Desideratus was born on Valentine's day, and so his parents wished for him to have a romantic name. Desideratus is of Latin origin, and means Desired. Asce is of French origin, and means Noble at birth. Lesley is the last name of his father, meaning Garden of Hollies and is of Scottish origin.

Desi is a corruption of his first name, as his first name is long and complicated, especially for young people when thry try to pronounce it. Houdini is because of his constant attempts to escape wherever he happens to be, and is a name some friends use to refer to him.
