Sapphire had one option left- music. She made her way down to the Arts room early Saturday morning, barefoot and dressed in simple jeans and a black t-shirt. She hadn't been sleeping much anyway. Every time she closed her eyes at night her mind took her places she didn't want to go. With a frustrated sigh, she found her way to the nearest acoustic guitar. She sat and tuned it. She had been practicing with Kira Wolf over summer vacation. While she wasn't great at it, she was getting better.

And if there was one song she was good at, it was Let Her Go by Passenger. For some reason, she had always thought the song was absolutely beautiful, especially once she'd heard it played acoustically. She took a seat, her dark hair pulled back into a messy ponytail. Dark tendrils escaped and framed her face. She began playing, and it wasn't long before she was lost in the music.

Always one to be found wandering the castle or the grounds or Quidditch pitch or the kitchens or wherever there was space available, Elio was crossing through the courtyard, dressed in his jeans and a hoodie since he had no classes today, headphones in although not connected to anything since his iPod didn't work on the school grounds. He had no real destination in mind so much as wondering whether his parents were missing him. Moving to Hogwarts had been a big change for him and while he was very much enjoying it, when he wasn't around other people his thoughts drifted back to home.

Passing by the conglomerated arts room, he thought he was actually hearing music although since there was nothing on the other end of his headphones, he thought for a second he may have been able to summon something. Pulling out one ear bud though he realised the tune was only getting louder, and it was on that he recognised. Although it wasn't his usual style of music, he'd heard it played out in the shops in his home town, and taking more steps towards the noise he soon came across the source. He stood in the doorway for a few moments, feeling comforted at the thought of hearing the song while out with his mum, that day when he'd gotten a slushy but managed to spill it on his new jacket. Although he may not have been the best at it, and his voice was a pitch that some may not have found most pleasing, it didn't bother the Gryffindor as he gradually began to match the tune that was being played. "Cause you only need the light when it's burning low. Only miss the sun when it starts to snow," Elio didn't dare look up as he sang quietly, in case he recieved a glare from the girl that told him his was interrupting. It had been way too long since he'd heard any music and he was making the most of it. "Only know you love her when you let her go. Only know you've been high when you're feeling low. Only hate the road when you're missing home. Only know you love her when you let her go"

Sapph was almost startled when the young boy joined her, singing softly. She glanced up, offering him a smile as she continued playing. "And you let her go," she joined in, her voice pleasant if not a touch off-key.

She smiled at the younger boy. "I never did understand why there wasn't a magic equivalent to an i-pod." She told him conversationally. "Do you have any songs you really like?" She asked, glad to be able to talk music again. "Sapphire Michael's," she told him as she waved to a seat next to her, inviting him to sit.
