of Magic Professor of Hogwarts New Zealand and that wasn’t going to change anytime soon as far as Jonathan was concerned.

Jonathan looked down at the book he had in his hand, he really didn’t know why he picked it up at all. He laughed at Savannah’s words. “Oh really, I thought it would be a good book to start with.” he said with a shrug. “Anyway, pictures are nothing compared to the real thing.” he told her after experiencing the plants in South America during one of his many digs around the World. Putting the book back where it was on the shelf Jonathan turned back round to Savannah. He was so happy that he had finally found someone in this school that he could talk to whenever he wanted about whatever he wanted. “So how’s things in the exciting life of a Hogwarts Librarian today?” He asked with a smile.
